@IamMagPie Well Amtraks California Zephyr is basically the same route except in California it uses the Southern Pacific route instead of western pacific.

i'll be on the Zephyr on 06/22/09 to 06/24/09 from Chi to Emeryville, im psyched, im looking forward to the awesome scenery and one magnificent trip. I did the SW Chief two years ago and the Coast Starlight last summer when it wen through the Tehachapi Loop, another railfans dream which i'll never forget :)
