In somehow, it reminds me Soul Calibur's atmosphere in the music. It has the same tension, the same "gloring at the world" feeling. I barely imagine a voice telling a story of war where great men like Zhao Yun, Zhou Yu, Zhuge Liang, etc, are actors. Great music.
The Wu kingdom were the real deal!!! seriously they never wanted war and they never interfered in taking a province or land or appear greedy in whatever case unless it had something to do with threatening their kingdom. they truly wanted peace and to certify this. Eastern Wu was the last living kingdom to fall!!! may this seem weird but i support Wu. well not in reality of course but in my heart LONG LIVE WU!! lol
@Weizarea not that im being wrong about wu but the shu also wanted virtue and belevonence and the only reason the wu were the last to fall because all the future sun family discraced it because theyve killed and betrayed even sun qaun when he betrayed the alliance with shu killing guan Yu
@lion58blue In reality. Liu Bei was no different than any other warlord out there. he was as greedy as he was spontaneous in taking anything when the chance is seen. the vitrue and benevolence you're indicating is only shown in the novel of Luo Ben. so historically speaking. there was no such thing as benevolence and virtue. although you're right Sun Hao. the last emperor of Wu was tyrannically ruthless and mad. but its never the reason. Sun Quan lived long enough and died at a very old age.
Basically there are two Zhuge Liang's. The most famous one is the fictional one who you see in Dynasty Warriors. He was created by Luo Guanzhong for the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This novel's story is fictional, but heavily based on history.
The other Zhuge Liang is the historical one. Born and died on the same day as the fictional one and more or less participated in the same battles, but was not as clever as the fictional Zhuge Liang. He was a great administrator though.
@InuYashaboy1992 me too, he doesn't deserve it, and I don't like him anymore for becoming the poster boy the whole time... The Three Kingdoms is all about Liu Bei, Sun Quan and Cao Cao and perhaps their successors, they should be in the intro's and covers, not Zhao Yun.
@ThePnost84 even better. But still I reckon Zhou Yu should be in the intros just like in DW2 and DW6 Empires. He's way cooler and better looking. Zhao Yun *sighs* is always stealing the spotlight for most characters. Hate him.
One can only fathom what China would be like if Wu defeated Jin.....Sun Jian based his kingdom on Family before anything else... *sigh* What a wonderful China it would be
@heronomuga It'd actually probably be pretty awful. Because around the time Jin appeared, Sun Hao who was Wu's final emperor, was an ruthless tyrant who killed those who he thought opposed him or were against him and oppressed the common people.
Hmm... Then again... Looking at China now, maybe it's arguable on whether or not it'd be that bad... Then there's also the fact that even Jin couldn't keep China united for even a century.

@ThePnost84 11, 5, 2. Those are the numbers, at the population of all who watched it, most don't care. Also, how many of those are actually to be envalued, argument ad populum is a logical fallacy I believe. What did I do again? I think I disagreed with you once, which had yet to reach a conclusion, even if I found your points agreeable. Now, it simply sounds like you're inflating your ego.
@eastreddragon I was referring to what you're doing right now, is this supposed to be a great way of spending your time? 11, 5 and 2 is very picky of you, but it's still a lot more than the zero you got.
@ThePnost84 That would be a valid point if I was looking for popularity, and once again, how many of them are actually important? Argument...ad...populum... it's a fallacy, stop doing it. Not necessarily spending my time with this, save for arguing with you at the moment, nor am I doing it consistently spending my time doing so as you yourself are.
@eastreddragon Neither am I looking for popularity. Argument ad populum is not of the issue here, which you should know. And don't compare me with what you're doing right now; my messages have all been Three Kingdoms history and game related. The argument you just started has zero to do with the aforementioned topics though.
@bonifidehustla How can u hate Sun Quan he and his family had the best ideals of all, more so than Liu Bei who was a total hypocrite and Cao Cao who wanted to conquer for the sake of conquest... at least Quan had a clear set of ideals to keep the lands of Wu safe and in history he was a far greater ruler than any other, hence why Wu was the last kingdom to fall
Nope, Sun Quan wasn't much of a leader... If he didnt have Zhou Yu he would have lost Chi Bi. He cant lead an army. For Wu, Its all about Sun Ce and Zhou Yu, they were the dominant driving forces of Wu. After Zhou Yu, Wu didnt do to much...
