  • This is so good.

  • This is definitely more what I imagined. Sirius and Remus are more like what I had in mind. Plus, Wormtail is much better in this that the movie as well. They kind of cartooned him a bit in the movie.

  • :D I love the creativity!!!

  • For a low budget production this was incredible and you couldn't have chosen a better chapter from any of the books. I was so disappointed that the film decided to leave out the marauders because like a small group of people I prefer them to the next generation. I think they would have been much more fun to read about. But you can blame the film makers. They have to make cuts to make the film watchable within time. I love David Thewlis but this is what I expected Remus to look like.

  • Maybe it's just me but when Harry yells "Ron" at the begginning it sounds like he's yelling "Lawn!

  • You've done justice to my Remus. I approve.

  • the guy playing lupin looks like colin firth

  • @turkeynuggets567 I thought he looked like Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets

  • Oh my gaaawd. This was lovely, lovely, lovely. The Remus, I daresay, rivals David Thewlis', and I found myself screaming when Snape pushed him to the floor. I was like "NOOO, REMMYYYY." D: This Rem's performance was moving, and his little soliloquy was just like I pictured it when I read the novel.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron were also very good, but the Sirius...he had his moments, but his blocking seemed a little off at some points. The Snape was very creepy, which I loved, hehe. <3 Great work!

  • Nice. I really liked how you used the book as a script. I wish they could do the same for the movies, but this scene was 20 minutes long. Can't have a movie that long.

A thing I found slightly annoying as that a lot of the scenes were too dark and the volume went up and down too much. Also, Hermione was too whiny.

  • Pretty good work considering the fact there was no special effects.

  • Brilliant. Honestly very good!!!!!! I don't mind the film version, but I was unhappy that they cut a lot out. And I love you guys for this. Really really good :)

  • @SironaFlett Thanks a bunch!

  • I prefer this Remus to the one in the movie! =) And Peter in this film is leaps and bounds better than the movie version.

  • Sirius looks like Samara. :D :D :D

  • Amazing, Guys! Vanessa Bellew was great, excelent, amazing and... I don't have words to explain xD she was Hermione Hermione from the book... and Sirius, he was exactly how I imagined the first time I read the book. Oh! :( but I think the only one who can makes Snape is Alan Rickman, sorry

But guys, what the hell are you doing here? You must be on a TV show or on a movie!! You are excelent actors.

Thanks for doing this, I really enjoy it. I miss this scene in the movie.

    U've forgotten Snape!xD

  • I find this amazing - though a Hermione a bit whinier than hoped for.

  • HAHA ITS OKAY!

  • you guys are amazing!! this is fantastic! <3

  • Wahouuu awesome!

I agree with goodbye2468, the guy who play Remus is amazing, he is exactly like I imagine him : always calm !

And there are a lots of good ideas in this adaptation, like the marauder's names engraved in the wall !

(I'm sorry if my english is bad, I'm french ^^)

  • the guy who plays remus used to direct me!! james you rock!!

  • this is SO AWESOME!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • YOUR REMUS IS AMAZING. :D TELL HIM THAT I LOVE HIS ACTING AND I AM INSPIRED.

  • This was a really good adaptation IMO. Almost as good as the movie.

  • lol at 6:45 Me: *first glance* "WOAH, Joey Richter? Oh, wait..." haha Your Remus does like quite a bit like Joey Richter from AVPM/S, though, at least right then...

  • Great video. A lot of fan made videos aren't very good, but yours was a really good one. The only thing wrong was having the Trio arriving at the Whomping Willow in the middle of the day, but that's fairly minor, at least in this video it is.

  • Watch us LIVE in Grand Central!!

Search "VOLDEMORT & DEATH EATERS TAKE OVER GRAND CENTRAL"

  • Very good! :)

  • AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

    Will you be making anymore?

  • i loved the "oh, he'll be delighted"

this was GREAT! but it was 12 years not 13 (in the book anyways) unless of course you're taking creative liberties?

awesome snape btw. actually everyone was very in character!

  • The sad thing is that in some ways, this is better than the real bloody movie.

  • This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Oh, what I would give to see you do the next scene!

  • OMG I LOVE Sirius´s hair XD

  • I have fallen in love with the book again!Though this one was probably my favorite.Actually any with the marauders is my favorite.

  • THIS WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!

I'm going to link to this on my blog and on my Facebook! I love how you showed Remus realizing that Peter was still alive before they even go into the Shrieking Shack, I love the natural lighting, I love how you guys worked the cameras, heck, I love everything. It's amazing that you guys were able to create this. How many cameras were used? Did you have to build any of the sets, or did you just happen across them? Are there more videos like this?

