Why buy a toyota? The american cars are just as good now and cheaper. You will be keeping the dollars here and the economy rolling. I been to japan and those japs think their (japanese)cars are junk. They love american cars and european cars. So. this proves that this is a mentality issue here in the states. Rethink your purchase next time and take a closer look at our domestic cars you will be impressed.

GAS PEDAL MADE IN USA.

the japanese company that makes the gas pedal used in japanese made toyota uses a metal bolt assembly while the american company that makes the gas pedal used in american made toyotas uses plastic parts.

japanese toyotas don't have a gas pedal problem, and thus no recall needed.

to fix the problem, they are issuing small stainless steel adhesive backed stickers to car dealers to make sure the plastic parts of the gas pedal don't stick together

Not convinced... there was a minneapolis man with a lexus (japanese pedal) on the local news here last year that had his take off while cuising down the interstate. Hit the brake still accelerating put his foot under the gas and lifted up still accelerating... got it pulled to the side of the road and stopped by shifting into nuetral engine bouncing off rev limiter. Turned car off and then restarted back to idle that is electrical not a sticking pedal. It may be some of the problems but not all.

re-doubling. because doubling it the first time didn't solve the problem. oh well, i am glad to hear him say they are sorry.