@kharntb Cao Cao would have never won at Chi Bi anyway, half of the Wei army was completely demoralised and struck by tropical viruses, also his forces had overexpanded themselves with food supplies and the march south had drained most of their energy. Also for Wu an army adept at naval warfare it was only a matter of where they led Cao Cao's army to in order to attack via fire. Most of Cao Cao's fleet were not used to ships and fell seasick, realistically he was never gonna win
@Magmaking13 That's why they locked their ships together, so it felt more stable like land.. which is also why they lost because the fire attack did more damage than it should've. I guess you can say Wei would've won the battle of Chi Bi if the winds did not change (with or without Zhou Yu), but that's not how things played out so it matters not.
@Jimster619 Yeah true, although it's unreal how much of the battle has been lost through history, historians are still unsure where the battle even took place, although they know it was along the Yangtse river. Still the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms to this day is just a fantastic piece of literature and history, obviously things were glorified but overall the tale of Wu, Wei and Shu is legendary.
@kharntb Didn't do too much? I guess you're leaving out Lu Xun and the battle of Yi Ling which crushed Shu and set it forth on its ultimate path of demise. Sure, if Sun Ce had lived, he and Zhou Yu would have likely taken control of China due to their seemingly endless momentum, but the truth is that a lot of "lucky for the enemy" circumstances happened to all the Kingdoms.
@TheFox966 Obviously you don't know too much about Sun Ce and what he did for Wu or you'd never be downplaying him. He "bought" 3000 troops with the Imperial Seal and built Wu from the ground up. His skill as a leader of men attracted great officers to him. He definitely would have taken Wu to greater distances had he lived.
Zhou Yu planned the fire attack, without him Chi Bi would have been vastly different.
I didn't say they died, I said it started them on their demise.
i know all about sun ce and zhou yu my friend. liu bei went from a poor shoe maker into the last emperor of han dynasty
the imperial seal story isn't real, sun jian gave it to yuan shu the moment he found it. sun ce betrayed yuan shu and took his lands from him when he became an emperor.
sun ce attacked cao cao twice and met 2 humiliating defeats. even if sun ce lived chen deng will keep kicking his ass.
@TheFox966 Dude, the very fact you think that Liu Bei was the last emperor of the Han Dynasty shows that you don't know what you're talking about Liu Shan was the last emperor of the Han Dynasty and he was made into a Duke when Jin took over. Seriously, there's no point in talking to you when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
actually liu bei never called his land shu , he called it han their enemies called it shu. after liu bei death and sun quan was made emperor liu shan went with shu.
but for argument sake even if im wrong at this little detail how about the other thing i had just said?
@TheFox966 Actually, the land was known as Shu Han. So you're wrong again. And Huang Gai didn't come up with the fire attack, Zhou Yu did. Huang Gai came up with the beating idea based on Sun Tzu's strategy to gain favor with your enemy by beating yourself and feigning defection. Let's not forget that there were many strategists involved in Chi Bi, your claim that Huang Gai was solely repsonsible is erroneous.
no need to read the biography here I'll quote it for you
"he followed Zhou Yu to defend against Lord Cao at Chibi. He suggested the stratagem of fire-attack. This is recorded in Zhou Yu’s biography (2). He was made “Martial-sharp” General of the Interior. "
also he wasn't beaten in by zhou yu thats just from the novel.
i suggest that you read a few biographies from kongming site its awesome
chibi wasn't planned really , a fisher man came to zhou yu and chen pu (the commanders) and told them that the wind will change , huang gai stood up and came up with the fire attack. zhou yu did nothing other then whipping huang gai. welcome to realty
@conradojavier I would have said Cheng Pu definitely and then Han Dang given that along with Huang Gai and Master Pu that they were Sun Jian's 3 most loyal generals, but Zhu Ran would have been an excellent addition also
I can't believe they forgot CHENG PU, HAN DANG, ZHU ZHI. Put in THE FIVE WU ELDERS. It would be nice for it to go with the FIVE TIGER GENERALS AND THE FIVE GENERALS OF WEI. WHAT ABOUT LU KANG. If Sima Zhao can live past his death why not LU KANG WHO WAS THE LAST GREAT GENERAL OF WU. What about Zhu Ran! Who was Sun Quan's childhood friend and a general who won against Wei with only 5000 men at Jiangling and took control over Wu's army after the death of LU XUN!
