Just got this camera, you can shoot 12mp on P I think you must have your P setting on hi speed, that's max 3mp.

@puredimondsxo The video quality is pretty good for the size of it but it is nothing special and it is not nearly as good as a proper video camera. it is better for taking pictures. Hope this helped

@shirazbailywood No all you have to do is put the camera in the water. But there is a few picture modes in the menu that optimize the camera for under water photography.

@coolalexa21 if you have an SD card slot on your mac it should work that way.

There´s a little misunderstanding going on here: the P-setting offers full 12MP!! It will only be limited, when you e.g. switch to F-Zoom (8MP) or the setting that allows you to take many shots in a row (3MP). Battery doesn´t have a lot of stamina, that´s true!

there is a trick to battery life with this camera. Since it is completely sealed everything get relatively hot over long periods time. (about 10-15minutes) Turing it off after a little while and letting it cool off will give you more overall shooting time. I'm still think of grabbing a second battery regardless. I wanted a lens cover also

I found out why it was at 3 megapixels and not 12, because there wasn't enough space left for a 12 megapixel picture. oops.

Hee, I also bought this camera.. and my Settings on P goes up to 8 megapixels.. the bad thing that I found was the battery.. it quickly runs out of power.. so I bought a new one with 1100mAh the standard battery is 740mAh.
