I think the original design issue was with the magnets interfering with each other. Try stacking 2 or more plates and staggering the magnets so that different pairs are always at the strongest repelling strength but not near another set of magnets. Going to be straight forward with you. Free energy doesn't exist. However, if you wish to attempt to due the impossible, IMO you are better off using a totally mechanical design. The reason is if you are able to produce any extra energy, it will likely be a incredibility small amount. All of which you will easily loose over the electrical resistance of the wires. Brushed motors are so old school try using electrically-commentated type motors instead they are more efficient. Also magnets strength drops rapidly with distance so it would probably work better if you had properly designed rotor then you can make a motor that can go faster than a simple CPU fan can. RPM != Power Output.

Will your motor do work? Like lift a weight up from its resting place. Please look up what a common motor does. Early motors were steam right. The spinning flywheel; was attached to rotating shaft by large wide belts. When one wanted to do some work; like turn a chair leg; you put a belt from the steam engine shaft down to your lath shaft and it turned to do your work. Currently the only thing that is different; steam turns a generator which moves electrons over wires to your chair leg maker.

THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR DISCOVERY...well, first i didn't believe, so i had to try. IT REALLY WORKS! I had some minor problems in the beginning, I painted the north pole green, so it didn't work. You have to paint it blue, otherwise it won't work. You can also make an electrostatic version of this generator, with plastic tubes (you can cut a plastic pen on 2-3 pieces) and paint it one half yellow (that's the positive charge) and other half green (the negative charge).

But I think the reason for many of these youtube videos is that they are mostly just tests to at least see of something could be done this way or not, people either lose interest or youtube might remove too 'working' videos, and of course you may not have been looking hard enough. You can't "tap" into it because as soon as you try to get ANYTHING from it you end up slowing down the perpetual motion.
I am no scientist by far, but I would think that if you use the magnetic repulsion to spin the thing on a bearing. The green thing is an electromagnet powered by a DC source. It provides the force which spins the wheel. Current to it is interrupted by the commutator in the center.
In this way, he bypasses the repulsion of the alternate bank of magnets, by switching the electromagnet off when the magnets would hit the magnetic 'peak' so to speak.
This uses power, it doesn't create it. That, would be impossible.
From what I've seen of others you need to have an asymmetrical design - i.e horseshoe magnet shap to cause an imbalence in the magnetic filed - a vortex?

Magnets have an electric field (you probably already understand it). As you use the magnets, they DO create energy, but they also lose their magnetism slowly. Current magnets are extremely inefficient, but if we ever find/create an element capable of higher energy levels, then we may switch from petroleum to magnets.. but probably not.

You've got it all wrong, guys. The fact that magnets require energy to be polarized is a complete red herring. If that were true, we could use magnets as super-batteries. The reason this doesn't work is simple:
Inverse Square Law. The attraction gets weaker EXPONENTIALLY as the magnets get further apart, so no amount of staggering will get them over "the hump."
Also this is a video of a normal magnetic motor. You can even see the power cables right there, and they trail offscreen...

Brushed motors are so old school try using electrically-commentated type motors instead they are more efficient. Also magnets strength drops rapidly with distance so it would probably work better if you had properly designed rotor then you can make a motor that can go faster than a simple CPU fan can. RPM != Power Output.

Everyone of these videos are made by people who do not understand electricity and instead choose to learn their own sort of method instead of the proper one because learning their way is easier and they feel smarter. They think they know something we don't and it makes them feel good. I want to know why they all use those horrible test leads. They use tiny wire which is a load in itself.

Will your motor do work? Like lift a weight up from its resting place. Please look up what a common motor does. Early motors were steam right. The spinning flywheel; was attached to rotating shaft by large wide belts. When one wanted to do some work; like turn a chair leg; you put a belt from the steam engine shaft down to your lath shaft and it turned to do your work. Currently the only thing that is different; steam turns a generator which moves electrons over wires to your chair leg maker.

Your obviously enthusiastic. But that battery powered. You can see the cables running to the motor underneath. And the motor shape. You need to make friction negative. Which means you need a haedron collider. Which means you need about 7trillion dollars and permission to tunnel under the earth. And even then you'd be lucky to negate friction for more than a nanosecond.

THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR DISCOVERY...well, first i didn't believe, so i had to try. IT REALLY WORKS! I had some minor problems in the beginning, I painted the north pole green, so it didn't work. You have to paint it blue, otherwise it won't work. You can also make an electrostatic version of this generator, with plastic tubes (you can cut a plastic pen on 2-3 pieces) and paint it one half yellow (that's the positive charge) and other half green (the negative charge).