  • cool, im glad you liked this movie. i'm the one who directed this and played lupin.

no, we only had one camera, and we shot everything on location in this film.

the shack itself was the upstairs rooms of an old, turn of the century schoolhouse/church that was on someone's property and was only being used for storage for the family that lived there.

we did build a few things though, like the base of the willow and the four-poster bed in the shack and the wooden door in the tunnel.

  • Anypeople of this production has got a Twitter account? I'd like to follow you...

  • I don't think anyone has a twitter... could be wrong tho. I know all of us have a facebook though.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm glad you liked it.

  • And if we did have Twitter accounts, I can't imagine them being worth the reading. I'd probably just use mine to complain about things.

  • Thank you for the information. I don't have a facebook, unfortunately. But I'll create one. And, well, I showed this short film for all my friends, they loved it! Why don't you do more Harry Potter videos? Some stuff like that! It would be GREAT!

  • This is the guy who played lupin and directed this. we've gotten requests to do more hp videos, and i have been thinking about doing more, but finding the time and the resources are hard now.

although my first thought would be to tackle some of the pensieve scenes with harry/dumbledore from book 6. but thats another discussion. :)

  • It's completly awesome! It's just the thing I ever wanted. The actors are quite good, I love Remus, specially, he's one of my favourite characters and I don't like him in the films. This guy who plays him is perfect for the role, everyone acts very well. Every Harry Potter fan needed a video like that. I'll send it to all my friends!

Thank you! Really! Really! Thank you so much!

  • WOW!! Great job!! The movie just rushes through this part! You made it exactly like the book!

  • this was brilliantly done! much more elaborate than the movie!

    good job.

  • CUTE NICELY DONE

  • wow Amazing, even the most hard core Potter fans will have to agree

  • props!!!!! loved it

  • excellent job guys well done

  • OMG HOW COOL IS THIS?

    AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING JOB!!!

    I LOOOOOOOVE IT :x:x:x:x AWESOME

    really...great great job

  • That was FREAKIN awesome! PLEASE do the DOM finale from OOtP! Rescue that chapter from film massacre like you did with this scene! BRILLIANT!

  • EPIC EPIC EPIC YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING. SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FILM.

I just can't get over how awesome this is. WIN, y'all. WIN.

  • i know this was so much better!! the movie just seemed so rushed at this part

  • This is so much more amazing than all five HP movies combined. Seriously, you guys are amazing actors, and you did such a fabulous job. <333

  • excuse you?

  • my cousin is vanessa..

    ahem.

    hermione.

    (:

  • better to be ugly than to be a bitch huh.

  • This is so cool! You guys did an amazing job!

  • I like it a lot! Except for the whole high noon at the whomping willow thing. Other than that, though... yes. (especially your Remus dude. He doesn't have facial hair, and therefore *wins*.)

  • Comment removed

  • That was an excellent video

I really liked it ya'll did a great jo on it

  • Is there any way I could download this?

  • very well done! :D

  • Great! I love how you used all the right dialogue and how it just fit.

  • SWEET!!!!!!! This was so cool! This is one of my fav. scenes from the book! (My other fav. scenes is from book 5. Yeah, I like the Marauders!)

  • Wow! Amazing! This is much better than the "official" film version in direction, acting and production all around! Bravo.

  • Oh, that was good. Well DONE :)

  • Simply brilliant!

If only this was in the actual film *sigh*

Ah well. I can always watch this =)

  • Wow! This is pretty fab!

  • This is just EXCELLENT :)

I really liked it! Especially because of the imo very very well-chosen music and the great cast... I think this really fulfills the actual importance of this scene...

In the beginning i found it quite hard to understand because the music was a bit too loud but wayne ^^

I honestly find it very sad that you don't have the possibility to tape another scene because in my opinion you were just awesome :)

    Br0t =)

  • lol, that was awesome dude!!. It is just like i imigine the scene when i was reading th book!!!

  • What music did you use for this. I know the ending music is Batman Begins but what score was used for the earlier parts?

  • we used the soundtracks to The Sixth Sense, Alien 3, Interview With a Vampire, and Batman Begins. Each had a different emotional quality but still all sounds like they could fit in the same thriller.(and this film needed to be closer to a thriller than to a children's film) so, each was used to underscore each character. Not that anyone asked, but

    harry/ron/hermione=The sixth sense

    lupin and sirius=Alien 3

snape and pettigrew=Interview with a vampire

and batman begins for the Resolution.

