i play sousaphone, and i can honestly say that the hardest thing about the instrument, is its weight, which isnt that bad once you get used to it. before that i played trumpet, so my range is pretty awesome on sousaphone :) its all about the BASS

Overplaying in low brass in general is what (its true) African American colleges and school are notorious for, its their type of music, the real sound its that of a tube not some blast fracked crap lol but seriously props to the first group, what they played is a nationally recognized low brass (more than just tuba play) tune its low brass only, its like Lewie Lewie, it doesn't have a real name, but it is mostly called TANK :) other group just showed off all their skill and won probably ;P

The worst part of this video is that every single sousaphone is put together incorrectly and worn wrong. A sousaphone bell is supposed to continue the curve of the instrument with the body held to one's side, not in front. These are assembled with the valves in the front, the way sousaphones are displayed for sale. Older Conn sousaphones had marks on the body and bell to show where they were to be aligned. Somebody teach band directors the correct way to have their players wear the instrument.
