I wonder if this same broker took the client's mortgage application fee up front, knowing the borrower was incapable of getting a loan. Sadly, it is sometimes guys like this that are the first to issue these borrowers pre-approval letters and take an application fee knowing full well, they will never get a loan. Instead of making yourself look like a jerk, why don't you be honest with the client & let him know once and for all that he can't get a loan AND if you did take an app fee, give it back

This is why people hate those of us in the business. I have had mortgage brokers do this, and I proved it one day with a client with me. I called a loan officer that was working a file this client, because the broker stopped answering the phone in the middle of the transaction. Well the receptionist told me that the L.O. was not in the office, but, my client and I were walking into the office. Guess who was standing right there at the receptionist desk...BINGO, BITCH BUSTED!!!