i am sick of people complaining about weapons and looks of characters the game isnt even out yet so you may even like their weapons. for me i dont care what they look like as long the game is good im happy and in this game you can change weapons so everyone stop your whining
the last six characters: Xu Huang (Halberd), Wei Yan (Double-Edged Blade), Gan Ning (Chained Sickle), Huang Gai (Club), Pang Tong (Monk Staff), and Diao Chan (Chain Whip). [off koei website]
@TheDaqiaozhenji402 no, its not. the English voice actor is Brian Donovan (Lee), Joshua Seth is Zhou Yu´s. The Japanese are different, too if you were asking for them.
At first I didn't like the change to Zhou Yu, esp the hair but the more I look at him he's fine, as fine as always. I do really dislike the English voice in DW:7 they gave him, he doesn't sound like a dignified military straitest anymore but a boyish brat.
Even Zhou Yu doesn't look to happy with his new appearance. But if I were right there in front of him, I would say at least your not wearing those stripper elf boots anymore. BTW I wounder why Koei decided to make the Bo Staff Zhou Yu's main weapon again?
@RichardWiggler05 I like Zhou Yu's costume in 2 and 3 the best. Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5 are my favourites. But Dynasty Warriors 3 has my favourite tracks with my favourite song Endless Fight.
@InuYashaboy1992 Lol yeah i know where u might have got that from.. The shoulder parts? XD But i gotta say, the rest of the design doesnt seem like a british kinda suit. Cuz 1) They wear green :D 2) They wear more belts dont they? to carry ammunition or whutever >_>. Well that's just my thought lols.. He certainly looks a bit over-dressed tho.. XD
@lSzeSze if your referring for the shoulder parts those parts are called epaulettes. But the white pants and those boots is what redcoats wear in the 18th century. Also a sword fits his presence but he's faster on a staff. I still prefer him with his elder's sword though.
@InuYashaboy1992 Really? I thought the only thing that resembles an officer are the "epaulettes" :D And i really hate his hairstyle in this.. >_> It doesn't really suit him at al
They ruined Zhou Yu ... he was poster boy of WU ... but now he is not even revealed along with Xiahou Dun and Zhao Yun. Also his English voice is the one of the worst
Wei is my favorite however I also like Wu cause they got cool and great characters like Gan Ning, Ling Tong, Sun Ce, Taishi Ci. Also Sun Quan tried to unite all the powers and show respect to them , and Cao Cao aimed to establish system wihout Emperor in DW6. However 'Good' Lui Bei tried to restore Han and destroyed who is oppose, wasted many men for revenge, attacked ancestor's land. How good they are aren't they? Shu is Big Lie without Zhuge Liang and Glad they are first to go. Go Wei, Go Wu!
@Derinfrekans At least liu shan didnt let the people of shu be destroyed by jin while sun quan had wu practically obliterated by wei, it was spacing, since wu had so little land that they were the last to go. Shu is my favorite so i know the facts on their kingdom. Liu Bei attacked his family because if he didnt he would have been destroyed by wei. The revenge plot is true but wu is the one that used the underhanded tactic by breaking theeir alliance with shu.
