@ShadeXH And ruin over TWENTY years of muscle memory and practice. I honestly can't tell how you guys have the logic to say such things. He can't even make an equipment switch to a bigger head size racquet, let alone fundamental technique changes (especially as extreme as using a never-before-used second hand).
@sebaxoo he didnt... and federer wasnt the most matured tennis player... very unstable .... had trouble winning back 2 back matches.. problems with temper..
interesting how federer's way of practicing are relaxed strokes, hardly breaking a sweat. While nadal's might be a hour of grinding away followed by some 200 pound bench presses lol
he is just dicking around with a two hander, it is like when someone with a two handed backhand tries a one hander. Federer's two-handed backhand looks good.
2 handed backhand is more solid and harder. but one handed backhand you can add more spin and have more control. also 1 handed is a little more versatile, allowing you to hit a few more awkward shots.
i think federer needs to up the intensity a little on his practicing, i think it would help him play better in matches against more intense oponents like nadal. but this may also be federer's secret to staying fit for so many tournaments.
@konvictz0007 2 handed backhand is more solid, and its better for returning. one handed backhands have greater reach and players with one-handed backhands tend to volley better. generally its actually easier to hit awkward shots with a double hander cause you can force the shots with your left hand. you can afford to time the ball a little later for the same reason.
it's so funny to see him using 2 handed backhand....I truly believe that if he could use it agianst Nadal he could beat much more easely. On clay it could give him more power and control.
I've seen Roger practicing the two handed backhand in more then a few practice videos on youtube. I swear to god someday in a random tournament he's just going to use it out of nowhere.
@AnimeIntroStyles4 yeh for some random reason he is going to use a 2hbh just for fun, yeh even though hes won 16 grand slams with a 1hbh, he'll just switch his tecnique for no reason.
@3timeMVPNash Its really all about looking like a pretty little flower in tennnis... LOL he picked it because its what he is comfortable with, nothing to do with looks.
Rog looks bored.

as far as i know he and sampras played two handed until the age of 17 or 18. when kids are younger it doesnt make too much sense du to lack of power

You can't choose a one handed backhand just because of it's quality. One handed backhand can be ugly too.
