    internet explorer

  • @notmusics - You people truly amaze me! yeah I've had firefox before. Woop-de-doo. I.E. was actually better for uploading mp3s and what not. Please send me to the gallos for using I.E. - Oh yeah and check that stats on that, if you don't use it you are in the minority still.

  • really helpful . thank you very much !

  • @VictorAUlloa "Snare Rolls and 808s" = you are done. Next you are gonna say "Epic Strings." I know your type. See the exit.

  • @VictorAUlloa - This wasn't a production video. U seem to be on the path of unoriginality - something I shun.

  • @ShaunFriedman First I was talking about waves because you had mentioned it somewhere in this slow ass video, 2nd did you not lable the video mastering ?

Therefore I watched a few minutes to see your techniques compared to mine, I learned nothing. I like and congradulate people who help me and contribute to my music, you my friend did none.

  • @VictorAUlloa - u must have missed the likes and dislikes. You're Welcome lol. Clown.

  • good tutorial BUT i wish if u don't mind to master a track with maximus, multiband compressor, limiter .. it would be very useful plus that these native plugins in fl studio are GREAT & can do same job if not better in my openion ... thanx

  • @locooomotion - in my experience maximus is garbage, but that also because I don't know how to use it. The presets sound bad to me and I steer clear of that thing. I think it creates too much compression. Yes I admitted I don't know how to use it, let the youtube world hold that against me forever...but it still may be garbage.

  • @NinjaModeTV - Dude, I don't use any of this at all besides my EQ and compressor trick sometimes, and Waves. You are making conclusions out of thin air.

  • i dig that beat

  • really helped mate, only got to the rendering part so far and thats sorted my popping an cpu problems, i'l be able to get my track uploaded now, nice one

  • Amazing tutorial. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this. I've been producing since 1999 and never really bothered with learning to master. Recently I felt I should learn and wow, big difference in sound. Thanks so much for this!

  • As soon as i saw internet explorer it was all over.

  • @AkoolStick - thank you so much for sharing!

  • @ShaunFriedman Forgot to mention too, great tutorial! I just remembered learning about the compressor vaguely from midi production class, but this made me more aware of it.

  • @AkoolStick Guess you didn't notice how fast he was at closing the window having everything he needed set up for us to learn by. Damn good Tutorial. Worth every second. keep listening don't read this.

  • thanks make more vids

  • where did you find this nice db meter?

  • @DJGPR2 - this is in the plugin effects list on the FL Studio Mixer. Then I scrolled through and found this one. There are a bunch there, it's under "Wave Candy."

  • @ShaunFriedman i can't find it please give me its name...

  • do you have a video or videos about how to use all of fl studio plugins in the mixer. im using fl studio 10 and i dont know how to use the plugins for mixing or mastering, also i dont even know what they are for,

  • YOU DONT NEED THESE TOOLS! FL has everything you need to get your tracks upto levels no problems at all. You have maximus, multiband compressor, limiter and para eq's. They are all you need on the master bus. Ive been producing for many years so if anyone needs to know anything give me a shout. Peace out!

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 - who said you "needed" them? lol.

  • @ShaunFriedman LOL! Ok then :D

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 what about hardgroove techno??? Not the techno which is mostly posted on utube...but real hardGROOVE techno, is the mastering the same?

  • @beatperminute138 Mastering will vary from track to track, remember some fundamentals here. The less processing the more you retain the quality of the sound and that really is what it is about. All your tracks/patterns should be arranged in mono and panned accordingly to get firstly the correct balance and sense of space. Then applying eq and the stereo field to those things above 120 hz really. Check out one of my tracks here produced in FL Studio carbonlogic.co.uk/artist/psymonics/apollo-1

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 the best way to produce a track is actually to leave the master fx empty and then put some comp or/and limiter in another program like wavelab. This way your track will have much more space and power.

  • @MrDanceselektor Of course but im presuming hes working with the master wave file here and hes talking about mastering inside fl which is fine of course. your talking about the mix down.

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 ive been making beats for quite a while. but one thing i cant seem to overcome, is my kick and bass. it will sound just just fine until i turn it up to higher volumes on my stereo system. the kick kind of overloads the sub and distorts. but if i turn it down it doesnt sound good on low volume levels. please help me!

  • @JayMbeats You need to EQ the drums so that they're not occupying the same low frequencies as the bass and vice versa or use a technique called side-chaining but I wouldn't recommend that unless you're working with genres such as dance/pop/electro. Type this into Google "Low end theory: EQing kicks and bass" the guide may help you out.

  • @mastermindonline thanks bro!

  • lol i always use the soundgooderizer

  • Some questions I need answered:

So there is a specific volume all your instruments is supposed to have? Because I've read examples where it says your snare should be inbetween such and such db, I thought in mastering your objective was to make your mix as loud as it can before clipping and distorting. Also I have a question on why some songs are louder than others?