@Bgeas12 Ok I accept I hate Shu, no offence, I am big fan DW series, but I do not know I can't like Shu I tried to much. Cause I do not believe they are good as they emphasize, I love only Pang Tong, Wei Yan and Zhuge Liang. Ma Chao is very different in actual history, I said why I never liked the rest. But believe me I did not write cause I hate Shu, I just do not find them that good. Also the causes you mentioned like a justifications like 'lets bring democracy with war in today's world'
@Derinfrekans im not saying they are good in the sense that you are saying. Im just explaining that their actions are certainly justified. Also, this whole period of time in China is nothing like our world today. Comparing the Three kingdoms to democratic revolution is like comparing apples and oranges. If you could determine something that loosely then i guess Zhang Jiao is as bad as Osama Bin Laden? Of course not
@Bgeas12 Shu didnt give the land back that was rightfully Wu's in the first place,Jing was supposed to go to Wu and Yi was where Liu Bei was supposed to get land considering it had a great amount of land and it was very mountainous terrain to traverse(making it alot harder to attack than Wu)
@561brucelee And wu forced it back knowing that killing Guan yu would provoke liu bei. I dont know why everyone loves wu so much. Lu Xun is an asshole
@561brucelee I always find that confusing 561brucelee....can you explain to us how or why Wu deserved Jing at all? Liu Biao wanted Liu Bei to succeed him but Liu Bei refused so Liu Biao wanted his son Liu Qi to succeed then, but then Liu Zong got it instead and surrendered, after the battle of Chi Bi, Wu tried to take the opportunity to seize Jing but Liu Qi was still alive and rightfully it was his, when Liu Qi died, Liu Bei had no choice but to take in Jing.
@561brucelee So just me saying this I think Shu also had the rights to own Jing, but when Wu wanted Jing to be returned (which i dont get how Wu earned Jing when they tried to take it from Liu Biaos Successor(s) since they were still alive,Liu Qi and Liu Bei) to them, so Shu split Jing for them and then they took it by force in order to retake Jing for themselves. Now this is just me saying this, but Wu should of known better to not kill Guan Yu they should of known it would provoke Liu Bei
Yes! From what little I've seen, it looks like Koei will try to push towards a more serious and realistic tone with DW7? Judging by the character pictures and the music alone. If so, this will be fucking EPIC, and I rarely ever use that word for anything. Please don't let this one fail, Koei.
@JapanForSale Whoa. You can't be serious.. YOU RARELY USE THAT WORD! Un-Epic man. But, yeah. I think that this will be the Final DW game. They've pretty much covered everything.
I think either Xiahou Dun or Taishi Ci should be cover boy or um maybe Ling Tong or Gan Ning

OK...Zhuge Liang's wind prayer was fictional...Wu and Shu got lucky because the wind happened to be blowing the right way...boom, one down.
Zhuge Liang took up Zhou Yu on a bet that he'd get a large amount of arrows in three days. And did it by stealing them from Cao Cao's army.
Zhou Yu then learns that Zhuge Liang's Shu took Jing Province while they were in Chi Bi.
Non fiction. I don't know exactly, I may miss some things, what do you mean some of his things actions are fiction?

@Minigun101 His biggest and greatest victory in the novel. His changing of the winds at Chi Bi among other feats
Massey3000 2 months ago
@Massey3000 He knew a wind was comming, he did all those magic shit just to look like a boss.

@Minigun101 but he wasn't present at the scene of Chibi. He just wasn't there, so what could he have done if he wasn't there?
ThePnost84 1 month ago 2
@ThePnost84 He left right after the prayer. Zhou Yu went to hunt him down but. Xiao Qiao helped him escape.
Minigun101 1 month ago
@Minigun101 that happened only in fiction. I was talking about actual history. Historically Zhuge Liang was not present at Chibi.

Sun Quan the biggest bitch in DW7.
bonifidehustla 10 months ago
@bonifidehustla Zhuge Dan??? That guy was so much more of a bitch than the great Sun Quan :P
Magmaking13 10 months ago
@Magmaking13 hmmm I still hate Sun Quan more Zhuge Dan was just delusional. Sun Quan was just a straight up bitch.
bonifidehustla 10 months ago
@bonifidehustla How can u hate Sun Quan he and his family had the best ideals of all, more so than Liu Bei who was a total hypocrite and Cao Cao who wanted to conquer for the sake of conquest... at least Quan had a clear set of ideals to keep the lands of Wu safe and in history he was a far greater ruler than any other, hence why Wu was the last kingdom to fall
Magmaking13 10 months ago
@Magmaking13
Nope, Sun Quan wasn't much of a leader... If he didnt have Zhou Yu he would have lost Chi Bi. He cant lead an army. For Wu, Its all about Sun Ce and Zhou Yu, they were the dominant driving forces of Wu. After Zhou Yu, Wu didnt do to much...
