@martinEATworld Yes there was good music then too its just that i was a teen between 83 and 88 and the songs then had alot of special meanings to me i like nat king cole, dusty and the Beetles etc .

breaks my heart ,thats the look i had 20 thousand years ago,and now i look like a tired old fagged and shagged baldy fat git roadie for status quo (sob)
Considering that this was a new song, at the time, to them and they were performing without any real warm up, this is a cracking rendition. To kqpm392 who said that there were better bands around with them, perhaps - but EatB could cut it live and in the studio, consistently.
I listen to this and enjoy it but can't help feeling that the focus on and appreciation of the bunny men has been blown way out of proportion. I can think of far better acts that weren't as successful. it's only the few that count though I suppose.
what an ignorant discussion. All that matters is the magic you get from the music. You people are dead if all you want to talk about is chord progressions. Does the song work? Yes. Is it special? Yes. End off.
What's with all the Radiohead references from people?, yes my Iron Lung uses the chord prog of G Cm as does this song in the chorus as does the Pixies Caribou in the verse... these guys did it first... and?Do you think you're the first to work it out or something?
@shocktk I most definitely was not, however Donnie Darko is one of my favorite films, and I think Richard Kelly's incorporation of music such as The Killing Moon, Mad World and Head Over Hells helps the tone of the movie greatly. I'm glad that as a child of the nineties that I had parents considerate enough to expose me to good music such as this.

@mrbassman25 Yeah, they were. But Yorke was also influenced by a guy he sounds nothing like. (Actually, I pick up little bits of the connection, but...) The guy's name is Mark Mulcahy. He was a friend of mine years ago, if you can believe it. He's got solo stuff on iTunes but he's best known for his first band, Miracle Legion who were big in Britain. For a great example of his work, download Polaris' "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" album from iTunes. Again, nothing alike in style, but still...
@mrbassman25 For sure. You can also hear vocals of Win Butler, Stephen Malkmus, and probably a ton of others I can't think of at the moment. Mostly Win Butler
