Ha ha, right on, man. And as for the 'good book' having no loopholes...well, that's about all the frick it is. There are SO many passages that are contradictory that it's not even funny.
I propose that everyone keep their nose in their own business and live and let live. If two people of the same sex want to marry, let them! No sane reason not to.
what? you're retarded, if your implying gay is inborn then that mean it comes from your parents. am i right, okay then is it recessive or dominant???
furthermore if i did an experience and deprived x number of ppl from any outside environmental influential lives do you think they'll turn out straight or gay. because im pretty sure straight is natural seeing as how we didnt choose to be this way, gay ppl choose to be gay from other influences.
aikenatlas..sorry wrong again..IT IS ABOUT GOD, God sets up the morals, values and healthy living that we ALL need to live by, and God is love.. period.. gays just want to rebel and attack Christians.. it's not about being "equal" lol.. that's a joke.. and 1 man and 1 woman is NOT equal to 2 men and 2 women, get it?? lol.. quit side stepping the real issue,, NO GAY RIGHTS
aikenatlas ..umm those are not agendas lol.. don't mix apples and oranges ok...it IS ABOUT GOD..why do you think these shallow Hollywood types are doing this? duh..to try to defame God,,but it won't work.. and btw GAYS WILL NEVER BE EQUAL.. wake up!..and it's not about being "equal".. they want special treatment, nothing more.. and you know it.. and who says I hate anyone? you gays like to throw that word around, your all hippocrites, your the ones that spread HATE, not Christians..
..wtf ..who is this KID.. this lil kid is clueless.. can i please get a real mature video on the brain washing gay agenda.. didn't think so.. im gonna make my own anti gay video.. NO GAY RIGHTS !
@RAIDERS7009 Here is my "gay" agenda. I work, pay taxes, vote, spend money, love my family, friends, God and country, practice charity and gratitude, say please and thank you, have health insurance and car insurance, have a loving relationship of 10 years.Probably not much different from your own agenda I imagine. If this were about God don't you think I don't know that you would be in opposition to atheists marrying? This is not about God this is about hate. SUPPORT EQUALITY.
I think there are parts of the bible that should not be taken seriously, especially Genesis. The Holy Bible, like the Qur'an, was written a long time ago, back when most people thought very differently than they do now. As for marriage, I wouldn't be surprised if the two individuals getting married originally had no say in the matter.
However, I am not against to individuals making a contract with 1 another. The Argument over marriage is REALLY about tax cuts Married couples receive.
The KEY here is, these are taxes PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE PAYING ANYWAYS.
A marriage is a contract between 2 adults. But now it's 2 adults + Government. Gay marriage, like feminism & civil rights movement, are REALLY about taxes
its just that the world is retarded and people are to afraid of chang and if a 15 year old can accept chage why cant the 900 year old see it as well if he's so "wise"
@vanityrivera Well for one those things were created for a purpose and are used for that purpose. I mean most people use eyeglasses for their eyes. That's what they're made for. Man and woman becoming one is what's natural, because that's what they were created for. We would be in trouble if we were created to love, marry, and/or procreate with individuals from the same sex.
How IS it unnatural sir? Does it not happen in nature? Do not dogs, sheep, dolphins, pigs, horses, Canadian geese, roosters, chimpanzees (who are 98% equal to human), and yes even cute penguins have gay individual animals? Are not humans themselves homo sapiens and in nature themselves? Is it not a natural phenomenon? Do you have the rules of nature written down? If so I like many would like to see them. We will even call you our prophet.
That's how they handled stuff back then. Just like now days ppl discipline children with time-outs vs. wooden spoons to the behind. Ppl take scripture so literal sometimes and don't consider the times these things took place. Take the MEANING from scripture at times- not just the face value.
Deuteronomy 22: 20- "But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:"
21-"Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her fathers house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she adie: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her fathers house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."
gah i hate it when people use the whole 'whats next' agument!! pedophilia is wrong because children are not see to be able to give consent same as animals ergo it would be considered forced sex or rape which is very wrong indeed!
two adult people of the same sex should be able to do what two adult people of the opposite sex do without you sticking your nose in!!
