  • anyone else expecting a 21/12/12 release date for Muse's next album. Im expecting it to be very similar in themes to Absolution mainly the END OF THE WORLD.

  • @Sj1h Lol!New album on 21/12/2012!!!That would be so Muse!!!

However, I hope we wouldn't have to wait for that long.

  • @jmserbia Probably will since they would have done a years solid touring since last october when they finish the Resistance tour. And then probably a break in 2011 with a few TV/Festival shows here and there. And then writing the next album late 2011-mid 2012 then it has to be mixed and recorded then release so thats probably the next 2 years right there. But i hope they do a good show at Wembley on the 11th because that would be my first Muse gig and im going with friends.

  • Hey guys, If u like Muse, heard a welsh band called Supergene, Amazing vocals just like Matt,

Heres there TV series thing they do, really funny actually and u get to hear preview of there songs, there realsing there début ablum "Secret, Lies & Broken Machines"

Just type SUPERGENE TV in the seach box!

Check em on facebook and myspace too!

  • My first Muse song. :)

  • @nianymue me too

  • @nianymue Now you love them to death, right? Naturally. Absolution is the best way to fall in love with Muse.

  • What . A . Performance

  • I like this part 0:00 - 4:42

  • SpaceDementia+

    ApocalypsePlease+

    RuledBySecrecy+

    TakeABow+

    Soldier'sPoem+

    UnitedStatesOfEurasia+

    TheExogenesisSymphony=

    TicketToAnotherWorld!

Just put those songs together and you'll know what I'm talking about

  • i was trying to think of something good to say here bt its impossible to some up hw good nt just this song bt MUSE as a band are,

    "proclaim eternal victory"

  • Why is people making comparations about who is a better musician?

FACT: People who do that, dont have a life.

  • fact: Matt sings in tune.

Thats the only thing that makes a rock vocalist, regardless of style

  • This band is awesome. Matt Bellamy kicks ass everywhere. But i have to disagree with those fans who claim Muse is a better band than Radiohead. If this song is charming, then Paranoid Android has to be music of gods or something like that.

  • Oh the adoration...

  • This guy is genius, a true master at work......listen and weep!

  • amazing performance, i haven't seen one i didn't like :D muse is soo frickin EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wait, who the hell would diss Matt's vocals? The hell do they listen to?

  • Dopo Freddy Mercury, la sua è+ la miglior voce!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe that people diss his singing. I mean, I listen to hundreds of bands and artists from jazz fusion and classical music to death metal, and the main reason that got me into Muse was the vocals.

  • @sunshowersPL Fact: Matt Bellamy is a better musician than Thom.

  • @sunshowersPL fucking idiot.

  • Notice how he has to almost kiss the mike so that he can be heard. Great performance, though thumbs up

  • I love that Matt is an untrained voice and then their bassist (I forgot his name) is a trained voice. The make for a great combination of rough, lead vocals and smooth, backup vocals. Love it!!

  • I love these guys live :D

  • The beginning of the chorus is a bit "weaker" than the rest of the song. When after that they build up from the bridge to what you could call the 'chorus' is very epic. I think the "problem" with the beginning of the verses is that's a bit too simple/repatative. Going from chord 1 to chord 2 (ok some variants) and singing on top of it a very simple melody is not their greatest achievement. However, I do think the rest of the songs makes up for it, sounding so epic

  • dalek inspired piano? intro sounds fuckin amazing.

  • wow! Great live performance of this song...I liked so much..

    Muse is fuck dude!

  • I'm going to play this all day December 21st, 2012.

  • @bringinlexiback7

haha nice idea. I'll do that too^^

  • @bringinlexiback7 december 21st, 2012 is when the worlds suppose to end according to the movie :P But i LOVE muse

  • @bringinlexiback7 Same here ... from my camping spot high up in the Great Dividing Range ;o)

  • @bringinlexiback7 Go to their site for the red pill brother.

  • @bringinlexiback7 I'm sure even God will be. He has to be amazed at how Bellamy captured the sound of the end

  • @Joehand87 I sometimes wonder if God likes Muse too :)

  • @bringinlexiback7 hell yeeeaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bringinlexiback7 i'm with you, go play at a public place

  • @bringinlexiback7 maybe if we all do it, we would actually see the world explode of epic awesomeness :-D

  • wow i feel so privaleged to be able to hear their music lolz:)

  • This is unbelievable. Their live sounds almost exactly the same like the album version... I am a little shocked... They are great.

  • Phenomenal! This is the Mutha*@#*in End....

  • I swear Matt has the best voice in all singers of all of human history!

  • This song sounds somewhat... Divine.

  • ................ Perfect....

  • This actually sounds better than the original :D It sounds so powerful

  • 20 seconds into the video and I've already "liked" it and am favoriting it :D HOLY FN CRAP

  • The best XXI century band.

  • They should bring back this song

  • Most bands, their album sells the band; Muse, their outstanding live performances sell them.

I'm not putting any negativity towards their albums, I am just saying that they are fucking amazing live!!

  • i've got nothing with queen, but i dont hate them either.

but i thing is for sure i like muse a lot :P

  • Just wondering, who here likes Queen? Most people who like Muse tend to adore queen (like myself) :)

  • @423likeajewel I do :). @unicorn4sure The beginning beat is kinda hard to get, but I think I finally got it. :P

  • @423likeajewel i love em as much as i do muse

    !

  • @423likeajewel Not a fan. Muse is my favourite band though

  • @423likeajewel Yeah, me too. Queen and Muse are, for me, the best bands ever.

  • @seisdoble94 You are reason, they are the best ever !!!!!

  • @423likeajewel same here! its nice that Muse loves Queen (you can basically see Dom go "OHMYGOD ITS QUEEN!" in his mind when Brian May presented this awards years ago) and that Brian May loves Muse too! :D

  • @mushy58mushy where is that video?

