I have this season on DVD and i dont think that the caritature is show. But still, this scene is so emotional. Lennie has been there a pretty long time second the Lt. Van Buren.

Jerry Orbach was the best one on this show. He was so great as Lumiere and Lennie Briscoe too. I love him so much sobs.

They don't show the caricature, the ketchup packets, or the second line after "go out with a win". They just cut straight to him walking out.

Made me misty-eyed.. seriously. You couldn't help but like Lennie, and by extension, Jerry. The show wasn't the same without him. I still haven't seen the episode where he gets revenge for the death of his daughter... Would love to have seen that one to cheer him on.

I went to New York one year and one the streets near 8th is Jerry Orbach Way. They also have a Jerry Orbach theatre. He was great.

I saw this episode on TNT once I believe, and they have this ending...but I don't understand why they would take out this ending, since (if I remember correctly) he does say in the beginning of the episode that he's leaving...but all the same I think this was the best send-off of the entire Law & Order series...I grew up with Briscoe, so he was always fun! I miss him...

@Hottamale90210 They don't want to show it in syndication because they don't show the episodes in order, and they think people would be confused to see Lenny Briscoe on the show after they saw him leave the show.

@tiivc I don't know. They show Ray Curtis epiosdes after Refuge. ANd i think this episode has aired recently last week or a cuple weeks back. Unfortuonatley i was at work. both times.
