@rataranian You sure have a hard on for Obama. Calm down, it was just a poorly managed gubernatorial primary campaign in the one most backward places in world by somebody nobody has ever heard of. It's not the end of all black aspirations. Just like McCain losing to Obama is not the end of white aspirations or desires to be president... life goes on. Now breathe and do the slow work of building your self esteem so don't focus so much other people and take joy in their failings.
He lost in the Dem primary. 4 major black groups supported his white opponent. He lost 65% to 35%. This goes to show people that blacks don't vote for black candidates just because of race, it is because of policy. His opponent got a majority of the black vote in Alabama's primary.
Davis has now sided with the Republicans to vote down healthcare...Davis has turned his back on his constituents in Birmingham, and "the Black Belt" by potentially helping bringing down President Obama's healthcare agenda..Remember Congressman, that the people you represent voted for Obama, WE WILL NOT support your long shot bid for Governor
I am a Republican and I really like Artur Davis. He is a good common sense kinda guy. He is way better than that crooked good 'ole boy redneck Bob Riley.
He spoke inspirational in his speech about moving forward. But, I don't think Alabama is ready for someone like him. Alabama is so racially divided and so cultural conservative. He'll do better in the white vote than Obama did. He will get around 20% and 80-90% of the black vote, but that won't put him over the top. Sorry Alabama, you too backward, racist, xenophobic, and ignorant.
@zvercetti Really? What polls did you see that in? He opposed and voted against the healthcare reform bill that is why. I am not saying that is a good or bad thing. Davis is running as a centrist or moderate Democrat.
I can't remember. I just remember seeing it on tv about a month ago. It said he was the frontrunner, ahead of Sparks and the Republicans. Sorry I can't back it up, but I know I saw it.
Artur Davis- wasn't he one of the guys who fought against regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? See the vid, "Shocking Video Unearthed Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis" for proof.
@xtreme1002003 Why did he vote against universal health care? I think he would be a great choice, being moral, educated and intelligent. Quite a change for my home state.
Yeah sorry Artur. There's not gonna be any more Obama presidents in the future but nice try.
