The Mallard was the first loko where I learned at school that Great Britain engineers did not sleep since the time of Stevenson. So while my classmates went to London on school trip I went to York to the raiway museum (one pupil, one teacher). It was my first visit to GB since I was 5 weeks old.
I enjoyed the models, especially the P2. I hope somebody gets inspired to build a full size P2.
