This is my all-time favorite version of this song--at the beginning. Michael J. Fox did all the guitarwork himself and he did a great job and sang it very well--at the beginning, but then he ruined it. I am one of the likes--not the dislikes, but I sure agree with the band members and the audience on this one. He ruined it in the end. I guess they thought it was funny. Too bad.

It's not really my taste either, but in the movie it worked to show the generation gap between Marty and the generation of his parents even though they all were the same age. It IS funny.

However, when he chose THAT SONG to destroy, it was just in poor taste. That song wasn't just a Chuck Berry song, but it was a Hall of Fame song. Anything Chuck Berry would have been in poor taste, because it wasn't that type of song. A song by "The Who" or a band like them would have been more appropriate. Then he could have ended by smashing the guitar too,
