  • When I heard they played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and a Rainbow appeared after the memorial, I swear the hair on my neck stood on end!

In a city that is just polluted with evil and deceit, this rainbow HUGE rainbow appears to cover the city!!! I'm to this day blown away by that.

  • My heart was in throat as I watched this video. We need to have people watch it. Tim was one of a kind. The world was lucky to have him!!! Rest in Peace, Tim!!! The world misses you!!

  • Missed you last night Tim. God bless you.

  • so did I...

    peace!

  • OVER THE HARRP, OVER THE HARRP

  • buddyboy....I'll have to disagree with you. Tim Russert was an honest, country loving, family loving man. He took his journalism seriously and did so without favoritism.

  • Sure miss Tim Russert. America misses his integrity and professionalism at a time in our lives when journalism is becoming more and more paid opinion.

  • or corse mccain didnt give a shit

  • the singers name is Isreal Kamamawiwo'ole aka IZ ... he was a hawaiian musician. i'm 90% sure this is him

  • Usually a President or a dignatary gets this kind of funeral. Rare for someone like Tim. Thanks for putting this up my friend!

  • i remember every sunday morning waking up trying to find cartoons, but i would always come across channel 4, where tim russert was always there talking on meet the press.

  • That's not the point.

  • Wie heisst der Sänger des Liedes?

    Whats the Singers Name?

  • the singer name is Israel kamakawiwo'ole the best hawaiian artist ever who died in 1997 at the age of 38

you can find many videos of him on youtube and his music everywhere ..he was amazing

  • Oh funkalicious, you are such a pig. Politics aside, he was a man of great integrity, faithful to his wife, wonderful son to his father, precious father to his son. And God Himself had a message for Tim and the family, Welcome to Heaven, well done my good and faithful servant. Go drink your koolaid. What a hateful person you are.

  • Well said!

  • Funkal, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Since it's obvious you don't know of the man why don't you simply go somewhere where someone might appreciate your ridiculous unsubstantiated drivel. What people are waking up to pal is that they are sick and tired of lies and hate....exactly what you're peddling.

  • what a beautiful vid...btw wat is a double rainbow? (if it was showed in the vid i didnt notice) also y did he say "florida, florida, florida"? i kno that that was his way of saying it for the final time but y did he say it?

  • Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. you can find it on you tube.

  • das ist das lied!!!!! traurieg mein lied!!

  • That was Tim Russert's way of saying "FLORIDA FLORIDA FLORIDA" for the final time.

  • Does anybody know who is singing the song???

Odd thing happened, After I watched the Tim Russert service that Wednesday my wife called me to the back door. She pointed out a double rainbow in the sky. "I live in Florida".

  • I believe it's called Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole

  • too short, I wanted to hear the whole song

  • This was beautiful .Well done. Tim- Rest in Peace- God Speed... you will be missed..

  • ....I have always loved this version of the Song...

I am a career Stewardess/Flight Attnedant. I was flying for United but on medical leave during 0911...

On the 1st anniversary of 0911 I was living in Las Vegas and attended a beautiful Mass to remember. There was a tremendous storm during the service...loud thunder and lighteing. As we all left the church we were greeted by a blessed double rainbow. Bless you Mr. Russert for giving us comfort from beyond the double rainbow...GO BILLS..

  • i lost a very good friend on 911 he was one of the 23 nypd offices killed... good to know that the rainbow was there for u

    cheers

  • I am sorry for your loss derrickkcomedy of your good friend...sometime I still can't believe it happened. I vowed to live a little each day for each one of my co-worker on the Untied flights (I knew of 3 personally) Survivor guilt is real...let me tell you. I will never forget all those we lost that fateful day...blessings

  • im so sorry

  • Yeah --- what a country ....going down the tubes that is....and Tim was one of the few in the media willing to be critical of those who should be held accountable! He knew the darkness our political culture breeds and how to expose it to the light. So, Tim deserves rainbows and commendations. Washington and it's power elite deserve tar and feathers !

  • nice music...too bad it had obama and mccain....assholes from hell. Tim was a great man - not so the pricks who will someday take over the reins of the WH...hope they join Tim soon

  • Very well done! To whoever created this, I want you to know that you truly created an excellent video! Thank you so very much!

  • wonderful

  • Rest in peace Tim may the lord open his gates on your arival

My Dad passed away recently and this was one of his favourite songs.

    Thanks

You'll see Izzy or Israel who passed away a few years ago. Enjoy

  • I'm sorry to hear about your father. I heard Joey Ramone's has one and I know Israel Kamakawiwo has an absolutely amazing version combined with Wonderful World. Get the tissues ready when listen to Israel's version...

  • Correction...Joey Ramone has another version of Wonderful World.

  • What an absolutely touching and simple video. It brought tears to my eyes. Well done.

  • one of the most buetyfull songs ever.

  • beautiful :)

  • for sure! :)

  • He was such a great wonderful man whenever anyone was in his presence. The rainbows just seem so fitting after his funeral service. Its actually quite remarkable.

  • so sad

  • I just lost my Dad on June 3rd, so my heart goes out to the family of Mr. Russet. I know my Dad and him are having a great time up in heaven talking about the crazy things going on down here. I can't wait to see my Dad again!

  • u will

  • Thank You for this video.

    Rest In Peace Mr. Russert

    God Bless Us All

  • cheers

  • today im proud to be from Buffalo.....

  • your superbowl ring is for sure coming now

  • today, Tim's wife said that she strangely requested a hug from her husband and stated Just i case i never see you again..that was the last time she saw him...That incident is a clear example of the Holy Spirit in their life....the day before my sister was left severly brain injured from a car accident she yelled to me that she loved me..something she NEVER did..it was a gift of strength to go on..Tim was called home..

  • he was a gift

  • Over the rainbow is Irael Kakowaki's (not sure of the spelling) version. It is right below this video if you type in Tim Russert Over the Rainbow.

  • This is lovely, derrickkcomedy. Earlier, I say this without the text. Is that one around? Thanks, Catmandu

  • thank you

  • sorry! it's not

  • Thank you for posting this. Just beautiful...amazing! Does anyone know if the version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow played at the service was by IZ (as sung on this video) or Jason Castro (played on Fox affiliate TV news clip I saw) Thanks!

  • I believe it was the one by IZ that played at the Kennedy Center Memorial.

  • Thanx...you are right, caught a DVR'd taping and it was,indeed,IZ.
