I think these folks are really stretching things. With the sudden, instantaneous disappearance of humans what they're talking about could happen. However, a gradual decline in human population is vastly more likely. There has never been any evidence that any species just vanished in the blink of an eye. This is all just speculation. Any number of perfectly normal 'disasters' have and will happen again which have and will have a much more dramatic effect on these things.
Also, of the species present at the moment, we're one of the most likely survivors.

@lifeform106 Some of these scientists are religious. Anyway this whole concept isn't about us dying soon or anything like that at all, so shouldn't cause fear in anyone anyway. It's simply stating what IF (Key word being IF) humanity did just disappear/die over night, how would the world change without human intervention anymore? Nothing more nothing less.

@lefteyegomad Yeah exactly, one of the basis of this show is that Humans simply disappear over night.. which would not be the case, the process would most likely be slow.. VERY slow, and assuming we die because of something that COULD cause rapid extinction, it would also affect animals, and nature.

99% of all species that ever existed have gone extinct.
The earth will vaporize into nothing as the sun will be come a red dwarf and scorch this planet.
We don't need an apocalyptic teaching by religions. The end of our existence is coming sooner or later anyway.

I think it's funny that they're showing the renewed wild living of dogs as a surprisingly scary thing. Of course they'll go back to scavenging & living wildly! Dogs deep down still think like WOLVES; they just don't generally attack their human masters, because we bred them to think of us as the leader of their pack.

What they're saying about dogs in this video, is exactly what's happening over in Japan right now. In the nuclear exclusion zone, dogs are simply running wild in packs, foraging whatever food and drink they can. Sometimes resorting to cannibalism canine style.