Pro-gay marriage people need a more persuasive argument to support your views beyond name calling. If you want to redefine "gay" and "marriage" why not redefine "consent" and "adult." And it REALLY doesn't help when you take bible verses out of context in an attempt to support perversion.
Christians are no longer bound by the Mosaic law along with the animal sacrifices and worship on the sabbath. Jesus says so at Matt 5:17. Christians now follow principles found at Matt 22:36-40
Very creative. However, poo-pusher unions are biologically inferior to one man/one woman. The sexes are not interchangeable like Legos. Take it up with Mother Nature.
ehm do you happen to know the definition of marriage The Oxford Dictionary defines it as the formal union of a man and a woman, as recognised by law, by which they become husband and wife so you are saying because men and women are both defined as people we should disregard any differences between them. because sub catergories do exist we have language for understanding but it seems that flew over your head
this is what i hear when someone tells me "gay marriage is wrong it says so in the bible!"
i hear "god is a jerk and doesnt want gay people to have the same rights as the one they love. but he's god so ofcourse he's the one who decided they would be born gay. so he did it to be a jerk to them."
which ofcourse ill argue "god is not a jerk! he loves all people"
but people still choose to argue with that.
great video. i loved all the evidence from the bible.
Bro you are my hero, i wish i had a list of all of those verses that you pulled out of the bible, i would totally read them to my jesus freak friend and make her feel like a dumbass=)
7 out of 10 Black voters & 53% of Hispanic voters voted YES. It NEVER ceases to amaze me that people who ALWAYS complain about discrimination are ALWAYS the first to discriminate against others. Don't forget, in the US, people of colour couldn't marry each other, & certainly not Whites, especially. may people would still vote to make the latter illegal in America, too, no doubt, for many of the same reasons they voted "yes" on November 4th. STUPID knows no colour.
I don't know what kind of Black people you know, but NONE I know were ever raised to feel low or inferior, myself included, especially since we knew that all bigotry is due to feelings of inferiority on the part of the bigot.
Secondly, what I posted was fact. If you can't handle that, that's really not my problem. I pointed out the hipocrisy of those who bleat about discrimination, then, when given the chance, discriminate against others.
If you can speak for everyone you know, I can do the same those I know.
Regarding peoples' low self-esteem, which, of course, isn't limited to black people, &, btw, what does that even have to do w/ the subject at hand(?), remember what Eleanor Roosevelt's quoted as saying:
"NO ONE can make you feel infrior without you permission."
Actually, yes, they do. White LGBT people discriminate against people of colour all the time, not letting them into gay clubs or restaurants or stores, demanding 4 pieces of picture ID, which is, frankly, akin to the old Southern "literacy tests" when Blacks tried to register to vote.
Black & Hispanic communities have always been very homophobic. The ads had nothing to do w/ it. From the pulpit to the pub, it's definitely there. Always has been.
Always & never apply when it's the truth. I'm not closed-minded. I'm observant. If you choose not to see or accpet what happened & why, that's your business.
I know what happened. I don't need you to ackowledge it, too.:)
No, you're just pretentious enough to believe that since I disagree w/ you, I must be wrong.
Get over it. It happened, &, while those who voted it for it will never admit to calling it discrimination, that's what it was, period. Whenever a group which complains about discrimination turns around & denies another group their civil rights, it's discimination, however you want to slice it, and it's highly hypocritical.
Anyone who practices Christianity should be sacraficed due to the radical ideals and practices counter to the safety of the Republic and its citizens!!!! Sound familiar? Daniel to the Lions. Have you learned nothing through your own struggles. Jesus helped the sick and poor, and embraced the sinners. You now live a life of hate, consumed only by your need to assimilate the rest of the world into your way, forgetting the words of your savior. The Persecuted becomes the Persecutors! For The Deaf?
Your comment "You now live a life of hate, consumed only by your need to assimilate the rest of the world into your way, forgetting the words of your savior" was very well said. A lot of Christians are forgetting the love aspect of God. Yes, he hates sin. But he loves sinners. I for one was for prop 8, but not out of hate. The point of my reply isnt to get into a debate, but to say a lot of pro prop 8 people dont hate gays.
