I am one of those people who crave for the Nikon Coolpix S8000. In your opinion, is there any compact digital camera (like S8000) that surpasses it at this moment in time? In terms of picture quality, image stabilization, and HD video recording? Very informative video, by the way. :)

I got this camera today. It sometimes just freezes and it freezes.. kinda weird? It's actually really good! My new videos will be with this camera. I say it's amazing, people say its suck, well screw them.. they just can't afford this. ahahaha <3

That's a tough one at the moment because we haven't had a chance to test the image quality of either camera, but the Coolpix L110 will be like a scaled-down version of the P100 (720p video, more beginner controls). The Finepix S2500HD is a powerhouse manual control machine, so if it's image quality could follow its packed toolbelt, we'd have to go with Fuji on this one.

VIdeo cameras have been migrating into still picture cameras. I ditched my video camera about a year ago,. Everything now is smaller and more compact. Easier to carry overall.

Digital Camera video quality still hasn't surpassed a dedicated camcorder. But it's the same on the other end. Camcorders are adapting better still imaging. Digital cameras will most likely win in the long run, but right now, camcorders offer the best video quality and features. Inevitably, cell phones will take over all.

They will sell a bunch of these....then they will release the 1080 model.

According to the Nikon website it was released on February 3. When it'll be out in stores to play with depends on where you live. I live in Hawaii and been searching for a camera, fell in love with this one and found out it was released!  Went to Sears today to purchase it and they told me that they probably won't get it until April. I called 10 different stores and all didn't have it. So you might want to call around your area to see who has it.

Thanks for your input! Yes, the Nikon Coolpix L110 has a built-in stereo microphone to accompany the 720p video mode.
