I really urge people to give nested loops or a story within a story in other words a go.. because You will be astounded at how powerful this technique is and you might have never realised it otherwise... and the thing is that when you see people dropping into trance right in front of you will be amazed.... as I was when I gave this incredible technique a go.. I have to say.. I see my friends dropping into trance alot wherever we might be these days.. it's kinda strange hmm ;D
He makes up an arbitrary formula that can't have a single-number answer and says the answer is -1 as a way of proving that we can come up with answers instantly using our subconscious without any "work". All that proves is that he can come up with a random number instantly. I can instantly say the answer to 5 x 5 is 25 because I already have it memorized. Anybody who didn't realize instantly that they just threw away 100% of their money when this guy started talking needs more elementary school.
@dhinge The point is not to demonstrate his ability to perform algebra or any other kind of calculation. The purpose is to overload the ability of the listener to process everything consciouisly. This is done with nested loops and providing information, such as maths problems, which cannot be worked out with the information provided. The listener is lead into beginning to work out the problem because we associate witht the speaker's experience. This is the technique.
@#xirishmagicx I'm not on first name terms with Richard Bandler, so I wouldn't want to comment on his personal views. I'd agree there are plenty of people who are not as proficient at NLP as others. Perhaps you are right - perhaps he is not so great a teacher as he is a showman. In my opinion, the real test of effective teaching is how well those you have taught can actually do the stuff. So, perhaps "successful" in those terms IS debatable, as you say. Thanks for putting me right.
nested loops must have connection with basketball, interesting to hear not sure on Bandler's teraching style he talks endlessly very entertaining but the 'meat' of it mmmm not sure how much you would pick up & learn attending a seminar by him, sorry brb I just bottom burped violently and need to go open up few windows back in a bit
Part of the genius of this teacher - who has successfully taught tens of thousands of people in this field - is that the information bypasses the conscious mind filter, so you are correct in thinking you might not understand everything consciously, and sometimes some people think that's the only way to learn when, in fact, it's least effective way to teach and learn.
