This novel turned movie is a stereotyping worthless piece if shit, Amy Tan is a self-loathing, white cock sucking sellout. She's such a disgrace to her parents and all the Chinese people. It's about White gentlemen rescuing China Dolls from their miserable existence shadowed by their Evil Asian Male counterparts. It's a perfect example of how American mainstream media is racist towards Asians.
If you're ignorant to Asian culture in general, don't bother with this, as you'll be largely misguided.
If you guys really liked this movie, get into Amy Tan's (writer of Joy Luck Club) books. They all follow this theme of the bond between a mother and daughter. They also revolve around a Chinese-American woman searching for identity as a central character. Try the Bonesetter's Daughter next!

This movie was at the height of its power during the early nineties when KKK was so influential in college education and various peer pressures to hate asians!! Hate Asian MEN Luck club
this is an amazing well done film , I seen it back in the theatres when it was out then , I felt all the range of emotions like a roller coaster , wow !!! awesome movie is it out on blue-ray disc ?
This was a great trailer thank you! This is what I asked my daughter for Mothers Day, to watch this with me. I practically had to bribe her but she loved it!
This is my favorite movie of all time. I saw it with my own mother in 1993. She died in 2001 and when I still watch it, I feel like she is right there with me. We laughed, we cried, we hugged. Great trailer.
I like the "four American women...and their Chinese mothers." like, that says so much right there. and I love bittersweet symphony! and my immortal- I had chills by the end.
Anyone can put together a video if they try. But to put it together so that it carries the heart of such a vast, powerful, unforgettable saga and makes those who've seen it cry and those who haven't yearn for it? That's style nobody can teach.
Thanks so much for sharing. I am going to share this with my 16 year old daughter. Put together so well. Brought tears to my eyes. A movie that touches the hearts of women everywhere.
so what if it was a bit blurry?I liked it^^Its my favorite movie of all time.My favorite part is when one of the mothers talks about how her mom was raped and she killed herself(1:37).
That just seemed so sad...great job on this trailer^^
I think the type of clips and their quality only enhance the mood of the film. I think it's great the way you've done it. It makes me want to go watch it again right now too. Great work.
lena's mother seemed like the hardest thing... as she was abused, and then killed part of herself when she killed her 1st born... I was ready to cry when she did it. the pain she had to be in... the actress acted her character out well
Nicely done! I recently watched it and you did a fab job. You even did good job of the critical thinking part which I didn't even get to yet...To think this good movie is the topic of one of my homework..
To explore the relationship between mother's & daughters & the clashing of the 2 cultures & generations. The Chinese parents expect their American born children to think, look & act totally Chinese while the American-born Chinese love their parents but want to just blend in with the culture they were raised in. It was an EXCELLENT book.
Well, it's a very sensitive movie about all the hell the Chinese mothers were put through by the male dominated culture in China at that time. The daughter's learn that it wasn't so easy getting to America & everything comes at cost.
Amen, Asians! We're better than white people!