  • You guys are my hero. FINALLY Snape is in character! I mean, I kinda like Rickman but... he doesn't really act like Snape should... Kudos to Ryan Maffel XD

Great cast and loved that Hermione. That's a dream come true, lol. My favourite scene of the book finally in a movie with a great cast (and a Snape and a Lupin that I liked)!

  • By the way, are there plans for anymore? perhaps chapters from GOF or OOTP

  • Unfortunately, no. We've all sort of split up and gone to separate schools across the country, and while most of us are together during the summer, we aren't all. And it was a lot of work and money.

  • This is brilliantly made. This for me is the best chapter in all the HP books. In the movie it was farr too rushed and did not have the intensity that the scene deserved. This is what it should have aimed for. Well done

  • this was excellent! i really liked the overall mood you created. i was really frustrated at the movie version of this scene since it was my fave part of the book. the movie seemed too rushed almost like a theatre run though. i loved how you were able to stay true to the book. 5 stars!

  • Aww, I wish my friends were nerds so we could video tape something like this...lol. I think i'd make a good Hermioneeeeee. :D

  • So you liked it?

  • Black and Lupin were what I imagined them to be. Snape looked the part, but sounded too young. Harry looked great. I expect I would have liked Ron and Hermione better if I haden't seen a Harry Potter movie. I never thought that Ron would be good with curly hair. Hermione was pretty good. Pettigrew was pretty good. I really liked it. 5/5

  • and nice Lupin

  • I like the dialouge comes from the book, Black is a little quiet though. btw, great Black.

(bueno hay detalles en la ilumicacion y el sonido, pero no importa) MAS MAS MAS 10,000,000,000 STARS AND GO TO MY FAVOTITES AND MY PAG!

  • I must say, this is amazing.

    Really great job.

    :]

  • Lord, why wasn't THIS in the actual movie? Why couldn't they make it as close to the actual book without losing the thrill and suspense, like you guys did so flawlessly? Not that I didn't like the movie scene or anything, but this one is simply incredible, the acting superbe, and the entire feel just, excuse the pun, magical.

That, and I really liked your Lupin. He was almost exactly how I pictured him, and I loved his voice. Amazing production.

  • Thanks so much.

The actor playing Lupin is James Ortiz. You can see more of him (as well as Jason Ralph, the actor playing Harry) in the coming production of American Blues at the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory, in the Performing Arts Center in Purchase New York. Opens April 25th, and closes May 3rd.

  • 0.o this was beter than the movie, thank you so much!

  • Bravo!! I was entralled. I would have deffinantly watch this if it was the real movies. This was am amazing job. The acting was great.

  • this could be part of the movie

    its soo good!

  • This is the very best Harry Potter!!! Please show us more of this fantastic production.

  • Out of every scene in all 7 books, this is my absolute favorite, and this did it justice a million times more than the movie did. The characters were much more realistic and more like I pictured them (movie Peter was obscenely caricatured, and Remus and Sirius weren't much better), and the dialogue was EXACT, which made it all the more incredible. I especially liked the carvings of Moony, Wormtail, Padfood and Prongs - they added a really nice touch. Amazing! You made my night.

  • i like the Professor Lupin's voice.

    excellent clip =)

scabbers wasn't hurt during production, tho, was he? o.0?

  • hi, this is James ortiz who played lupin---um, actually, we lost a scabbers during filming outdoors---it was just too hot for him. and we then got a new one, but the good news is that steven is alive and well, and living with one of the PA's on the film.

  • Correction. Steven has since passed. Lets hope all Rats go to Heaven as well.

  • awesome production

  • I thought it was pretty good actually..

  • nice

  • It just goes to show that a large budget might buy fancy special effects and magic tricks, but it doesn't make a story. You guys did an AMAZING job and I thoroughly enjoyed that. The flashback scenes were brilliant. WB should concentrate more on the story and less on the fancy cinematography. I want quality HP films made for the true fans. I want the story the way it was written.

Congrats on a fantastic portrayal of the scene without use of all the fancy technology. i hope you'll make more.

  • I loved it!!!

I always said that if they made a movie with all the sceens of the book (word by word) I would buy it in a heartbeat! Don't care how long it is or how much it is, I would but it!

  • i'd love to make one of these but my friends would never agree. they wish i'd never heard of Harry Potter!

  • top notch

  • That was amazing. Wow. Just wow. o.o And the Sirius in this fan movie is SO much better then the Sirius in the actual movie! I also liked Snape, Lupin and Hermione. x3 The acting was great and almost all of it looked believable! Really good job! You should be proud.

