I think it's sweet that they are saying this, but when you are in the girl's shoes, and you don't feel the same for the guy anymore, and he's telling you he won't ever let you go, it gets irritating and it makes you feel guilty, because you can't help the way you feel.

He is saying he cannot live without her and even he dies he cant let her go, and there is no point of him living without her with a broken heart.