Although i do admit that a lot of people do hate gays =(
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
don't be mad becuase GOD's will didn't allow homo's to marry. amen. I am only a bigot because I disagree with your beliefs. I am glad I haven't gave into the ways of satan and his world.
"The half-dozen biblical references to homosexuality do not reflect what we understand today about loving relationships. This is an identity, not a sin." (The Rev. Dan Johnson of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Edina,MN.Some people are not trying to celebrate these sins but instead look for equal rights and want to have the same type of unity that other married couples have. Why do you want to deny them of these rights? Even more, why are some of you bashing and placing bad comments?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
amazing how easy it is to turn your back on whats morally right to justify your own atrocious behavior. That's the problem with celebrating sins like homosexuality, it destroys the moral fabric of our culture. It's tragic. Vote Yes on 8.
I think women are sexually revolting. But I respect them. Straight men are more likely to rape. Also, some homosexuals are easy to spot in public because they are more open, or are more effeminate. It's the people who don't honestly answer polls by admitting to being gay, and those that get married and children because they feel forced, that are the problem. We need more honesty. Religion is NOT about honest. Stop lying. Prop 8 is aobut RELIGION plain and simple.
I don't know if I was born gay or if I just realized it was better and chose it. What difference does it make? I love being gay! As for same-sex marriage, discrimination is wrong, it's that simple. Vote NO on all marriage ban amendments.
lets let the gay communities also know that 102 is also a stike against one who is a poligamist, or one who would like to marry his dog cause" i love fluffy", boundries must be set in all we do and the moral boundry is one man one woman.
One can't marry their dog because a dog can't consent. This really isn't a hard concept.
There is long established precedent of the government restricting the number of legal associations one can enter into (one can only be a registered voter in one state for example). The government can't however place sex/gender restrictions on legal status. Once again, your analogy is faulty, your bigotry against homosexuality clouds your perception of the law.
Everything that is in NATURE is NATURAL. Google this. "Homosexual, as well as bisexual, behavior is widespread in the animal kingdom." Learn the facts about the planet you live in, and it's inhabitants. "The Bonobo displays the highest rate of homosexual activity in any animal." Educate yourself with the facts, and the truth. There are GAY, lions, elephants, gulls, lizards, dolphins, sheep, bison, giraffes, dragonflies, black swans, just to name a few. Did these animals choose to be GAY?
Of course! And let's all start killing our spouses, because Black Widows do it! Therefore it MUST be natural! I mean, it's part of nature, isn't it?! Do these spiders choose to have killer instincts?
Ok, the natural that is being used here is human nature. It has absolutely nothing to do with the animal kingdom. Last I checked we were all human. Not animals. The actions of the Bonobo in no way, shape or form determine the way we as people should live. Or any animal for that matter.
Humans also have the nature to kill other humans. They also kill animals, and some times just for vanity. What I was talking about was the FACT that homosexuality exist in nature. Not only in humans but in other species. Was this a "lifestyle choice" of animals? I don't think so. As for the Bonoboo, I bet he gets EQUAL treatment from all the other Bonoboos. Humans as one of the highest evolved ANIMALS on this planet, can also do such horrific things no other animal can do. All humans are EQUAL.
Yeah, it does occur in nature. But my point was animals have absolutely nothing to do with us. From an evolution standpoint(which i dont support either), we are far more evolved than any other animal. So why should we compare ourselves? And from a non evolution standpoint, its flat out stupid to compare ourselves to animals. So the comparison is pointless.
And i dont know if they choose it. Im not an animal. I dont know those things. But i do know that humans do in fact choose to be gay.
1. HUMAN nature. Period. Just let it go. That debate is over.
2. I said homosexuality is a choice. Not heterosexuality.
And I do in fact have an uncle who is gay. BUT, he turned gay because his college roomate was gay. He was quite open about this fact. So he WAS heterosexual, and TURNED gay. There isnt much more proof than that. I still love him and everything, but it doesnt mean I have to support his decision.
Well apparently it is natural among humans too, seeing as 10% of the population is gay. That was just you dodging the argument, dude.
Well if homosexuality is a choice, wouldn't heterosexuality be a choice as well? Because according to you, gays should just be able to choose to be straight.
Did your uncle really wake up one morning and decide to be gay so he could be attracted to his roommate or were there other forces at work there? sexual orientation can change, but cannot be controlled.
