@the0edge0master, you know, the only big difference I've found so far is that it seems the grosse messer is a term used by modern practitioners and I'm not sure if it exists in the historical record. Other than that, grosse and langes (big and long) refer to the same weapon, afaik. The difference, as far as I have seen, comes with the kriegsmesser, the "war messer", which was the much larger two-handed variety.
@jettarulz , Thanks. Then keep up with your dream!
And if I can give some advice, study everything...you can't do swordsmanship if you can't fight with your body, hands and feet, so do your breakfalls, study all weapons, do everything. There are too many practitioners and (much worse) so-called teachers and self-styled maestros who know way too little for their own good.
So, study hard, stick to it, and Look with a Transdisciplinary Eye. And good luck!
do you guys do much on using the arming sword. or the later cut and thrust sidesword by itself?
where might i be able to find information.
