I must say they did a nice job with the xbox version even tho it seems slightly easier. But I hate the whole concept of achivements. Much more fun and humble to put up goals for yourself to do instead of being semi-forced by the gamedesign to always try to attain the newest achivement and then brag to people like here :)

At the time of the video i was 4th on the leaderboards. I hate achievements myself but since i'm caught in a rut i find myself playing for them. This video isn't to brag. It's to help others who are having issues.

That "sweet spot" is lower.

Just go overlap with the boss then it always work.

The 360 version is definitely different than the arcade version. On the arcade version i can hit that "spot" every time. But, since I wouldn't ever play a level with no powerups, its all good (:

Looks like with the remake version it doesnt let u just lower down and kill that thing instantly w/ a plasma cannon shot, even without going for daredevil...

I think that aspect is the same. I can't recall if the arcade version took 1 or 2 hits, but it takes 2 hits using the beam shot.

Those are some wicked piloting skills. I tried to get this achievement last night and got to the boss of Level 1 but could not crack it. Need more time improving me thinks. Nice vid.

do you always have to kill the eye before hitting the main part of the boss, in stage 1?

You don't have to hit the eyes to kill the boss. Hitting the little alien dude will remove those orb looking things. if that is what you are referring to

well then i found the same glitch you did. in trying to do dare devil, i "walked" right up to the little alien dude and blasted him at point black range multiple times, in multiple spots (up and down) and nothing... until i killed the eye above him. i thought it was odd, and when i read your comments i think it's a glitch. a lot of collision detection glitches in this game. very inconsistent with the old r-type arcade and even itself!!
