Live version didn't sound good to me, recorded version sounds much better...a real test I think is live because a lot of things can be done in a studio situation to make something sound good, but what I really respect, admire, and appreciate in a singer/performer, is the ability to sound good live with full instruments or simply with one instrument like a piano or guitar and their voice; when I hear live or a stripped down version of 1 instrument and a voice and it sounds good; thats raw talent.

Love Michael...Love the newsboys...I agree that this is a completely different band, different sound and tendency, Michael is a far more gifted singer than Peter (Peter still awesome though)...to change the band´s name? make a new band?, i guess they had people coming and leaving before (Jody Davis, Paul Coleman, Phil Joel) so that´s probably why they are keeping the band´s legacy alive...

This is a totally different band decent but not the same! It's like replacing Bono of U2 with another singer! No offense but I think they should strongly reconsider this decision! If can't get Peter back and the rest of the band then change the name of this band all ready!

@TheJordanband: Have you HEARD Michael live? Because I'm not even a very big newsboys fan, but I heard them live on Friday and was very impressed. Michael was GREAT, and not just at singing! But I do say that this preformance wasn't very good.

@CuteEyes72 I totally agree with you! Michael is obviously tired here. You can see and hear the fatigue all over him. As heavily as they had been touring at this time (and still are), he's just not able to give a knock-out performance every time, but then who does? He's not a machine; he's a person, and not a 20 year old person either. It makes a difference. Anyway, loving the new CD. Adding Michael to the group was a very smart move on their part.

Michael is awesome live! He has a great voice and I've seen him live and he nailed everything. I don't really notice them not having a bass player because the bass tracks are being played on the keyboard the the low end IS there.

I agree with the need for a bass player. Would it have to be Phil Joel? No. Someone with a similar ability set? Maybe not even that. The ability to play the kind of chest-punching bass in the studio sets and in the arenas, stadiums, and theatres? You betcha. Someone who can be in the pocket, so to speak.

Another great interview and Duncan is really funny. I love what he said about Tait joining them, that he can see and hear the newsboys in this new sound. He's right too that they will get new people listening to them because of Tait, that he'll bring in new listeners. Also, "Born Again" is my favorite song from the new album, can't wait till it's out and I can get it.
