I dont think that most people, esp. younger people understand the idea of being sensual without the physical aspect. They don't have the patience to understand such things.There are so many people on youtube who will harass you for making a video to enlighten people about something b/c it'sboring. they will take the time out of their day to send insulting messages.If some people actually have to use their mind and hearts as opposed to just their eyes to understand something, they don't like it.

I bought my boyfriend a shirt for xmas that said Wonderlust with a Stevie pic on it. i am going to purchase all of his LPs. I started at Hotter than July.

I LOVE Hotter than July. It was hard for me to hear as a kid. The inside sleeve shows MLK & tells a story of how he fought for peace. As a kid, I could not understand why someone would kill someone who preached peace. It really, really frightened me as a kid b/c 4 me it meant that there was a fundamental lack of value for black life in America, despite all the multi-kulti rhetoric. But Stevie's own conviction kept me from closing my eyes for too long.

In a lot of the current R & B, I don't here the genuine sadness and defiance. But I guess it's sort of like what Barry Gordy and Clive Davis set out to do-to sterilize it a little. But I think some of the soul still leaked out despite there efforts.

The current R&B artists are reinterpreting the pop side more then the soul/heart side. And Im not saying that some of it is necessarily bad. I guess with each generation, the definition gets weaker. So may be it should call it something else.

Yup! Pop pays big bucks, and the big bucks are the bulk of their lyrics...it's a sick cycle. Divas gettin' money?!? Hmm, what else is there to life? Apparently not much else other than love and abandonment. It hurts. it's really sad that the music has been stripped down to this bragging about finally getting a break. And what lessons do kids get from this? To get money by any means necessary!

Here we go again: Why is she wearing a bathing suit while dancing next to a man who is fully clothed? Why does she sing Nasty Girl with Destiny's CHild, but wear a bra on stage. It's not just her...look at any pop image and see how nearly naked the women are compared to all the men.

And BTW, do yourself a favor and watch the Black Panther scene from MJ's video Black or White. His crotch grabbing is not sexual but more aggressive. You may disagree, but what about the overall message?

Beyonce is all of 28 years. I love every inch of the body that she uses it in a deceptively powerful way. She, like MJ was, is first & foremost, AN ENTERTAINER.

Many a posthumous & revisionist perspective on MJ may disregard what is perhaps his most powerful contribution - that of "aesthetic" martyr. His sacrifice was the mutilation of his face. For many, he accidentally serves as a deterrent to self loathing.

For me, he was a talented entertainer. That is all.

I went to a Beyonce concert in NC cos my sis paid for it otherwise i wouldnt have gone and Beyonce truly is an entertainer and her Sasha Fierce is actually scared me lol its like she is in another realm when she's um..her. lol
