used to watch this when i was a kid(barely able to read or understand what was going on) and so I always thought Daffy was helping the lady give birth to her children (hadn't even occurred to my lil brain that they were "white as ghosts"

@1cat294 because the original voice actor like in the other Looney Tunes cartoons, Mel Blanc was much older.

@1cat294 They couldn't access the machine that can manually sped up Mel's voice at the time, so they had to make due with what they got.

Technically, what you're hearing is how Daffy truly sounds like.

@1cat294 This was toward the end of Mel Blancs life, his voice had changed a bit from the golden years, and also in the old cartoons they would speed up the voice a little to achieve the higher pitch, which warner brothers stopped doing in the later cartoons.
