All Scottish, Welsh and English separatists are cunts. I am a British citizen of the nation of Great Britain. It is embarrassing to see my country descend into tribal infighting and backwards balkanisation based on medieval mindsets and a film made by a racist Australian. The idea of partitioning our small island in the N/W Atlantic is absurd to the point of laughter... if it wasn't so very, very sad. Alex Salmond can Fuck-Off.
OK, you have made your choice and you are entitled to it as the rest of the people on these islands are. Do you honestly think that I and people like me are going to put up with a government and a system that we did not vote for for the next 250years just to keep your face straight. I,ll tell you what, take your own advice and you fuck off. You can try to shout us down but for once the voice of the Scottish people and only the Scottish people will be heard and acted upon. Have a nice day.
Like most separatists you are confused and narrow-minded. The point of human progress is to become inclusive not exclusive. Nationalism today is dubious at best but one based on a medieval fantasy is tragic. The Scots are too savvy to believe the current nest of bigoted, SNP shit-stirrers. The rightly proud different cultural identities in the UK make a greater whole. The people of this island will always live as one. Don't like it?...
I am Dutch, and a strong supporter of the S.N.P. I really recommend you read their manifesto before comparing them to fascist parties operating in the U.K.
Ah well if that's the case, we can just ditch the UK and morph into the gigantic European superstate - Capital Brussels. With that Britain could be gone forever and lie with our European destiny. That surely would be right in the tradition of inclusiveness you protest so much about? Anything less would be tantamount to British separatism and British nationalism and a charge of hyprocracy - don't you think? :-)
Besides Scottish nationalism is no more "medieval fantasy" than British nationalism is based on 18th Century commercialism and greed.
The UK was a commercial enterprise. It was no nice, cosy "coming together of peoples". It no longer works in Scotland's political and economic interest. Ergo it is long overdue for Scotland to ditch the political and economic union. Unionists really should get used to the fact.
Yeah I am pro-EU if you mention it. Since I don't have the alarmist view you seen to have of it. The irony is that while we are trying to build continent-wide co-operation their are those who cannot get along with the people on the same small island as them - tragic.
I don't have an alarmist view of it at all. I support an independent Scotland within the EU. And I would be happy to have co-operation with the peoples of the current UK, via the EU - a political union of sorts. What I do rail against is the current UK union, which doesn't serve anyone well at all - English, Scots, Welsh or Northern Irish.
Its funny all the red marks given against my previous comments.
Why doesnt anyone do some research into the E.U?
I was just chatting a day ago with a Civil Engineer who worked for the E.U and he entirely agree's with me that virtually everyone has little idea what the E.U entails.
Its amazing how dreamy eyed and cattle-like many of you people are. Please, just try to do some looking for yourself.

i've nothing against scottish independance (i'm english-live in glasgow), the one thing that really gets up my nose is the extent of anti-englishness. scotlands a great country, but it's unfortunate that a desire to become independant has given rise to (in some cases) rabid anti englishness. the amount of abuse i've experienced would NEVER be accepted if i were black or an ethnic minority, i don't dislike scots, just those scots who've got a problem with the PEOPLE of england.

The SNP is for Scotland what New Labour was for England, a lot of hope to inspire a sickened populace into accepting leadership from puppet politicians serving Europe.
I do get pissed off with the people who persist with slagging off this man. Maybe 10 years ago it was semi-appropriate, but come on. Since the SNP took over they have performed MUCH better than any government I have seen attempt to run this land in my 29 years of life. I wish people would realise what it would mean to become independent, but perhaps they should realise FIRST what it would mean to remain part of(and I'm not fudging it here)an international crime syndicate!
This is the second post of yours that I've read in as many minutes, I agree 100% with you. In all my years I've never known a government to make such steady progress. The SNP haven't had that long in the seat, so I'd say that they have shown, in such little time, to the people of Scotland that they would lead us well.. in an independent Scotland.
I have nothing against England, I just want Scotland to be independent.
The first question is whether Scotland should be independent. The second question is whether an independent Scotland should join the EU. Don't let opposition to the EU turn you against Scottish independence. According to the SNP's proposed Constitution, the delegation of powers to the EU would require a three-fifths majority vote in Parliament, plus a referendum.
After the Glasgow by-election I now not only 'dream' about but actually 'look forward' to independance. Thanks for your comment and all the best to you BongoBrido. Peace for all!
Thank goodness for Salmond. Lets reward such integrity and dedication and vote overwhelmingly yes in 2010. We can be just as successful as Norway and others. We just need to be in control of our country. The union is failed and politely but firmly we should remove ourselves from it. We can build a much better Scotland for all Scots and be a truly proud, independent, sovereign as well as normal European nation. Scotland forever.

Prime Minister Salmond is streets ahead of the numpties in the Unionist parties at Holyrood. He's also streets ahead of Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling, David Cameron, George Osborne, John Redwood, Nick Clegg and all the other useless offerings from Westminster.
YES, 'Independence' why the hell not! SOARING oil prices would give an independent Scotland a £4.4 billion budget surplus. The surplus would allow Alex Salmond to maintain existing levels of public spending, while cutting corporation tax from 28% to 12.5%, reducing income tax by 5p in the pound and still having £2 billion every year to invest in a Norwegian-style oil fund to safeguard Scotland against a future decline in North Sea oil revenue. The Sunday Times May 18, 2008
Its time the Scottish people started letting their news and media outlets know their feelings, as it stands there most likely would be an uphill struggle winning the argument for Independence in the media due to Scaremongering and bias. We all know the main culprits in this farce, if you want a clue to the name of one of them, just look up during the day! Sad as it may seem, many people simply buy a paper and buy whatever they read in it...worse maybe even vote based on its editors viewpoints.

Why would the E.U. have more countries join and force Scotland to leave? Makes no sense.
