bottlebug: thanks for the comments. I think the main thing I hope for is that it will be remembered. That's how I judge if just about anything is good - that is - if it stays with you the author is usually doing something right. When someone asks who my favortie youtube poet is I always say MsWriteNow - because I can remember most of her work off the top of my head.
You gotta open up a can of tough love on that bitch!! I feel yo pain, Man!!! You wanna buy some weed?...How bout a couple of new poems?...The first one's free!!!
In order to have exchanged you for freedom she had to be imprisoned. If in fact there was an exchange of selves I sense no lack of freedom. I am utterly confused! Please sir, explain to me how this happened! I proudly proclaim the exchange of my own husband for freedom, but rest assured there was a loss of freedom to begin with!
In either event, the cake may not be unbaked, but you may have pie now, get her pie, baked fresh from the oven of hope.
hunniebee: I think it is easier to speculate about what happened moments before the "Big Bang" than it is to understand marriage... or relationships... but cherry pie is self evident. It's just real good.
NewWarrior: Thank you sir. It is so cool seeing all the video responses this got in just one day - I wonder how many entries there will be in 2 months? This is fraking great!
Diesel: You hurt my rabbit's feeling with that remark! I demand you now write a song called "Blue Rabbit Blues" as a way to make it up to her! ;) - thanks for stopping by - are YOU going to enter anything for this contest?
I hadn't thought to submit anything, with all the fine entries I'm sure will be submitted, the athlete's foot mentality of poetic meanderings in my sphincter encapsulated mind would only serve to spoil the savor of the collective masterworks.
Reminds me of a few years ago. Five days before Christmas, my fiance broke up with me (over the phone, isn't that cute?) and returned my room. This is a great poem, and I would be copying it right now if I hadn't pawned the ring...
fetusboy: thanks - hey, that could be an interesting poem right there - pawning the ring... you know, that whole dynamic... and the thoughts that go through one's head while doing it...
I had to read this at work (thank you for the sidebar) due to the lack of speakers. I'll listen to it when I get home, but I love..LOVE how real your poetry is. It's amazing. Thank you dear.
wow you got the ring back ;0)

Send your shadow in place of yourself you used to give so willingly
the ghost of the image of the present you would have been giving
if not for freedom

Just noticed someone else made a very similar comment about another one of your poems. I wonder which way you might prefer your work to affect us?

A big jar of stale air sounds about right. Why don't you get yourself a nice present instead! Good poem... You are so ironic.

i have no idea how you unfold these poems so perfectly - it's like they all have the equivalent of a punch line. is there a word for that in poetry?
heatherlynblue 4 years ago
Heather: I don't know... I guess one could call it "stand up poetry" - the only thing is I'm often flat on my ass drunk when I write it ;)
