A very good album, it really shows off the atmospheric power of a keyboard and drum machine. Unholy Gleam is my favourite, very nice playing in that song.
Some parts even remind me of Summoning the way the drums are used, and the keyboard as the main instrument and guitar as a background layer.
All I have to say is I'm not the biggest "death/black/whatever" metal fan. But I'm sitting here high as a mug and I happened to come across this song, and it is absolutely amazing, and paints the exact picture of what they were trying to convey. This IS melody, atmosphere and art. Brilliant song.

@MeuhCarotte I agree with ur last part but The first part of ur comment is just the opposite of your last. You say music is not a hardcore guys competition but on the other side you say MelodDeath/Deathmetal is not art it sucks. I actually really like Death - Metal and Melodic death Metal and symphonic metal too. I just love the mix of a piano, violine or other akustik Instrument slowly turning into hard metal, or beeing suddenly crashed by guitar riffs. You cant say this music is not powerfull.

@hauptmann25 But these bands like BFMV and mordern In Flames Seem forced they are not very good at the melodic sections, and the clean vocals are pretty fucking whiny and terrible. Its just metal converging on pop, and thats not what metal is about.

@Blashyrkh1993 sWho was talking about BFMV and Inflames ^^. I am talking about Insomnium, Be´lakor, Skyfire , Sirenia , Lunatica ... check them out they are quite good. Sirenia and Lunatica are symphonic so a little popish but you might still like them but you should definetly check out Be´lakor they pure awesomness and Insomnium.

@MeuhCarotte How can you say melodeath isnt art? are you fucking high? Thats one of the best genres of metal, right next to black. Maybe youre thinking of metalcore and deathcore. Melodeath sure as fuck isnt a "hardcore" competition, and idk where you got that fucking idea. Maybe melodeath isnt "br00tal" or "kvlt" enough for you

@ADeadlierSnake I think he used 'melodeath' wrongly, maybe just meaning the more melodic side of deathcore, and not being able to think of the word. That being the case, anything to do with 'core' is bullshit, i can at least agree with him on that.

2 of my favorite sub genres are Melodic Death and Black Metal. Hell, nowadays, I don't really even focus on sub-genres. I just listen to music if it sounds good to my ears. Whether it's as brutal as fuck like Cannibal Corpse, or if it's soothing like music from The Sims
