  • LOCAL UNION 1136...SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DRYWALL FINISHERS

  • i AM VERY GOOD DOING THIS. AND I CAN SAY THAT THIS GUY DOES A ACCEPTABLE JOB

  • what a rough cunt, wouldnt let that prick dryline my dogs house

  • @pelvi3a are you covered in warts?

  • chris da troll

  • patrick DA looser!!!!!!

  • El estilo es bueno por una razon muy simple es rapido ,abria que ver si el acabado del masillado que da bien ,repito es un estilo bueno por que es rapido,

  • very nice job patrick. However there are a lot of edges. Too much sanding for me. I only brush down not sand.

  • Looks like you LOVE to sand.

  • @YOURDEAD74 looks like you're a troll.

  • @ShuttleSpaceCA looks like you can't take a hint, plaster less, sand less, save time, save money. Amateur!

  • @YOURDEAD74 yeah this is some kind of joke.

  • Master Plaster my ass

  • @YOURDEAD74 What's your problem?

  • @ShuttleSpaceCA I am a professional taper and work with many other professional tapers all the time. Sorry to break it to you, but you kinda suck.

  • I have seen good and bad tapers. This guy Patrick is one of the good ones. Keep going man. "Finisher 26 Years"

  • I am an English Plasterer and i live in the U.S, believe me this taping and jointing method is so bloody time consuming and the end product is inferior to a plastered wall.

  • @gorringeman Plasterering?? Fuck off taping is a decorators job. Ofc Taping is inferferior lmao. BUT it's completely viable in situations where there is a lot of movement, especially in loft conversions etc.

  • @wowknobs I said it was inferior I am a plasterer but Americans just want fast and cheap the money is so bad paying taping and mudding I don't do either anymore.

  • this is an amature taper he does not know what he is doing, first off you use paper tape for your flats butts and angles not mesh it WILL crack later. As for the comment by roryston yes you do need tape no matter how good your boardman is, it WILL crack otherwise, i think ill get my crew and i to show how it is really done! 21 years experience!!!

  • nice song nice job

  • lol Patrick is A class finisher, the best and fastest there is ;-)

  • a good taper shouldnt be getting his hands dirty

  • Anyone know this song? Thanks!

  • It's from YouTube's own AudioSwap library, I can't see the info though.

  • wud not buy a house that is taped i am a plaster from northern ireland an had 2 go down south to skim a wall after it was taped u shuda seen d state of the house and it only 2 year old now 2 months later the cliand wants the whole house skimmed!!!! tapen-cowboys game!!

  • well maybe the person who taped the house is worthless. The world if full of people who think they can finish drywall but there are few who really can. I live in the house i built and i finished it. To this day there isnt one inch that needs to be fixed

  • this was done by a massave contractor! no doubt there is people who are very good at it and will do a good job but you need to be very good to leave it with a nice reliabe finish

  • drywalling easy game really within 5 months of my second building job i was boarding theres fuck all to it flush screws and neat cuts with no gaps on the joints we dont tape and joint the gaps though we actully skim the whole board tbh i think its a lot better thing to do i mean think about it you aint gona go to somones house and tape there crack in the wall are you drywalling is a mugs game easy money easy work 1 mix will do a whole flat

  • what a mess lol

  • I like this video, the guy is good, you don't have to use mud before mesh tape, but he probably saw a separation on the seams, I do that myself, good speed on screws for first coat, though at the end screws seem to be wider than it should, on the top corne bead, you should try to go sideward, couple of strikes you'd be done, this is the way to go, You DON'T PLASTER ON COMERCIAL WALLS, AND PLASTERING IS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T TAPE REMEMBER THAT.

  • nw then h

  • Don't know who hung the drywall but screws about 24" OC does't cut it.

  • Ha! a new complaint.

    Very inventive troll attempt.

  • wher do u le

  • '60% of newbuilds in England are done using this procedure'

    Says who? show me proof

Jointing is for people who cannot plaster, FACT

  • Yes, he is good isn't he.

  • why is everyone screwing the guy is just showing you how to tape n join he aint showing off or anything. guess some people dont like to see someone better than them so they hate on them....

  • this is taping and jointing HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with plastering, they use this insteasd of skimming the whole wall

  • Sorry to confuse you like that.

The refund is in the mail.

  • yeah its faster , make less shit less sanding and why cover the wall with plaster when you can only level the gap in the joint ??

you probably like to be paid for all of that useless job :P

  • are you people nuts ?? this is ames taping not plastering!

  • sorry..heh!

  • i dont video my work, i just plaster, finish come home and do something else, i dont even own a camera.

plastering is my living, not some sort of ego enhancing outlet

    just a job.

    and im not Scottish!!

  • im a plasterer, and i dont know what i have just seen, the guy has no routine,no hawk and trowel, its like watching a newbie, he just jumps from one place to another, im sure he is good at what he does, it just doesnt come across here.

  • When he finishes, he moves on.

Everyone has different techniques and tools.

This is taking him what...2 or 3 min to get 36 sf. ready for paint. Show us your mastery of the plastery then.heh

  • amen thats the way i work its clean neat , take less time less sanding less shit. I've seen video of people skimming and entire wall but for what ??? i guess they like to put plaster on the wall for nothing and being paid for it .. oh that might be it :P

  • but for what? to create a harder more firmer surface than just plain plasterbaord can offer,

one that dont just cave in with the slightest knock

  • When you tape & joint you don't use a hawk & trowel, you use a taping knife & mudpan.

