Cheers for that Sir B there was also a british group out by the same or similar name, I was just wondering if they where one of the same. Thanks for your response
@Richpete001 I'll tell you the lineup Marilyn Wilson,(Brian Wilson's still supergorgeous 1st wife) Diane Rovell,(Marilyn's sister also still supergorgeous) and Ginger Blake,(Marilyn and Diane's cousin also still supergorgeous)
I shot-the-curl once. The meat was real tough, and it spit at me as I tried to get out there in front of it. So I tried shootin it again; and it sucked me in, an spit me out the otherside. Hey man, don't EVER try "shootin-the-curl;" unless you can hit it, in the right spot. Yeah.
flashback i tried to shoot the curl once on my brother's what seemed like a ten foot long board, i showed those boys alright, but it wasn't my style, it was my butt in the air as i wiped out. i never tried again what a shame the honeys got the right attitude
Great female surfing classic. Not heard this before, were any of the Honey's records ever released in the uk back in the '60,s.I would love to have seen them on Top of the Pops!
"We're gonna .. shoot the curl, for one clear mile .. ". What a priceless lyric !! Now .. a conundrum arises here, concerning the 'burning question' of how-come this lyric-line arose : Had The Honeys been to & ridden Cape St Francis in Sth Africa, WELL BEFORE Bruce Brown, Robert August and Mike Hynson got there (re their timeless "Endless Summer" 'perfect-wave' interlude, & that 'pipe' curl that just went-on-&-on, seemingly-forever, re that particular location). Just kidding ...
thank you....i also have a few rare beach boys in mint condition 2 copies of surfin' on x label and picture sleeve of 10 little indians....ive lived in huntington since '58 so i go way back with the surf stuff...thanks again
The Honeys also did much back-up vocals work on early B.Boys records - e.g. the cheerleader backing chorus on the up-beat single-release version of "Be True To Your School". Brian did some great creative, arranging & production work with The Honeys in the early 60s. They put out a whole series of songs - I've got a boxed collector's set, an original vinyl LP release numbered No.84 of only 100 ever issued. I play it constantly - still in mint condition. DIANNE Rovell was sure mighty pretty !!
2 People don't know how to shoot the curl LOL

Thanks for all the info, didn't know about most of that. Sounds like a valuable LP. I copied this from from an LP, 'The Brian Wilson Productions'.

Marlyn, Brian Wilson's wife is on the left. Decades later their daughter would team up as "Wilson Phillips." Some genes huh?
