Hey-if you are serious about public safety then do not cut any education or rehabilitation programs at all.
What is needed is 6 month parole terms for all first term inmates, half time for all first termers.
Lets stop wasting a bunch of money on the ones that but for one possible mistake they were able to live in society.
Every dollar spen on education in the prison system saves $10 in custody costs.
Half of all the money spent on a inmate ($52,000) per year should go to education.
