One of the most gracious concession speeches in history. I supported Obama this time around but always admired this man. I would have voted for him over Gore in 2000. McCain has an adopted daughter from Bangladesh (seen in this video) and he easily could have paraded her around but did not. McCain's speech was probably more important than Obama's. There has to be a sense of peace and repect from the loser. Yes, Obama won with a solid mandate and an electoral college landslide, but this nation/country is still so divided by race, beliefs, cultural values, and economic opportunities. As an African American I have a sense of pride in Obama winning, but I and other people of color realize that Obama's win is just a small dent in the divide of this country.

It is irritating when people say if they are black or not. ok, obamas black, so what. who cares. hsi skin color is just a color. if a marker is black rather than, say, green, it will still write the same way. so why does it even matter if hes black. i think that people sholdnt be aloud to see what the candidates look like before the election that way they may actually base their votes on things that matter.
