  • hey i think your speakers has a house on it XD

  • Are those 12's in the natural wood cab? ...I have an older (late 70's) Altec 12" I use in the mids of my 2 x 18" / 12" horn combo that looks exactly like them, also used to have the 421-8H2 (15") in our VOTT copies

  • Nice! What size and tuning did you use for the cabinets?? I am 414z right now and am struggling to get the bass to not "boom" in the box they are in. I had em in a bigger box, 4.2 cubit feet, and now they are in a smaller box. 3.2 cubic feet. They are getting there. Your boxes look really small.

  • Speaker heaven! Very impressive. Great vid. I'm a big Ella fan, and I love her ballads as well as her sciddly-up-too-boop-bah stuff too!

  • Ella sounds great, what a collection of fine vintage speakers systems you have. You remind me of a friend I had many years ago. He had a 2 story house and the entire downstairs was Altec Speaker systems. It was a large house and he even had the original Altec A2-X voice of the theater, which are too large to get in most homes.

  • You definately got a lot of Altec Stuff! I got my 811B's today and I won a pair of 808-8B drivers for them. I will join them to a pair of JBL 2225H woofers and cross them at 1500 hz...SWEET!

  • Wow, you live in a speaker!

  • @jpnoll

Thanks! sound is my passion! I love it all! It seems that Altec has been the speaker that can satisfy me 100%. I like the fact that you can use a single cap and coil and get the best sound! Truly natural!

  • @Progneta : The record mastering group made 64db per octave crossover for the Altec 604 E (5) coaxial speaker. This crossover is no 6db per octave amateur stuff, no, HI-FI which is use in a studio to critique the sound quality of a record.

    6db per octave, LOL.

    :-\

  • nice nice. :)
