  • Best Welsh actor next to Burton and sheen!

  • a 13 year old freddie starr was in violent playgroung

  • Came in on this YT at random & was reminded of SB's powerful persona. Read comments as one does & as a result feel rather ashamed to be a member of the human race ~ as I have frequently felt when reading many other YT comments ~ due to the staggering depths of verbal depravity/cowardice in anonymity which SO many resort to in modern UK. What Oh WHAT has gone wrong with us all in this once proud nation which once led the world in SO many ways?? GOD HELP US.

  • Besides seeing and hearing Baker, it`s also nice to see MacDonald Hobley (the interviewer) again. He was a regular during the times of British B & W TV, as those of my ageing years will know..

  • Thank you for posting this. He was a great actor.

  • There's summit about this dude in the Guns of Navarone, that's just so god-damn sexy, and that's coming from a straight guy!!!!!

  • A great actor, much missed.

  • He does cut a striking resemblence to Morrissey.

  • `Hell Drivers' was my favourite film of his, with its mainly British all star supporting cast of William Hartnell, Sean Connery, Patrick McGoohan, David McCallum, Gordon Jackson, Sid James, Alfie Bass & Herbert Lom, basically almost everyone except Peter Firth.

Well worth Checking out if anyone hasn't seen it yet.

  • And you Frank are a silly little boy.

  • @FrankClanton - you have your opinion but i happen to consider hell drivers as one of the all-time greatest british films that was ever made.

  • It was a stupid film with a stupid story.

  • `The Guns Of Navarone' was better than `The Double Deckers'.

  • The Guns of Navarone was just a piece of crap with an ANCIENT cast.

  • @PeterFirthFan - obviously, you are not talking about the same film, one of the best war films ever made.

  • The Guns of Navarone was a piece of fucking CRAP. All the actors were far too old.

  • @FrankClanton - i happen to disagree. i love the guns of navorone. your opinion only. middle-aged actors can still be effective as soldiers.

  • I'm glad Stanley Baker died of lung cancer at only 48. I wish the talentless wooden draft dodging coward Peck had as well.

  • @FrankClanton - well, i think you've shown everyone what kind of a person you are. clearly, you have no sense of compassion for someone who suffered a great deal towards the end of his life

  • He brought it on himself.

  • @FrankClanton - through smoking yes. but that doesn't mean that he deserved to die and such a young age. what about his wife and children? what about their loss?

  • Maybe he should have thought about them all the years he was smoking 40 cigarettes a day.

  • What fucking business is it of your years how many fucking cigarettes he smoked a day?

  • @FrankClanton - that's his choice isn't it? it isn't for you to judge.

  • You wanker!! LOL You fucking little turd!!

did you enjoy listening to the radio last night??

    LOL

  • @k1IIer2one - take a stress tablet, you silly little sandwich.

  • @k1IIer2one - no mate. you are a stupid, lowlife piece of filth. no wonder you haven't any friends on youtube, unless they are like you of course. YOU have been warned.

  • @FrankClanton You sick little parasite, glad because people have died of cancer. Both actors you mentioned were towers of greatness in their profession and made a myriad of classic, era-defining films. What the fuck have you ever done in your life to inspire people, like these two men did. Grow up and get a life, tosser.

  • @FrankClanton I'm glad this sadistic lunatic's account is suspended...it's only a shame that when his worthless arse was suspended, his pathetic, negative, idiotic ramblings weren't also flushed down the virtual toilet! Anyone who would espouse gratitude that someone, with the exception of murderers and pedophiles, had died is so devoid of redeemable qualities that they deserve naught but contempt or ridicule!

  • Yeah but Baker did cause his own death.

  • Putting aside the tastelessness of your proclaimation (after all, I'm sure you'd look down on someone chiming in on a death of one of your family members), I'm certain your theory is based on your own opinions about smoking, and thus you really don't know if Baker died by his own actions, or because of something else.

Which means your pronouncement is both obnoxious and completely flawed! Rather like claiming a hijacking victim is responsible for their death because they chose to fly!

  • His official site says he smoked 40 cigarettes a day, plus cigars.

  • @andell1 Agree with you there!

  • its to bad he did not live longer than he did

  • died far too young

  • Excellent.

I would love a copy on a dvd.

  • this interview is on the 'special features' of the 'hell drivers' dvd

  • I now have this on dvd. It is perfect quality.

Have you any Stanley Baker films to swap?.

  • other good films his been in is Robbery,Perfect Friday

  • What about 'Guns of Navarone' & 'Zulu' ; pitty he died so young

  • He was hardly in Guns of Navarone, which was a bad movie anyway.

  • Yes he was ; he didnt SPEAK as much as the main leads but he had loads of screen time ; i think he played a good part and YOU think its a bad movie do you ? that doesnt mean it is at all ;what's a BAD anything ?

  • Baker just stood around wearing his wig and not doing anything. They were all far too old, it would have been better if Baker had played Mallory.

  • @PeterFirthFan - and yes, stanley baker did speak and he did do his fair share. he was hardly out of the film until the moment when his character was killed off.
