Rover isn't coming back, all Rovers since the SD1 have been shit, they've just been either rebadged Hondas or cars that should have been badged as Austins or both.
i used to have one of those. it was fine until 93k miles,when the british engine (1,4) has exploded. but i believe that with 1,6 honda engine this car is quite smart.
I loved Rover ads from this era- the 600 had a cool advert as well, back in the day when they were rebadged Honda's. I do think the Swindon Civics have aged better, though.
I own a rover 400 series. It´s a 99 1.4 litter but you won´t find many cars from it´s class and c.c with 103 horse power. Even the honda engine has only 90 horse power. The only complain I have about the car is the brakes, they fade easy because the discs overheat fast
Bought a 420 gsi off a mate, and for 200 quid you can't go wrong! Electric windows front and back, leather seats cruise control etc...cheapest luxury on ebay!
My dad ownes a Rover 400 and to be honest I havn't got a bad word to say about it. My dad uses it to get to work and back, and we use it for family trips etc.etc. He aint an old grandad he is 40. It is as practical as its ford and vauxhall competitors let much much nicer.

its a rebadged honda which was still being made by Rover when the company collapsed. Most cars receive 2 facelifts in relatively quick succession eg the present Vectra. Why did Rover drag this car out for so long with the 3rd major alteration being worse than its predecessors?

I won't get shot of my GSI until it fails an MOT; passed two since I've got it, and she still shifts considering she's done nearly 100k!