  • @idku34 - it depends on the genre you are making. There are "loud wars" with all genres and all types of media now including television commercials. If you are recording audio of any kind you want to have a good level. This means not too low and not too high. This takes years of experience to get right. If you record too low, when you try to raise your level you will have background noise. If you record too high you will have clipping. You are pretty much right on your def of mastering.

  • actually if u want to find the keys someone used in a beat or song u can use wave candy go to Wine on the presets or go to Pitch Monitoring and it will show the keys they used and how they were played.

  • mine distorts as soon as it gets to -3db on the maxim

  • @KANEYBEATZ - it depends on your source track and how much "headroom" you have to work with. That is why you should watch your levels when mixing so you are able to jack it up while mastering. However, your track could also be good the way it is - sometimes you have to know when not to change things.

  • what does wave candy do?

  • @novanine9 - nothing really just a larger display..it might be more accurate though somehow

  • Can you explain "attenuation" ?

  • wtf u just need 2 things maximus and para eq that's all

  • @KellarJS You're retarded.

  • @magiicmusic nah u are idiot because u don't know what really important things idiot fuck go learn music nerd u fail

  • @KellarJS If you think that you only need Maximus and Para EQ to master, you clearly don't know anything about music producing,

  • @magiicmusic if u know alot tell me what u need??? my friend hes aproducer hes using oinly maximus and para eq he know hwo to use it and he makes pro tracks hes using fl10 years so i think hes much better then u he understand more then u looks like u don't know a shit do u

  • really helpful!

  • thanks mate it helps me alot. the BBE sonic maximizer costs 149 dollar it sucks like hell.

  • Damn, The Waves Vst's

you have to be rich ^^

  • MY MAXIMUS WAVE CANDY LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT LOL

  • @somanshrestha so does mine.LOL,,i think u can change the way its look

  • Dont take this the wrong way but I LOVE YOU!!! YOU SAVE US and make our music great!!! I will send u link when I am done so you can hear the song and see what a wonderful tutorial this is!

  • That mastering chain works for CD Mastering or mastering for commercial music?

  • @escaflowndj - it works for both and you will get varying opinions even when talking to the best engineers. I have had classes with many of them. Some use a compressor then and EQ. Some use and EQ then a Compressor. Furthermore, some may use a compressor, then an EQ, then another compressor. It depends on your source material. I guess each is a case by case basis.

  • i love you

  • compression is a bitch.

  • You use Internet Explorer ... You made a nice remix but you really need to learn a few things with computers ... IE IS A FAIIIIIIIIIIIL and a half ... Good vid though ... I advise to use Mozila Firefox or Google Chrome

  • I learned ALOT! Thanks to you and the information you shared I decided to remaster my mixtape and put out a Re-Mastered version! Thanks again!

  • You sir are AWESOME!!!! I've been having this problem of not being loud enough.. Thanks man!!

  • im pretty sure that "uhh" vocal in your instrumental is from biggie smalls, right??? lol, fits nice tho...keep up the good work mate, peace out

  • @montana187xxx - Yes, it is Biggie - you can find the instrumental AND the version with 2pac and Biggie on my Channel. Thanks Mate!

  • 3:1 Ratio is not a limiter its almost subtle compression depends on your threshold, and a hard limiter is sever compression is usually a 10:1 ratio or higher.

  • Loving it. Thankz brother.

  • @petter106 - that would be my john mellancamp jack and diane remix with biggie smalls on the track. Nuff said!

  • You're amazing. Thanks so much for sharing your resources, I'm trying to learn how to touch up sound quality for mashups with multiple track overlays and I'm sure this is going to help immensely.

  • Hi this tutorial has been very helpful to me! But i do have one question.. theres one track i keep uploading on soundcloud but theres a part in the track where i use a very low sub bass.. i like this to be loud and clear as it sounds on my computer.. but when i upload it it sounds glitchy and distorted.. please help..

  • ignore this shit, the fl studio limiter is better for comp and limiting, why the hell would you use this route at all.

  • @alexgowers - to each his own

  • @alexgowers Just about any third party limiter is better than the one in fruity loops.Fruity loops is a great intuitive DAW but its more about what you bring into it. Ive been using it since 3.0, so I'm not making shit up.

P.s and why are you so upset? Its a tutorial, if you have better advice then leave some constructive criticism but you don't have to be a douchebag about it.

  • cool video

  • where can i get wave candy

  • @DJSICKSKILLZ - it's free with FL Studio in the effects list in Mixer

  • i think your videos are very helpful. one question about the mastering process. instead of using plug ins, how can i use an external device to control the mixer and use some sort of hardware for my effects?

  • Very helpful, thanks.

  • very very good tutorial very professional it helps

    keep it up

  • Helpful! Favorited and subscribed

  • you are awesome....