And one more thing mariodnyc, i know all humans are equal. And in the same way all humans sin. So i dont claim to be any better than homosexuals. And i am aware that God loves them. But it doesnt make it right. And just because they feel like it doesnt mean they should be able to do it.
And dont tell me its their "constitutional right". Have you noticed that it was never legal until just recently? Why do you think it wasnt legal in the first place?
Your bible, which is where I belive you get your morals from says, that if a woman if found not to be a virgin on her wedding night, she must be bought to the front of her fathers house and stoned to death. If you steal you should cut off your hand. If you child is disobedient, the parent have the right to stone them too. Now how silly does that sound in 2008.
Mariodnyc, you obviously havn't read the Bible. Those verses were all from this video. And yes the Bible says that. But not only was all of that taken out of context, some of it is figurative. Like cutting off your hand if it causes you to sin. Your hand cant cause sin. So you dont need to cut it off.
But the Bible is extremely clear when it says that homosexuality is a sin. And a sin doesnt become ok over time. Its still a sin. Before you make assumptions about the Bible, read it first.
So...women shouldn't be allowed to vote because it wasn't legal in the first place?
Also - people do not choose to be gay. You can't just decide to be gay. I dare you to try telling any homophobic person that - that they could just decide to be gay. I've known ever since I was little and I didn't know what 'gay' was.
you are intelligent and creative and funny as fuck...
congrats on owning the world:D.
but seriously though, i appreciate both your humor and your logical and respectful responses to Yes on 8 comments... though i think that some people are too dumb dumb dumb to change their closed minds, if anyone will be swayed, it's with logic and civility like yours, not hateful remarks. and even if no one's mind is changed, courtesy can't be a bad thing.
What is it to you homophobes anyway? Just because you let homosexuals get married doesn't mean everyone is going to turn into a homosexual. That's just ignorance. Straight people don't influence me to be straight. Your SEXUALITY IS NOT INFLUENCED. YOU CAN'T HELP HOW YOU FEEL. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK ASS HEADS.
all this Guy is doing is Making fun of The straight people that think Marriage is sacred...and the religious people who think being gay is wrong...Thats why I hope the gays loose because they are unreasonable
I meant lose only an idiot couldnt figure that out...and yes Gays are Unreasonable...they want all or nothing, they dont want to come to an agreement...
Wow, I think I just developed an instant online crush. I've just watched all you videos on Prop 8. Yyou're hilarious, and I love your answers to the ridiculous questions people asked. The movie preview reviews were also fantastic. Think we can get together and bribe someone into making a Thundercats movie?
And I know that a lot of the time they are dealing with this shit, they wish they were someone else. It is a LOT easier to be straight. So I'm sorry hun, but you are a bit naive to be blindly believing the Bible when it says that it is a choice. The Bible has a few loopholes. You need to grow up and realize that, as do a lot of people who follow the same book as you.
Yes, thankfully, there are people out there like me who accept people for who they are.. but there are a lot of people that don't, and I have many friends who have been beaten up, bullied, stolen from, and tormented because they are openly gay.
She was just afraid to admit it to herself and to those who loved her.. because she knew she would be opening herself up to hate coming from a lot of people who wouldn't accept her.
That is just one example of someone who knew they were gay but didn't want to be. OBVIOUSLY, she didn't choose to be gay. She just IS. No one would make that choice, because you either have to live a lie or face a life of hate.
The argument cannot come from the Bible, because that would be a combination of church and state, which is against the First Amendment of the Constitution. You can believe what you want, but it should NOT be able to dictate what rights are given to others. We are all equals under the law. The government is supposed to treat and protect us equally. So I don't understand how Prop 8 even got on the ballot.
Well at this point, although I still believe homosexuality is wrong, I think maybe prop 8 isn't so good. I wouldn't want someone to try to make me do something that was against what I believe.
And on a final note, I do believe people choose to be gay, but thats only because it says so in the Bible (In Romans I think). But like I've said before, I'm not trying to convince anyone over the internet. Just my opinion.
well.. I'm glad you are realizing that its wrong to make people go against their beliefs.
I wish, though, that I could help you realize that it's wrong to make people go against who they are. That's what this is really about.