  • god dam it i wish you putty fucks would mask something off first,,,

  • Captaindrywall????? captain know fuck all more like

  • is there a reason why you dont just scim the whole walls , if you happen to bang into a drywall it is ruined . if you try to repair the paper just peels. i ve plastered all my walls and find the finish to be more durable and robust and more easily repairable. Especially here in uk alot of plastering is re-skims , I just wonder why other countries prefer drywall . I have reboarded most of my house but w wouldn t drywall i just re plastered and it isn t really more time consuming . why do you ?

  • Good plasterers are hard to find here and this serves the purpose. No need to plaster over a smooth wall. If called for we'll use double 1/2" or 5/8 fire rated. Good primer and paint makes the paper hard. cheers.

  • johno3884, 60% of newbuilds in England are done using this procedure and it costs around 70% less with the same end finnish, in these hard economic times it would be wise to get on board as this is the future of poor England. Fortunately I employ 2 of each and use them as needed depending on the base wall quality.

  • sorry 22wall it wasnt a dig i was just an enquiry . I thought that it was a climate thing or something, what sort of plaster do you use for this?

  • Johno3884, OK mate no problem. It's not plaster it's jointing compound. A professional drywall taper & jointer will do a grade 4 finish which will be built up of 3 coats over the taped seam, each one getting wider but thinner in depth and will result in a perfect finish, usually better than plaster, unless the plasterer is absolutely perfect!

  • fuck me mate looks like your tickling the wall just another twat who couldn't make it on the trowel

  • i have not see you do any video at you good job yet mate ...prik

  • Man, this is alot harder than you're making it look. Mine looks like shit. Any advice on how to fix it?

  • Either you have the gift... like the Scottish, or it takes a long time to get good.

To start, use a compound that's easy to sand, build up small layers, use coarse sandpaper, maybe 60 grit and a big sanding block between layers and shine a light across the wall, it will highlight the lumps. After your final coat use at least 100 grit paper. Good luck.

  • haha

  • looking for workers in drywall, jobs in eastern europe

  • It is ok to add water, if its thinner he must be. I did see him adding some dry 45 compound to it also, and mixing with a drill mixer. Cheers.

  • your drywall mud seems to be much thinner than mine... how do i get mine like that?

    ok to add water??

  • I'll repeat myself:

I'm getting tired of you armchair experts.

Any further criticism from the Peanut Gallery will be met with extreme prejudice. If you think you are better, prove it with a video.

  • no skill what so ever,if u can piss u can dry wall,get a real trade m8,get a hawk n trowel!!!

  • Busy week for the yobs.

  • A fine example of extreme trolling. Thanks.

or if u r in the UK - Dry lining

Belfast Jamie!!!! the reigning king of Drywall!!!

    wowooo!! follow me!!!

    Im a dry-liner!!!

(to the tune "follow me Im the pied piper")

  • are you using scrim at the start???

  • Scrim?

Tape...... is not scrim..... although it does a similar job!!

  • hes doing something ,i just cant figure it out, hes painting stipes on the wall.why

  • This is plaster and he's making the wall smooth.

Do you live in a cave?

  • as was noted in the comments, this is not plastering, or skimming, which is really hard to do unless youve trained at it a long time, this is taping a something, never seen this been done in my country, we slab the room ,tape the joints ,put bead to the corners and edges , and call the plasterer to come a skim or plaster as its more commonly known.thats all folks.

  • top class work mate 10/10 drywall/dryliniing is as much of a skill as plasetering always good to see another treadsman at work

  • Poor and too harry ! If you do work do it good.

In Europe we do it good!

  • Another poor harry troll, what a miserable place this is.

  • I run a drywall supply business with boom trucks and the like. Your job is fine, but it is not plastering. It is drywall. Get over it.

  • All you're doing is mudding the "seams." The job you're doing is fine, but the only thing you're guilty of is titling the video wrong.

  • LOL YouTube, home of the trolls.

  • This is NOT Plaster. Drywall is cheap and sucks ass!! Learn a real skilled trade

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • welldone,is this drylineing ??

how does it work jst scrim th joints and skim the joints ?then how does it work ? ?

    thanks rikki

  • This is "Jointing"

  • as long as the final finish is up to scratsh who cares how he gets there we all have different methods

  • nice job , is it quicker than skimming ?

  • Tie me kangaroo down sport its starting to look like summat. never tried skimming proper with hand boaed and trowel. or even better float and skim the wall

  • My loony bun is fine Benny Lava.

  • oh my god!!, who the fuk tought u t do that u r wasting time and making work for yourself, if u want ur scrim t stik that much then unibond 2" each side of the joint before scriming is not rocket science.

  • I'm getting tired of you armchair experts.

Any further criticism from the Peanut Gallery will be met with extreme prejudice. If you think you are better, prove it with a video.

  • oh my god. im putting my prices up. now i know why my customers stand behind me all day. dude you are SHIT..

  • I assume you work by the hour, because if not you would be using at minimum a tube and applicators and at most a bazooka and boxes.

You see pretty good doing it by hand, although you should use a hawk and trowel.

  • dude why the fuck do u mud easy tape in it's sticky

we just stick then run the box ,ready to top

  • Yes, after seeing your videos we are humbled.

    Not.