kharntb 10 months ago
@kharntb Cao Cao would have never won at Chi Bi anyway, half of the Wei army was completely demoralised and struck by tropical viruses, also his forces had overexpanded themselves with food supplies and the march south had drained most of their energy. Also for Wu an army adept at naval warfare it was only a matter of where they led Cao Cao's army to in order to attack via fire. Most of Cao Cao's fleet were not used to ships and fell seasick, realistically he was never gonna win
Magmaking13 10 months ago
@Magmaking13 That's why they locked their ships together, so it felt more stable like land.. which is also why they lost because the fire attack did more damage than it should've. I guess you can say Wei would've won the battle of Chi Bi if the winds did not change (with or without Zhou Yu), but that's not how things played out so it matters not.
Jimster619 10 months ago
@Jimster619 Yeah true, although it's unreal how much of the battle has been lost through history, historians are still unsure where the battle even took place, although they know it was along the Yangtse river. Still the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms to this day is just a fantastic piece of literature and history, obviously things were glorified but overall the tale of Wu, Wei and Shu is legendary.
Magmaking13 10 months ago
@kharntb Didn't do too much? I guess you're leaving out Lu Xun and the battle of Yi Ling which crushed Shu and set it forth on its ultimate path of demise. Sure, if Sun Ce had lived, he and Zhou Yu would have likely taken control of China due to their seemingly endless momentum, but the truth is that a lot of "lucky for the enemy" circumstances happened to all the Kingdoms.
LordSaber 9 months ago
@LordSaber
Sun Ce isn't as great as you all think just Google Chen Deng and you will know what i mean >=D
Zhou Yu is overated, what did he do? chi bi fire attack was thanks to Huang gai and Huang gai alone
shu didn't get just die after yiling as you say, Zhuge Liang, jiang wan and fei yi lead it well
lucky for Wu Chen Deng died early >=D
TheFox966 8 months ago
@TheFox966 Obviously you don't know too much about Sun Ce and what he did for Wu or you'd never be downplaying him. He "bought" 3000 troops with the Imperial Seal and built Wu from the ground up. His skill as a leader of men attracted great officers to him. He definitely would have taken Wu to greater distances had he lived.
Zhou Yu planned the fire attack, without him Chi Bi would have been vastly different.
I didn't say they died, I said it started them on their demise.
LordSaber 8 months ago
@LordSaber
i know all about sun ce and zhou yu my friend. liu bei went from a poor shoe maker into the last emperor of han dynasty
the imperial seal story isn't real, sun jian gave it to yuan shu the moment he found it. sun ce betrayed yuan shu and took his lands from him when he became an emperor.
sun ce attacked cao cao twice and met 2 humiliating defeats. even if sun ce lived chen deng will keep kicking his ass.
TheFox966 8 months ago
@TheFox966 Dude, the very fact you think that Liu Bei was the last emperor of the Han Dynasty shows that you don't know what you're talking about Liu Shan was the last emperor of the Han Dynasty and he was made into a Duke when Jin took over. Seriously, there's no point in talking to you when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
LordSaber 8 months ago
@LordSaber
actually liu bei never called his land shu , he called it han their enemies called it shu. after liu bei death and sun quan was made emperor liu shan went with shu.
but for argument sake even if im wrong at this little detail how about the other thing i had just said?
its the truth and you can't deny it >=D
TheFox966 8 months ago
@TheFox966 Actually, the land was known as Shu Han. So you're wrong again. And Huang Gai didn't come up with the fire attack, Zhou Yu did. Huang Gai came up with the beating idea based on Sun Tzu's strategy to gain favor with your enemy by beating yourself and feigning defection. Let's not forget that there were many strategists involved in Chi Bi, your claim that Huang Gai was solely repsonsible is erroneous.
LordSaber 8 months ago
@LordSaber
its called shu han now to avoid the confusion, but as you wish. liu bei wasn't the last emperor of han
read huang gai SGZ biograghy. i don't see what would zhou yu do that lu xun or lu meng couldn't
TheFox966 8 months ago
@LordSaber
no need to read the biography here I'll quote it for you
"he followed Zhou Yu to defend against Lord Cao at Chibi.

