Hows this fucking crazy? It's the smart way. Not like American retard way where they just hang it on their redneck tractors with 60 cylinder coal engine and Hitler music playing
When I see "Euro" I don't think of Scotland as part of it... They all use the cradle method. Although towing a car can cause parking problems for others when they take the car or even cause a huge queue of traffic behind them while they deal with one car
Ardvark, I lived in Spain most of my life. And you? Cars in Europe are smaller. Everything in the USA is bigger (cars, houses, meals, people). I don't need to go into the reasons for that... we all know why.
@AlwaysCandidPhoto Lived in five countries so far (Germany, Turkey, Ethiopia, Japan, and now the US). The cars I see on the road around here are about the same size as the ones I saw in Germany. The difference being that, in the U.S., there are many SUVs (trucks) and pickups (trucks). So, if you consider cars alone (not trucks), the ones in the US are about the same as you will see anywhere. Even in this tiny town that I live in (population 2500) there are a couple of Smart (stupid) cars.
As far as houses, meals and people, I agree with you completely. The houses tend to be large but very cheaply made. Standard construction materials are wood, paper and chalk. The only stone that you will find in most of them is the concrete foundation. Europeans got us beat on that one. Americans are big due, in part, to the meals being so big. I rarely go to a restaurant because the serving sizes are so big that I generally only eat about half.
@AlwaysCandidPhotos Smaller than what? You would know...how? Ever been out of the country (US)? Ever been out of your state? Americans, in general, know less about the rest of the world than people in any other industrialized nation but seem to think everyone else is playing catch up. I can show you a few places that make us look extremely backwards. Sorry about the rant but I'm really tired of the American (US) attitude and so is most of the rest of the world.
@KPAracing That mightent have been ideal if they didnt have the keys to get into the car and take off the hand brake and take it out of gear to roll it up onto it.
It's been done like that in London for at least 25years. I remember a parking team doing a sweep on a street near my school; they moved most by having large bunches of keys that worked on almost anything and driving away, the crane method was used for the difficult ones - those with, now standard, immobiliser systems.
Thats how they used to tow cars back home, when I used to live in Europe. Here in the USA youll have a slightly retarded redneck with Metallicas song playing in his tow pick-up truck pulling and damaging your car with inadequate towing equipment.
I'm originally from Vancouver Canada and when I moved to Edinburgh and witnessed this for the first time, I thought it was repo guys reposessing the car!! It's insane lol
I think it's mainly because you can lift any car without the owner's permission and it won't damage the vehicle in any way. My car can't be towed because of it's automatic transmission, a flatbed is the only option really.
this is the same way they unloaded cars out ship hauls before containers were invented nothing new about this just adapted to a truck

They have this because in the UK we have very tight parking spaces and this makes it easy to get a car whatever positions.
We also have frame sliders if it get really close