  • (I got cut off. Ahem...)

Admittedly, your Sirius is totally cute, like he's supposed to be, especially in the flashback scenes. But I understand. You work with what you got. The backround music really, really added to it. It's amazing what some good background music can do. This is possibly my favorite chapter in the series, or at least in the top five. It was cool to see it all played out.

  • Well, for a fan film, this is very impressive. The quality of the cinematography (or whatever you call how it looks) is surpsingly good (except in the outside parts, where it looks a touch more low-budge). The acting is consistently not crappy, as well. I found Lupin particularly believable. Really, the only thing as far as the acting that kept me from totally buying it were the ages of the actors, none of whom were actually the right ages....

  • Do you think you will still do DH, Deathly Hallows? That would be more than great.

Again, this is a really, really wonderful production you have done. You can be proud.

  • nearly 18:00... if lupin's a good actor then for snape there's no word. This is, wow.

  • 14:26

I LOVE Lupin. He is so... so... oh my god. Such a very, very good actor.

  • Holy.... I LOVE THIS!!!

The marks prongs, padfoot, moony, wormtail made it so much more real and shows also they were boys and best friends and the like! OH GOD!

  • 10:52, I am sorry but I'm sure I will post like four or five more times. SIRIUS! I have goosebumps when I watch him!!! The scene he freaks out is so much more real than in the movie! BRILLIANT! And no I don#t stalk you I just am sure I wont remember any of what I want to write in the end so I want to write it now

  • thanks so much! we had a really good time putting it together.

    glad you enjoyed it!

  • exactly to 09:03 I could watch without commenting but no second further. This is literally awesome. Breathtaking. You seriously must be a fan of Harry Potter when you do something like this. I admire oyu -- the acting is so good! I love Hermione and Lupin, they're the best in there. Though Lupin looks quite a bit too young, I guess..

But the sceneries you did so well! This is wonderful, thanks for sharing so much!!

  • my god i love this

  • good

  • Very well done!

This has to be the best non-JK Rowling Harry Potter-related creation I've ever seen! (including, fan art, fiction, videos, wizard rock, etc.) Great job and I certainly hope you have more scenes planned for the future!

  • Have you seen Order of the Phoenix? They used a real dog this time for Sirius, an Irish wolfhound, so you guys got it right! I think they should have stuck with the CGI Sirius from PoA, it looked better.

  • Please do "The Prince's Tale"!!!!

or at least "Snape's Worst Memory".

Or the OTHER Shrieking Shack scene - you know which one...

  • very good production... incredibly intense visual images, especially for a homemade production. Had the homemade (slightly Soap Opera quality) but that can't be helped. It was very well done and I thought you used your resources fantastically. Good acting too!

I know how difficult it is to make a film homemade because I love to do it! This could defiantly be seen as a god of homemade movies...

  • snape looks too young. he's cute though. : P

  • BTW, in the movie they couldn't make the last scene half an hour, although the die hard fans might like this kind of version better.

  • That was awsome =) I thought the movie did a good job with most parts of the last scene though, then again, the 3rd installment (book and movie) is the one I've forgot most of, definitely should pick it up again someday. I also completely forgot that Lupin named the Shrieking Shack, that was a complete shocker for me... I'm a sad fan, I know.

    AAnnyyways, great video! 5 stars

  • Wow this is brilliantly done! Fair play! Normally fan videos tend to be a bit crap, but this here would pass for the real movie (if it had the consistent actors) and also if it had a higher budget for special effects. But well done!

  • I like this better than the way the film did this scene - and Peter is so much more like I imagined him.

  • Wow, that was fantastic. Definaetly more entertaining than the movie, you managed to capture the emotion of that scene brilliantly and the guy that played Peter did a great job. The flashbacks were cool too. I also like the set design on the shack, it looked exactly as I'd pictured it. Great job.

  • Lol, that's one BIG cat! Great video!

  • Amazing how the actors match the characters so well.

    Lupin most of all.

    really well done.

  • Is this supposed to be serious? That bit with Ron falling to the ground and sliding off had me fitting with laughter lol

  • aww guys that was AWESOME!!! 10mtimes better thatn the real movie =D hermione got really annoying though....

  • this is effing sweet, snape is a bit wierd but all the characters are really accurate!

  • The Hermoine girl dont act like hermoine. Hermoine is suppose to be very calm and relax and Proud. Hahas =DD great job too!

