  • Warm Clean : meh. Bright Clean : not bad. Super Crunch : shit just got real ! o_O. OD1 : holy shit ! o.o. OD2 : *fall off chair.

  • Which song is on 01:00 min?

  • what microphone is he using? can someone tell me please! thanks! :D and also if someone knows what cabinet is he using? One last thing i think he's using pedals because the cable is different so what pedals are being used?

  • so what pedals are being used in this demo?

  • I am so torn between this and the 104el34... I wish I could have both..

  • @tilourlightsburnout What kind of music do you want to play, that will help, one is built for british metal, thrash metal etc, this one is built for modern, nu, death, xc bands etc.

  • Your video is a favorite on Vilnius

  • saw one of these in nevada music today IT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL i was luck enough to touch it .....yes people ....touch it ....but i did not play it :( (fuck sake) but thats why we have Mr Andy James :)

  • what tuning is this in?? or is it just standard??

  • @DonkeyPunch1561 D standard for the first two then Drop C for the last two demos.

  • I WANT ONE SO FRICKING BAD I BETTER GET SAVING!

  • Just bought that babe. Guys, It feels like Christmas and all my 22 birthdays I had so far combined!

  • What pedals is this going through?

  • @MusicFan479 no pedals.

  • I have to admit, to my ears, the 6l6 version sounds better. Clean and driven. Epic Amp!

  • could you possibly post the tabs beginning at 1:01 and on? Thank you!

  • if this amp has been around for so long, why was it ony in the second last issue of Guitarist where it was reviewed???

  • @sunnyjim98 It's been out two years, max.

  • @Blargaha goddamn Guitarist are very slow then! haha

  • @sunnyjim98 Yeah, Blackstar has really made some noise in the last years. Good for them:)

  • @Blargaha definitely, these are the best amps you can get for the money!

  • @sunnyjim98 Yeah, I'm saving for this one!

  • I am very interested in this amp but all the demos sound the same. I would like to hear the amp with the power turned down but the volume turned up. I would also like to see Blackstar go to dual knobs for all the eq. ie: an inner and outer knob for each EQ control so you could have seperate EQ for each channel. the other thing I am torn with is, 6L6 or EL34....Decisions...Decisions! From what I see, this is the amp for "My" Future.

  • Woah! That's insane! I'm going to look into upgrading from my first gen Blackstar series one 100 to this :D.

  • blackstars are awesome, i've a ht 60 and would like to upgrade to one of these

  • Does anyone know how this amp sounds compared to the fireball 100W? Both amps rule, but this one has MIDI and my ENGL doesn't...

  • @RemySin just a question, but what will u do with midi on an amp?

  • I bought one of these bad boys just over a week ago and it is absolutely brutal. I love it. Expensive though but I had promised myself a quality valve amp for ages. Rock on. Andy is The Man BTW. \m/

  • Bein a tight wad tho i didnt buy it. As good as i think it is i just dont need its flexibility im happy with what i got.... No harm in tryin stuff tho but 1100 quid will help take my family on hols ;0)

  • I played through this amp at my local music shop and was absolurely blown away. Its the best amp ive ever played without any doubt and that includes marshalls mesas peavey h&k. Its price was amazing too @ £1100 its cheaper than most its competitors. I know sound is very subjective but for me this is the one

  • I love this!!!!!

  • Based on the videos of each, it seems like this amp has a very loose bottom end. Which is no good for most metal. The el34 version has a much tighter sounding bass response. Which makes no sense, because 6l6 is supposed to have a tighter bottom. Maybe it's the settings he's using?

  • @Reaper31292 I own this amp. It's the settings he's using, mostly the fact that the resonance is nearly maxed out. Keep it at 12 o'clock or slightly lower and you can get a pretty tight bass response.

  • @Reaper31292 it's also the fact that the highest gain setting OD2 has far less bass damping than OD1, stay on OD1 and you can get some very tight tones especially nearer the american side of the ISF

  • the 6L6 version is more suited for metal I'm gona go El34 :D

  • I ordered this amp today, can't wait to play it =)

  • Ive just bought one of these, i've always been in love with my Mesa Dual Rec Tremoverb, but after trying one of these for just 10 minutes at the weekend i was converted, and this has been the only amp ever that has made me think its better than my tremoverb. The amount of gain on these things is unreal yet the clean is beautiful. For me the Warm Clean and supercrunch channels are all you'll ever need. A truely amazing amplifier

  • @eggleberlin Hey man I am about to pull the trigger on this one! Any words of advice?

