yeah ide spend 60 bucks on ANY decently made B5 game. game developers come on and make a game and collect a paycheck, i want to engage a Mimbari war crusier before i die.
@B5guy that might be an interesting idea, where you could be part of the military or civilian force. Come one you have to give the care bares something. A game where you could be apart of the IPAX and explore worlds or engage in interstellar trade. That could be an interesting mmo.
@JukoDDT Depends what time period i think, a after the fifth season they had some pretty powerful tech in the form of the warlock cruisers, which could stand up to a mimbari war cruiser. Good thing the shadows left though, otherwise our asses would have officially been kicked.
There is a freeware babylon 5 game that actually uses Newtonian physics and has been pretty well developed, it is called babylon 5 i've found her, there are currently no good videos on youtube of it though and the learning curve is fairly steep. Graphics have also been improved alot. The main thing is to customize your controls so you can move and shoot in any direction when you need too.
It's the last line of one of the B5 books, the name sucks but the game is pretty fun if you put enough effort in to bind your controls right and get the physics down, its as close to flying a starfury like in the show as you will ever get in a video game.
what about now there wasn't even enough news passed around to tell anyone anything. By the way you can create a white star ( well cut down version of one) on the game Dark Avatar and Dread Lords. Its hard to find the right parts but if you have the look commited to memory then you can build one.
If you are interested. There is a group called BUDA 5. They created a mod for Independence War II. It does not have a B5 story, but it will pull a TC on all the ships and stations. If your interested, you can usually find a copy of I-War2 for cheap. (On its own, the game is worth it anyway.) ^^
It's really a terrible shame that this game was cancelled. Some forward thinking game developer should make a game based on Babylon 5 - but not strictly a space combat sim.
Instead it should combine the best elements of an RPG, FPS, tactical combat shooter, and space combat sim. Something along the lines of a combination of the best parts of Halo 3, Bioshock, and Mass Effect.
Primarily PC, when games are made for console and ported to PC, it never works out quite so well. Not enough content, not the right command set. It deserves the more complicated commands available to PC, and more than that, the mod-ability. Any game would be aimed at a maturer audience.. much like the series.
True, but think of the potential of this game with the PS3's Sixaxis controller. The motion sensing capabilities applied to a starfury would be undeniably entertaining and addicting. I'd definately shell out $60+ for a game like that.
i think commanding a destroyer and working up to general would be more interesting, the only way i'd want to do a figher game is if it was a 3rd person rpg, its no fun being trapped inside a cockpit.
Current mid-range gaming pcs have enough power to run a real-time B5 sim that looks better than the tv series. Too bad hardcore sims are almost nonexistant.

I would like to see Babylon 5 as a MMO where you can train as a fury pilot or casually stroll along the Station.

Realistically, the Earth Alliance wouldn't last that long against the Minbari, let alone the shadows.

@JukoDDT It'd be the battle of the line all over again, except this time without the surrender.

I picked up a copy of "Babylon 5 : shadow wars" at a second hand store. I see people say it was unreleased. Hmmm..... I wonder how much its worth!

So my question is WHY did they shut her down? Making that game could have been a wise move from what I've seen and heard.

Not to mention the way that it kinda ties in to the characters controlling the Starfury by moving their heads.

The space-sim genre reached its zenith at around 2000 but its all but gone now from the "mainstream" gaming developer storyboards.

Damn, that game actually looks like a good game, for an IP based on a TV show ;)
