i bought a 1975 cadillac fleetwood from a auction, it was damaged in the rear quarter panel, i wanted the motor out of it for my 1968 coupe calais, but now i have this perfect parts car for someone whos fixing one of these up, id really hate to scrap it, its like a crime to wreck a cadillac i always say, is there much desire for this model out there?
Caddy's really were works of art. I remember my grandfather had a sky blue 1977 Cadillac Sedan Deville. It had an 8 track in it. He played a lot of Kenny Rogers & George Jones with it.
I've had 5 caddy's but i never owned the "last" of the big boys the 76 model, i had a 74 Sedan Deville with the 472 motor. Back in the day a good friend of mine had a 75 Sedan with the 500cu in motor like yours, he did peel-outs with that huge car. One of the finest american automobiles is by far the Cadillac
Some people say these Cadillacs weren't well-built...I say where are the '76 toyotas and datsuns (nissan)? And, the fuel mileage isn't any worse than a new V-8 powered SUV. GM should have kept the large Cadillacs in production. Mercedes, after all, never downsized their S-Class luxomobiles.
@Mrtriumphchopper: Well, the Japanese cars then were for the most part, better than they are now{although even today, they're a lot better than the Koreans}. There's still quite a few 240Zs and older Hondas still around, AFAIK, but I highly doubt most of the new ones will still be around in 15-20 years.
But yeah, Detroit did a lot better back then, than what people are willing to give them credit for.
nice caddy i have 2 80's cadillacs i wish i had a 64 i missed out on the deal of the century down south car brand new engine trans needed paint and interior work $800 what a steal then i heard it went to the demo derby im still crying to this day them fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this really a 1976? On the "76", the wrap-around turn signals had two strips of chrome going through them. Were they replaced during the restoration with "75" turn signal lights? Regardless, it is a BEAUTIFUL car.
I love these big old AMERICAN slushmobiles, en like the other guys here said, it doesn't matter if that thing guzzles more gas then Dean Martin did whiskey, its all about the sensation and driving experience.
Hey and if you dont like these kind off cars, why you comment or look at the film?
is that a negative or positive comment, big cars are great, plenty of room to stretch out. plus they're way better if you're planning to convert your car to run on somthing else, cause you can put the extra tank or whatever, and the space isn't even missed.
You don't understand. You don't understand because you don't understand liberty, you don't understand freedom. So you keep talking crap about Cadillac's while the rest of us admire them. Damn communist faggot.
Obviously you've never driven one. The power steering and sharp corners of the car allow for precise, easy parking. As far as compact cars being all you need, that is what it is, an OPINION, which you are welcome to have(even if it's ridiculous)
what are you doing here? huh? tell me that, so ur one of those peeps that just search for things you hate then bag on it to piss the likers off well im not sorry to say ur a low punkass fool period you know why they dont put these cars in magazines? you know why u dont like it? cos its not mainstream and let me tell you theres always something better than mainstream
you dont know a beautiful car even when it hits you in the face these were the most comfortable and cool cars ever take ur negative vibes someplace else and work on your taste if you can
I need an opinion...there is this dealership in Chicago selling a 1991 brogham for $17, 000.00 and a 75 Coupe Deville, in good (nearly mint) for $14, 000.00 is that fair prices? I want a 91 but that's too much for one. right? Some one's opinion please
yes it's too much unless it has 100 -5000original miles. I know where there is a 72'Olds Toronado with 125 original miles. I have pictures of this car and you can tell by the windows, chrome, etc. it's a brand new 72' olds. The original tires are on it.. Remember the 2 skinny white walls? Car is yours for $32k
Why? This car would be easier to drive, easier to park, and unless you are wanting to slalom through something, why a tight radius? Oh sure, it sounds like a good thing, but in real life, not a necessity. Drive the big ones!
It is huge but so are full sized SUVs. A 2008Escalade or Suburban has basically the footprint as the last full-sized 1976 GM cars. The mid-70s Caddys were'nt that well built but very reliable. The 1970s Eldorado convertibles were rattle traps compared to the well-built 1960s Cadillacs.
Im getting me a 76 coupe deville d'elegance, it will be all black with all white leather interior with a white ragtop with nice borwn wood grain finishes, but now see it is a lowrider with 24 switches, and see again ALL and I mean ALL metal in the car will be gold plated, I mean I want them plated to the last SCREW!!!! with 120 spoke tripple gold daytons to match the car and some white wall tires, yup I willbe buncing it the middle of the boulevard with it while smoking a blunt! lol

Worst car ever. Our family had a low miles 1976 Sedan Deville in about '81. Thing would run for a minute after you shut it off *cachunk, cachunk*. Wiring spontaneously caught fire at a gas station almost murdering our entire family. Not just the muffler but the entire exhause assembly came of the car when enroute to the airport. Causing us to have to hitchike with all our luggage. Had an 8.2l engine that got 10mpg. Would make this loud noise when you floored it but did very little. POS.
@Duncan36: If you didn't like that Caddy, you'd absolutely loathe a Korean-made car if you knew just how sh***y they were{Don't even get started on cars from Communist China}.
My Dad had a '76 Coupe de Ville, leather, cruise, sunroof (leaky)...12K....Took three complete turns of the wheel to make a 90 degree turn. Turned the wheel with one finger. Oh... sunroof enabled him to flip off motorists. Ah, those were the days.
I miss those massive mid-70s US full-size cars. We had a '74 Olds 98, my grandmother had a '76 Chrysler New Yorker, and a neighbor had a '76 Buick Electra Park Avenue, all about the same size and opulence as your Caddy.
My dad had a 76 Sedan Deville when I got my drivers license. I loved driving that beast. He has Cadillacs ever since but I got to say, that was the one I loved the most!
North Carolina hell yea! I have a 1990 Seville I tried to "superfly" it with an E&G classic grille and a chrome hood goddess woman, I am thinking to go restore the interior next. But I want a more classic big body look and cant do that witha 90 Seville
where do you live ?? l had a 76 coupe de ville and a fleetwood brougham the last of the real cadillacs ,, l am renovating an 85 eldorado here in london ,great vid ,well done
Fleetwood Broughams were the top of the line for the 4 door Cadillacs in 1976. They had two special packages called the Tallisman and the d'Elegance. Both featured specila interior and exterior treatments, the Tallisman having bucket seats and a work desk. The Sedan de Villes were a lower cost Cadillac that could have just as many options as the Fleetwoods. The Fleetwoods were also a few inches longer than the Sedans and had useless foot rests in the rear seats.
Real nice! I had one of 76ers with the 500cu, Georgian Silver. Nothing like that big old hood out front..it Was like driving the living room sofa, lol. What's the typical going sale price on the car you restored?

For everybody that left a negative message here:
Did you EVER have a Ride in one of these car's?
Slow, thirsty... That doesn't matter when you drive one of these things!
It's the feeling of being a King on the road. The original sound of the V8 Engine. And the smooth driving with comfort and Style.
Nobady watches you in a new cadillac or something else "new"
These things are the car's. Speed doesn't matter. It's the feeling of driving 2000KG's
I love it.