  • @Wrangler4Life yeah, buy it. :-). I doubt you'll regret it. The clean is the best iver ever heard the supercrucnch is the best rhythm tone ever and the the 2 overdrive channels are mind blowing. I tried both the EL34 & 6L6 version but thought the 6L6 version was loads better. Far warmer and more body but obviously thats my personal opinion. I find OD1 a bit bright for my tastes, but OD2 is beautifully smooth, i use that as my lead channel with the gain about half way. All in all AWESOME

  • @eggleberlin Awesome. Thanks :-)

  • Are you using and pedals? Or is this straight into the amp?

  • I literally just made an account to ask this question.

Are there any stores in Ontario Canada that carry Blackstar amps.

I love this Series one 100 with the 6L6 and to get my hands on one would be spectacular.

    Please reply!

  • @meah941 Yeah the YT channel is great, but the customer service leaves alot to be desired, emails, info on their website etc. Specifically about tube changes. Even Bugera has info on thier site about tubes. I am not saying that as a Blackstar hater, but as an owner of a Blackstar who loves his amp.

  • Is the sound coming from the SM58 or the Emulated Output?

    Cheers

  • IMHO a video with a proper cab would have been better.Never felt in love with HT blackstar cabs. Artisan ones are WAY better

  • Please get other guys to demo this amazing amp. Andy's idea of distortion is way too bassy and muddy.

  • @Vinchester87 It probably sounds a lot better in the actual room, he's got that sm58 very close mic'ed and having it that close you get the 'proximity effect' which is the reason it sounds a bit muddy :) if the mic was back a couple of inches and a bit of the bass was dialed out it would sound really nice

  • @DavidWorthMusic Ah I see. Thanks for telling me. That's quite a good observation!

  • @AlvisLiquid - it's muddy because the ISF is set to the UK side. If you watch the video of the S1-45 super crunch demo, it explains this. To compare this to a spider 2 is bad - I'm going to guess the Metal/Insane settings? - spider 2 lacks warmth and is a digital representation of amp compression...2 different things

  • @hellview666 I own a series one 200, and the Spider thing wast just a joke. I'm gonna take my comment back, as I recently found out how loud it must be cranked. When master and channel volume are beyond 12 o clock it starts to sound jesus-like.

  • Please tell me this is going to be one of your standard amps. Cause if this is discontinued before I can save enough to get one I don't know where else I'm gonna get this sound.

  • @AlvisLiquid As opposed to what amp?

  • does the 6L6's have more gain than the el34's?! Because the 104el34 hasn't the same quantity of gain in the other video... can you do another demo of the 104el34 and 1046L6 with the same settings?! sorry for my bad english....

  • Warm Clean is the clean tone I crave, and I just about manage it with my Series One 45/Parker Nitefly combination.

As for Super Crunch and OD2....holy hell!

  • 1.04.. i'm in love with whatever song that is!! i wanna hear more of it dammit.

  • I wonder if it could handle my low F string...

  • @LessthanJake14 Low F's sound massively chunky. Check out the Demo of John Browne demonstrating the Emulated out on the Series One 200, he's using an 8-string tuned down to low F.

  • May just be my 51 y/o hearing loss ears but I think the Dual rec has more gain than the Blackstar. I will do another test this week. There is a difference with all the youtube compression. I also play my amp with a Weber Mass 150 75% of the time.

  • @hawg427 well i suppose it probably would have more gain but too much gain does terrible things to your tone...

  • Sounds like this one has a lot more GAIN than my Blackstar Stage 100 Head.

  • @hawg427 seriously? i played a ht 60 with to gain set at 10 o'clock and it had more than enough gain for metal

  • Wow does that sound incredible!! The first clean sound is amazing and OD2 is stupid!! I have a HT-60S and when it's time to upgrade I'll be getting one of these!! You keep outdoing yourselves!

  • oh my!! super crunch sounds so fuckin sweet to me.

  • The warm clean demo is haunting,i love the fact hat there are crosses where it says "SERIES ONE", the knobs are dark so are the transformers, conveys the message quite well, speak of looks that can kill! OD2 was in full gain yet each single note was pronounced clearly. Although if it was me i would scoop the Mids and the presence, boost the trable and i would be in Thrash Metal Avenue. Best S1 so far. I AM SOLD!

  • @Wrangler4Life Imho not the best, just the heaviest...the el34 ones behave differently, they are more rock oriented amplifiers IMHO :)

  • @Wrangler4Life Can't stop coming back to this.

  • @Wrangler4Life Bought it :D
