  • great job with Jade. Remarkable progress from her first video. I have been studying autism and had to do a paper for class on this. Thank you for sharing your video progress. I am so glad Jade has a wonderful mom like you.

  • She is a wonderful and beautiful child. I cannot tell she has Autism. She is interacting with you and responding to you very nicely. You have done an excellent job as a mother!

  • can you believe I had a doctor once tell me she was profound?

  • You can be really proud of her, and of yourself!!!

  • Jade reminds me of my dd so much, but we were lucky that GFCF along with dye & preservative free foods have helped bring her speech from a 15 mo. level to 24 mo, scattered up to 36 mo. speech development in 4 mo. When doing just GFCF it didn't work, but removing the dyes was the trick. She is begins a weekly intensive program in our new state: ST (2hr), OT (2 hrs), PT (2 hrs), and IBI (24 hrs)& behavioral respite (30 hrs) support. I have high hopes for where she'll be developmentally next year.

  • When my daughter was much smaller, I kept her 6 months on GF diet and that was the best time as behaviour and gastro problems goes. I just don't want to do the last step on diagnosing the celiac, the small intestin scope, I am a nurse and I know what can happen during a scope and I also know how "clean" and safe hospitals and procedures are...not!!!

There is definitely a link between AS and gluten intolerance!

  • My daughter(11yo) and I were diagnosed with AS. My daughter tested positive for gluten intolerance (plus eggs and milk), also, but I have a hard time finding a gastroenterologist that would convince her to be gluten free (or put a celiac dx. on writing, so I can tell the school not to let her eat their horrible food).

  • just wondering is jade on a GF/CF diet? congratulations on the progress..

  • nah, that diet was HELL! we tried, for 8 months, and decided to take a break, and didn't see any difference. Jade is doing wonderful, she improved GREATLY once we treated her Primary Immunodeficiency, and cleared up all her GI problems.

  • Jade has made incredible progress - I commend your efforts and perserverance. She's a brillant and beautiful little girl - I wish her nothing but the best..and hope this is only the start to her developing independence. thank you for sharing your personal videos and jade's wonderful story with us - it truly helps me as a counselor working with autistic kids...thanks again.

  • I am stuedent speech language therapist and was wondering what do you think made Jades progress so fantastic? regarding services..for example did you get diagnosis early? how old? and by whom? what services were availabile to you post diagnosis?

  • Jade was diagnosed at 22 mos old, and has had 2-3 hours of speech therapy each week since then. We also made biomedical interventions that have greatly helped her medically. And we used Jade's natural environment to promote language skills in ways that were meaningful to her.

  • Go Jade! She's so smart and you're such a great mom. She's doing so well. Ruby finally got her diagnosis last week. She was diagnosed with moderate autism because of the speech delay, I think she'll be mild once she starts to talk a bit more.

  • Thank you for these videos, Mom...Jade is precious!

  • Jade is too smart!

  • wow!!!! When was this??? That is amazing, I am soo happy and excited for you!!! Way to go Jade!!!

  • "Little Dolphin" loud and clear! Does she still sign? Could the sign for 'more please' be used to prompt page turning? Or do you keep these lessons seperate?

I think these are amazing videos, thank you for letting us see this!

  • Believe it or not, this isn't a "lesson" I had planned. Jade loves to do this. Her willingness to learn has greatly benefitted her progress. We do use more please, and other signs for many things.

  • could you please give an estimate of the percantages of kids that are diagnosed with autism?

  • 1 in 150 some estimates and 1 in 165 other estimates

  • Quite the cutie! She's lucky to have such a patient mom!

  • O_o well, at least she wants to do it. You don't have to make her do it.

  • She is beautiful!

I look to her and I think she is doing well like my little boy.

Many videos from you looks like my life with my son.

    I wish you the best!!!
