Actually we do have some idea why yawns are contagious. It deals with mirror neurons in our brains, which allow us to copy others. (If you see me do a cool dance move, it's the mirror neurons that allow you to do it back at me.) These mirror neurons imitate what ur regular neurons would do if you were actually doing the action. We just don't know why they become incredibly active when someone yawns.

As for asians- I know at least Korea has 10 hour school days, so education is highly valued. Not sure about other asian countries though.

FYI hank carpet baggers are white northerners in post civil war america who went down to the south to help out the oppressed blacks and help bring equality. Which ultimately failed but the idea was nice. They are called carpetbaggers because they often came down south with nothing but what they could fit into a carpet bag.

I have a theory on why zombies are so popular! In today's society, individuality is treasured. Putting people into stereotypes or profiling is frowned upon because it takes away that persons individuality and forcing them to be something they might not be. We are all allowed to be our own person and That's Great! Zombies on the other hand represent the opposite of this. They are one huge, unthinking, cruel, and disgusting mass, all of them are the same! This is why I think zombies are popular.

See, I keep telling my family that grapes are bad for dogs, but their reaction is constantly, "I've never heard that (so it must not be true). I've heard onions are bad for dogs, but not grapes (therefore it must not be true)." Then they feed one of our dogs a grape, and every time I basically turn into the -are you f-ing kidding me- meme. This is ridiculous.

Carpetbaggers were actually what southerners called northerners who migrated south after the civil war to gain political and economic influence in the face of the exconfederates. They were called carpetbaggers because they were said to be able to fit all of their belongings in a carpet bag (meaning they weren't planning on staying in the South for long.)

It was done by The American 8th Air Force and Britians RAF (Royal Air Force) and they delivered arms, supplies and secret agents into enemy occupioed Europe. But I don't know why they where called that. I think it was just a code name.

As for asians- I know at least Korea has 10 hour school days, so education is highly valued. Not sure about other asian countries though.
As for yawning- it evens the pressure in your head. When you see someone else do it, your mind thinks there is a pressure change outside then makes you yawn to even it up again.

Can lessons be taught like this in schools? (In the form of random/interesting facts pertaining to the subject at hand being blurted out in enthusiastic ways, that is.) I think it would be much more stimulating and memorable than the monotone lecture and transcript regurgitation most of my teachers seemed to be so fond of.

The reason yawns are contagious is because when you see someone yawn, your body thinks, "Hey, there's not enough oxygen in the air!", which isn't good for it so your body yawns to try and get as much oxygen as it possible can before the inevitable happens. In other words, our bodies are selfish and want all the oxygen that's left for itself.