If Sima Zhao can live past his death why not LU KANG WHO WAS THE LAST GREAT GENERAL OF WU. What about Zhu Ran! Who was Sun Quan's childhood friend and a general who won against Wei with only 5000 men at Jiangling and took control over Wu's army after the death of LU XUN!

At first I didn't like the change to Zhou Yu, esp the hair but the more I look at him he's fine, as fine as always. I do really dislike the English voice in DW:7 they gave him, he doesn't sound like a dignified military straitest anymore but a boyish brat.

@InuYashaboy1992 Lol yeah i know where u might have got that from.. The shoulder parts? XD But i gotta say, the rest of the design doesnt seem like a british kinda suit. lSzeSze 5 months ago
@lSzeSze if your referring for the shoulder parts those parts are called epaulettes. But the white pants and those boots is what redcoats wear in the 18th century. Also a sword fits his presence but he's faster on a staff. I still prefer him with his elder's sword though.
InuYashaboy1992 5 months ago

Derinfrekans 1 year ago
@Derinfrekans At least liu shan didnt let the people of shu be destroyed by jin while sun quan had wu practically obliterated by wei, it was spacing, since wu had so little land that they were the last to go. Shu is my favorite so i know the facts on their kingdom. Liu Bei attacked his family because if he didnt he would have been destroyed by wei. The revenge plot is true but wu is the one that used the underhanded tactic by breaking theeir alliance with shu.

I look forward to playing w/ Liu Shan. Jin is a great addition as well. I hope their are so much more stages than before.
deltron121 1 year ago
@Bgeas12 Ok I accept I hate Shu, no offence, I am big fan DW series, but I do not know I can't like Shu I tried to much. Cause I do not believe they are good as they emphasize, I love only Pang Tong, Wei Yan and Zhuge Liang. Ma Chao is very different in actual history, I said why I never liked the rest. But believe me I did not write cause I hate Shu, I just do not find them that good. Also the causes you mentioned like a justifications like 'lets bring democracy with war in today's world'
Derinfrekans 1 year ago
@Derinfrekans im not saying they are good in the sense that you are saying. Im just explaining that their actions are certainly justified. Also, this whole period of time in China is nothing like our world today. Comparing the Three kingdoms to democratic revolution is like comparing apples and oranges. If you could determine something that loosely then i guess Zhang Jiao is as bad as Osama Bin Laden? Of course not
Bgeas12 1 year ago
@Bgeas12 Shu didnt give the land back that was rightfully Wu's in the first place,Jing was supposed to go to Wu and Yi was where Liu Bei was supposed to get land considering it had a great amount of land and it was very mountainous terrain to traverse(making it alot harder to attack than Wu)
561brucelee 1 year ago
@561brucelee And wu forced it back knowing that killing Guan yu would provoke liu bei. I dont know why everyone loves wu so much. Lu Xun is an asshole
Bgeas12 1 year ago
@561brucelee I always find that confusing 561brucelee....can you explain to us how or why Wu deserved Jing at all? Liu Biao wanted Liu Bei to succeed him but Liu Bei refused so Liu Biao wanted his son Liu Qi to succeed then, but then Liu Zong got it instead and surrendered, after the battle of Chi Bi, Wu tried to take the opportunity to seize Jing but Liu Qi was still alive and rightfully it was his, when Liu Qi died, Liu Bei had no choice but to take in Jing.
SelvsleaderCarson 11 months ago
@561brucelee So just me saying this I think Shu also had the rights to own Jing, but when Wu wanted Jing to be returned (which i dont get how Wu earned Jing when they tried to take it from Liu Biaos Successor(s) since they were still alive,Liu Qi and Liu Bei) to them, so Shu split Jing for them and then they took it by force in order to retake Jing for themselves. Now this is just me saying this, but Wu should of known better to not kill Guan Yu they should of known it would provoke Liu Bei
SelvsleaderCarson 11 months ago
Yes! From what little I've seen, it looks like Koei will try to push towards a more serious and realistic tone with DW7? Judging by the character pictures and the music alone. If so, this will be fucking EPIC, and I rarely ever use that word for anything. Please don't let this one fail, Koei.