  • that was so good. i especially liked lupin.

    great job guys.

    make more

    =]

  • I agree with some other posters that you should do "Snape's Worst Memory" !

Also, the Sirius is the flashbacks is SEXY as hell.

  • That was great! I can't believe it wasn't proffesionals who made this!

  • cool!

  • oh my god, the guy who plays lupin is EXACTLY how Lupin is in the books! its uncanny!

  • yes indeed. i like this lupin better.

  • I am blown away by all of you're great acting skills. You guys can act a million times better then the actual cast! I loved how crazy sirius was and I loved Lupins speach.

  • Just - fantastic!! Really does justice to the book

  • brilliant!

  • awesome!! acting is very professional. facial expressions, tone of the voices.. just incredible! i guess you are studying drama. also editing is perfect. you rock!! expecting more HP scenes from you guys :D

  • Well done! i done usually like home ones cos there usually rubbish but this well good.

  • i decided to read the this book and just finished it in a few days and im suprised how close u kept it to the book in the film warner bros couldnt even be bothered to drag ron by his arm but by his leg lyk u did and u actually showed the leg dissapearing like the book unlike

some time after lol..brilliant in every way i especially loved the scenes with lily and james and pettigrew dying it reli made u realise wat was racing thro harrys mind at tht moment u cud have lit it up a bit better tho

  • loved snape btw =]

  • awesome job!! that was freaking great, awesome job y'all.

  • Infintely better than the movie - better casting, better acting. Loved Sirius & Remus & Snape especially. But Harry Hermione & Ron were also great. And Peter was just right as well.

  • Wow, just... wow. This is all kinds of awesome. It's simply perfect. I wish I had enough money and power to fire the current HP directors and put you in their place... You captured the exact spirit of the book, and kudos to the actors, they were wonderful, expecially Sirius, Remus and Snape. I second what was said in one of the other comments: I'd like to see 'Snape's Worst Memory' done by you.

You all are amazing, thank you for sharing!

  • i think everyone would hate you if you did that!!!

  • I absolutely agree. This was just fantastic! We want more scenes, with the same actors!! WOOHOO!

  • Oh man, is your name from that scene in the Half-Blood Prince? LOL

Harry was such a brat, and Snape was such a bully.

  • Yeah, I loved that scene so much! I could pratically see the vein of Snape's forehead exploding XD

  • the actor who plays Lupin is brilliant! He reminds me of a young Ioan Gruffudd. Totally fits the young-Lupin persona.

  • does anybody know what the title is for the video where harry and ron are eating candy and making noises and they changed ron's lion roar to chewbacca from star wars? I CANT FIND IIIIIIITT!!!

  • ...Wow. This is just.... amazing. I'm speechless. I absolutely ADORE your Remus Lupin. THIS is how the movie should have went!

  • this is really, very good! you all did very well and stayed close to the book! you should do more!!!

  • wow that was great! the audio was a bit off...but hell you did a lot better than the actual movie! you kept to the book!

  • WOW, I#m so impressed. That scene was sooo great. Much better than in the really movie. I really liked the way ypu acted Remus and Sirius. Congratulations

  • THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! A looooooooooot better than the movie's version!!! YOU ALL ARE REALLY AMAZING!!! And the names carved in the wood??? That was tearjerking for me! GREAT IDEA!

You have to do Snape's Worst Memory too!!! Then you'll have my heart FOREVER & EVER!!!

  • AMAZING O___O

You've got a great job guys, really!!

I don't belive yet, I mean...this short film is EXACTLY as I've ever imagined the chapter of the third book...I love you so much!! <3<3<3

The actor of Remus Lupin was absolutely PERFECT!! *ç*

And also the others of course...

I'm become one of yours first (Italian) fan from NOW!! ^__^ ***** Brilliant *****

  • I'd LOVE to see you guys do 'Snape's Worst Memory' :D

  • brilliant! you did a great job with this film. there was a little stumbling on the accents but other than that this film had great ideas and ways that it incorporated the story while leaving the book in there.

  • Don't believe my comment posted the first time. Looks a lot better at the premiere, but the technology is more supportive here. And damn & blast, I only wish I'd been a mite more focused - though horrifically miscast, I still could've done SO much better than THAT. Alas, alack.

  • Long, but pretty good! I'm glad you used the book to make this because the movie didn't seem as accurate... and I really like how you pulled in the marauders with their names carved in the wood... really good! I'd be really interested in seeing another scene from the HP books played out... I'm crossing my fingers for another one!

    Yours truly,

    Amelia Bedelia