  • @423likeajewel M2 /agree

  • @423likeajewel me to:)

  • @423likeajewel me too :)

  • @423likeajewel United States of Eurasia reminds me of Queen.

  • @423likeajewel yeah my two other favorite bands are Queen and Rush but MUSE is definitely at the top

  • Pinkpop! (H)

  • Where is the video with a guy with a milk jug and some SCSI hard drives?? (it has this song)

    Seen it???

I'm guessing it was taken offline.

  • personally.. muse doesnt remind me of radiohead at all... people just like to mention them because of muse's old sound in my opinion.. two very different bands... and this song is the shit! lol love the end

  • love this song :) xx muse :) x matt (L)

  • Muse sounds to me like a Radiohead that sacrifices rhythmic and harmonic content for that a harder rocking feel...

  • @yougotcrad1

sorry but i have to respectfully disagree. Have a listen to knights of cydonia. They modulate at the end of every phrase.

Also listen to space dementia. The chord progression in that song is reminiscent of the great rachmaninovs piano cencerto in c minor. As for rhythmic elements, radiohead uses some of the most basic and repetitive drumbeats.

  • What I meant in terms of rhythmic elements only goes as far as the usage of comping in synchronization (or asynchronization) with the sung melodies. One of my favorite Radiohead songs is Pyramid Song. Although it's not a very complex composition I really get into it in a similar way to how I'd get into a Philip Glass composition. It's the space in between it all that gets at me, as well as the perfect use of different tones.

  • Also Space Dimentia was really good.

  • @yougotcrad1 Radioheads most harmonically complex song is (in my opinion) probably "i will", from hail to the thief. And even then, that song is comparable to one of muse's ballads "soldiers poem"

dont get me wrong, i like radiohead, but in my opinion, muse are by far superior musicians in terms of their manipulation of the musical elements.

  • I suppose more than anything I'm not as interested in classical elements in modern rock as much as I am in jazz elements. These compositions are really good, but hearing them with the tone of an electric guitar or a lot of falsetto sets me off a bit. I'm disinterested in Muse in a similar way that I'm disinterested in Queen, except Muse takes it to a higher level.

  • @yougotcrad1 I get what you're saying mate.

it all comes down to personal opinion, at the end of the day.

we can all try to analyse music like its maths or something, but in the end, it all comes down to feeling the song.

  • ....and you sound like an idiot who knows absolutely nothing about music.

  • Matt Bellamy was once an opra singer to answer your questions on whether or not hes had vocal lessons

  • @TheHempCats That's bullshit

  • this song is nothing live compared to the album which is ass backwards from Muse usually. It's to safe, even though he does some amazing falsetto. The album version has an epicly powerful last chorus, so much urgency and passion in his vocal on the final "This. is. the END!!" none of the live versions have it.

  • If he personally tells me that he had no lessons I believe him, until that day I'll keep my opinion :p

But anyhow Muse are a great band, they must have worked very hard to reach this kind of performance! They are my biggest influence!

    Gotta love them!

  • You have to study an instrument to get good at it, you can't just "learn by yourself" you need to take lessons even if it is from a book or the internet, but with these two methods you'll probably reach a point that you'll stagnate. No one is born knowing how to play the guitar or how to do vibrato. And I didn't read anywhere he had lessons but I'm studying to be a musician too and I know a couple of things about this. So In my opinion he had lessons :) We can't trust everything we read.

  • @SiegPT That's not true, if you truely want to be great at something, you can do it yourself.

  • @SiegPT lol you at like this universe has never had a prodigy before ;)

  • As far as singing goes though, many people just have natural born talent. Sure they learn how to do things like falsetto, but lots of other people do and they aren't famous.

  • If you want to learn, you will. You don't need lessons from anyone. Where is it written in stone that singing or playing an instrument a certain way is the ultimately correct way? anyone can learn to sing with a vibrato on their own.

I can imagine Matt did what I've done and that's study how all of my favourite musicians play and sing and encorporate that to my own style and vwala! You don't need lessons or none of that shit to be good like Matt. It's called practice and discipline :)

  • As a side note: Matt did train and learn piano at a very young age; there's a clip out there of Matt at age 12 playing this classic ragtime tune very well on the piano. I'm sure this helped him pick up vocals and guitar without formal training.

  • the part of the "uhuuuuhuuuuuu.." from 0:55 till 1:06 is from another song, does anybody know where that comes from??? please

  • @interferon911 man i though tthe same thing..it sounds similar to something

  • Can't think of anything else in particular. Matt used falsettos like that a lot between "Origin of Symmetry" and "Absolution". First song that pops out in my mind though is "Space Dementia".

Unless you mean a totally different band altogether too.

  • i can only imagine how epic it would be to be in the audience

  • Piano + singing simultaneously = WOW.

    Love this song :D

  • i know this song was in 30 days of nights with vampires but whenever i hear it without really thinkin bout the words it makes me think of cool/glamorous vampires

  • I love this..

  • Of course he had vocal lessons! He has a very good vibrato and he is in perfect pitch. He had guitar and vocal lessons for sure.

  • @SiegPT

Did you read that anywhere or conclude it because he sings and plays so good? I think he had indeed had guitar lessons. however, I'm not sure about vocal lessons. You can learn yourself to sing and vibrate (it is not so hard) if you have some talent, just by doing it alot

  • Correct me if im wrong, but i dont think he had guitar lessons. Im not so sure about vocal lessons though.

  • Afraid to dissapoint you, but Matt Bellamy DIDN'T have guitar lessons.

That man is self taught. Which makes him all the more godly. Read it in one of their books. *nods* As for singing lessons, I have no idea!

  • @SiegPT

    He hadn't for sure.