@jonservo I have seen them powering a whole wall of light bulbs. But I think the reason for many of these youtube videos is that they are mostly just tests to at least see of something could be done this way or not, people either lose interest or youtube might remove too 'working' videos, and of course you may not have been looking hard enough. There's lots of faking in youtube videos to impress people, so the good ones are lost in the masses of mass-appeal-videos, and so on.

@jonservo It might also not be too far-fetched to think that some of these videos are deliberately made to build people's hopes up and then to reveal that it didn't work after all or that it was a fake, to make people mistrust free-energy altogether, and to continue trusting the big oil business as usual. So people would immediately think 'fake', when they even hear the term 'free energy'.

Although i wouldnt put it past an oil company to do something dishonest i think the real problem with "free energy" is seen by those familiar with the physics of energy, the laws of conservation of energy and the laws of thermodynamics. In this instance the old phrase "Nothing is Free" works nicely. The future of power is (in my opinion) going to be in efficiency and consumption. Doing more with less is much more realistic than making something from nothing

@rathtain The point about perpetual motion of our earth around the sun is that there's no frictional forces slowing it down (there is an AMAZINGLY small deceleration but it's negligible wrt human life times). You can't "tap" into it because as soon as you try to get ANYTHING from it you end up slowing down the perpetual motion.

I am no scientist by far, but I would think that if you use the magnetic repulsion to spin the thing on a bearing. What if you used the same principle to rotate the center thus eliminating the need for a bearing. Wouldn't that increase the speed without the unnecessary friction caused by the bearing? Just saying.

@doctorh2005 Because he is. Or a DC power supply.
The green thing is an electromagnet powered by a DC source. It provides the force which spins the wheel. Current to it is interrupted by the commutator in the center.
In this way, he bypasses the repulsion of the alternate bank of magnets, by switching the electromagnet off when the magnets would hit the magnetic 'peak' so to speak.
This uses power, it doesn't create it. That, would be impossible.

@ideeman1994 Let me clue you in on the thing every single perpetual motion maker doesn't understand: using the energy in magnets requires energy. Magnets have an electric field (you probably already understand it). As you use the magnets, they DO create energy, but they also lose their magnetism slowly. Current magnets are extremely inefficient, but if we ever find/create an element capable of higher energy levels, then we may switch from petroleum to magnets.. but probably not.

@Killjoyxtrm I'm not sure you fully understand how magnets work. Magnets don't contain energy, at least not anymore than any other matter contains energy. They are materials which, due to their structure, have a persistent magnetic field about them; they don't really decay enough to worry about.
Regardless, entropy makes perpetual motion is impossible; you WILL lose energy from your system, especially if you're USING that energy for anything other than driving the perpetual motion machine.

@jboyengy there is no proof that perpetual motion is impossible. I agree that this machine probably isn't overunity, but the word "impossible" does not apply. The laws suggesting the impossibility of perpetual motion have no proofs, they have only been shown by experiment to be true most of the time, but that isn't the same as a proof. I do think that some people take the perpetual motion idea too far, but I encourage people to think and experiment. That is the heart of science.

The *LAWS* of thermodynamics are laws for a reason: they are universally accepted by the science community, those people who make it their life's work to understand the universe. You can't prove these laws anymore than you can't prove we aren't living in the Matrix. Pitching perpetual motion as a solution to an energy crisis is either ignorant or irresponsible.

It's one thing to oppose funded perpetual motion research, but I think it's wrong to oppose personal experimentation. True science starts at home with crazy ideas like this

@thesourceofx Well, I wasn't discouraging experimentation. It's a good way to learn (although pursuing a perpetual motion machine would likely require ignoring everything you're learning along the way), and it's definitely a good way to get the ball rolling on new science. I was mainly clarifying how magnets work.
But yeah, I suppose I meant "impossible" in the non-absolute sense. It's just hard to communicate the improbability of it in just a word or two ("improbable" doesn't cut it).

@thesourceofx I disagree with you. Perpetual motion is impossible and I don't think anyone without a PhD in physics and engineering is going to disproof that in their garage. However, I do agree that crazy ideas start in the garage and like I commented before on the previous video this could be the start of a design for a more efficient electric motor, or something else, but NOT a perpetual machine. People have to know the difference between energy and forces. Force is NOT energy.

You've got it all wrong, guys. The fact that magnets require energy to be polarized is a complete red herring. If that were true, we could use magnets as super-batteries. The reason this doesn't work is simple:
Inverse Square Law. The attraction gets weaker EXPONENTIALLY as the magnets get further apart, so no amount of staggering will get them over "the hump."
Also this is a video of a normal magnetic motor. You can even see the power cables right there, and they trail offscreen...
