ducks are actually fine in swimming pools. some ducks actually spend most of their night life in pools when the owners are asleep. and they really like heated pools, but not hot tubs (obviously) :) cute video

yes chlorine is not good for poultry. They should be given LOTS of water prior to swimming to ensure less chance of ingesting it.

However, not swimming in a pool altogether is best.

Younglings need stimulation.. not do it when they feel they are ready to. In nature they jump from far higher then that sometimes, a good couple of ducks would yell at them to encourage them if they are scared. Thats how nature works.
