  • This is a great song... love it. However the 95 version is better.

  • con't... The original version of the track 'Wanita' appeared only in the 'Ikhlas' album in 1991 and eversince then, any other compilation albums (Cinta Jangan Kau Pergi, Sheila 15, Best of, Anugerah Wanita) are all the 1995 version. Hope this info helps :)

  • Hi algucci,

A BIG thank you for the amazing and detailed information. It's definitely very helpful. I never knew about the background information into the making of the Wanita album. Like you mentioned, the orchestral element sounds great, as well as Sheila's backing vocals.

However, I was not aware of, and so far don't have the chance to listen to the new arrangement of Emosi, Bahagia etc.. That'd be interesting.

Thank you again for sharing the information about this track.

  • Hey there..

Yeah that album was turning point and eversince then, she has been doing her own backing vocals (if she could). Can't blame you for not knowing as it was very rare and a collector's item for those who had the chance to obtain one. Total 11 tracks re-recorded (you heard Wanita..) and out of which, 3 hardly recognisable: Nada + Bahagia & Emosi.

  • Hi algucci,

With all the redone tracks, it sounds like an important album. I can keep on dreaming, but it's unlikely that those limited-version tracks will ever get reissued. Ha ha. You're a very lucky fan to have obtained the CD.

  • con't.. That was the goal of the 'Wanita' album which the production team (then with RAP)also did a brilliant job re-arranging her other popular tracks like Emosi, Bahagia, Persis... The final product was amazing and the production was slick! This 'sound' of hers led to the birth of 'Ratu' album in 1996! Tracks in 'Ratu' has the same arrangement elements. Unfortunately, you can never find the 'Wanita' album again as it was limited edition and was released by RAP (which has since folded)... con't

  • con't.. They took a loong break any finally came up with a 'fresh' take (combining sound arrangement elements from 'Legenda')Before proceeding with 'Ratu' in 1996, the team tried out their 'new' sound with this album; 'Wanita' in 1995. Listen carefully to the track and you will realise that the music arrangements has more accoustic feel (accompanied by an ochestra) to it as well as Sheila doing her own backing vocals (for the very 1st time.. con't

  • Dear oldcdfan,

Actually, you already have the information about this particular recording of 'Wanita'.. this version was indeed re-recorded for the 1995 release of the limited edition: 'Wanita' album (sold in Japan as well as M'sia & Singapore). This album was made partly because the production team while making her 5th studio album (Ratu) came to a stumbling block, needed to find a new & original sound for her... con't

  • I'm American, and I only know of this singer because I once heard on a flight to Bali her song "Di Sisi Mu" and was very impressed. Do you have that song available? I'd like to hear it again.

  • Hi Tokyoite,

Thanks for dropping by. I'm sorry I don't have the track as I'm more of a casual fan. On her Ratu album (which I don't have, unfortunately), there's a track called Di Sisi Daku. I'm not sure if that's the track you heard, or if there's a different Di Sisi Mu song.

Sheila has quite a number of good and lesser-known tracks, and it's long overdue for Warner Music to issue a wide-release compilation for her.

  • If you come to Malaysia, you'd be able to get/buy most of her albums, including the one with that song you are looking for. I have been searching highs and lows for weeks for "Wanita" and to date have not found...will continue my search...

  • Thank you!
