Look at "global warming". The UN keeps suggesting a global carbon tax. Then, check your news to see all the cold snaps, blizzards, just plain cold ass weather lately. Then, read the reports that ice is INCREASING in the Antarctic. Then, read the reports that polar bear numbers are increasing. Then... you get the picture. It's a sham with one goal: Global Power. Help me out here. I thought that the new purpose of this treaty was to allow other countries full rights of our waterways. In other words, at the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack, the UN will have free access to come here and help control us with their armies. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for your interest. The treaty is not about defense at all, but about the corrupt, anti-American UN becoming the owner of the oceans, controlling access and enacting a 'world tax' to generate billions for the UN. One example: US subs in US waters would have to travel on the surface--vulnerable to attack. Also, the UN could deny the US from ocean oil drilling while allowing Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, etc. to drill. The US would have no veto.

The US can always invite other countries to enter our waters to defend us, that is always our right and needs no treaty—yet under LOST, the UN might be able to block that.

@TCCTV You completely misunderstand this treaty like a lot of Americans. The origins of this treaty are in the Common Heritage of Mankind principle of Arvid Pardo, a Maltese national. The common heritage principle lays down a mechanism whereby the resources of the high seas (common heritage) that are not accessible to less developed countries are managed by a single international body so that developed countries like the US cannot exploit them. This is about GREED, not sovereignty

Frank Gaffney was on Glenn Beck just the other day talking about L.O.S.T. In this video though, Frank has hope and believes that it will not even reach the senate. Well, I am sorry to say that due to miscoverage by the media and ignorance on our part, this treaty has made it to the floor of the senate. It failed to see ratification before because there were more republicans in the senate. Now there are dems and we will see in one month whether or not this thing gets ratified.