There are homosexuals out there that keep their true feelings a secret for a long time. My mom has a friend who just divorced her husband because she was living a lie. She had known she was gay and that she didn't have any real attraction to her husband for a long time.
And I wish I could fully express to you the amazing love and mercy of God =]
Although this is honesly too big of an issue to argue over the internet. For both sides. And thanks for the discussion. I hope I didnt come across with the wrong idea. I really do love people, even gay people. And God definately loves gay people too. But what it comes down to is I just cant support something that I know in my heart is wrong. And there isnt really anything that can change that.
There is no denying these arguments I have made, because I am literally quoting the law. I could go on and on about all the ways discrimination is wrong, and about the ridiculous theory that people choose to be gay. But that's useless.
I hope I've gotten my main point across, which is that Prop 8 shouldn't be allowed on the ballot, let alone passed, because it's against the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. now it's time for bed. thanks.
Wouldn't you say that a very substantial part of happiness comes from relationships? Not to sound cheesy, but without love, no one is truly happy.
Marriage, for heterosexuals and homosexuals alike, is the American way of pursuing that happiness that comes from love.. not to mention the rights that come with it; for example, the tax benefits, housing, social security and medicare, joint adoption, child support, and even death and burial arrangements for spouses.
My point here is that you do not have the Constitutional Right to control the lives of people who are different from you.
It is not just that I am against Prop 8.
I believe that Proposition 8 should NOT be on the ballot, because it is against the U.S. Constitution.
Oh, and to bring up another reference that conflicts with Prop 8.. take a look at the Declaration of Independence! It clearly states that all citizens have the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
As citizens of the United States, we are all bound to this Constitution, no matter what sex, age, race, sexual orientation, OR religion.
I recognize that marriage may have started (quite some time ago) with the church, but I have some news for you; it's been recognized by the state for a while now. Things change, and although I respect your beliefs, I wish you would start to live with that change and realize that "The only thing constant is change," to quote the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.
Ok, so I have read this whole debate.. and jesse, I respect you for being open to hearing the opinions of others. Unfortunately, there are QUITE a few people who are too stubborn to listen.
So hear me out;
After reading your debate, I noticed that there was one issue tossed in and then ignored... and that is Separation of Church and State. I know you're only 16... but maybe you have learned that this is the First Amendment to our country's Constitution.
umm.. forcing people to think a certain way not only never works, it is against the law. To repeat myself, it is against the U.S. Constitution AND the Declaration of Independence. So there is no valid argument that you could give even if you tried to think of one.
There are people on BOTH sides of the issue that have their blinders on. But for the REST of us, we recognize that civil rights are for everyone.
If you don't want gay marriage around you, tell your pastor. But the point of going against Prop 8, or Prop 102, or other similar legislature, is because IF a certain church HAPPENED to perform a marriage ceremony between two people of the same sex, they won't be IGNORED when trying to claim the same rights as a different-sex couple.
There is a simple fix to all this fuss. Remove the word marriage entirely. Call it a Union of Trust. Our problem is although we have separation of church and state, religious influences are still abundant in our laws. The government does not gauge if we have sex on our honeymoons, it does not gauge if you actually LOVE the person. It is merely a form to designate combination of assets and trust of decisions of one another. And if it's marriage they want, they can have it in a church, all done..
honestly you are amazing. You need to keep making videos for prop 8. I find it absolutly funny when such ignorant people compare homosexuality with child molestation. People are so sick
And i find it funny when people assume we are saying homosexuality and child molestation are the same thing. get your facts straight. the ONLY comparison that is being made is that they are both a sin. thats it. get over it.
we could just as easily compare it to stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. only that wouldnt proove the point very well. it doesnt mean we think gays molest little kids. seriously, look into it more before you start making accusations.
I like your characters and voices! That's too funny lol. "Take a pile a poop and call it fruit?" XD. I already voted yes absentee but I still like your videos! Well put together
Apology accepted, Jesse. I strongly advise you to not persist in enlightening NinjaPoetry as he has done no groundwork/research on Biblical matters, and youtube is certainly not the place to educate him.
He needs to lay off the internet and put his head in a book and stop creating redundant videos. All the points he has made about slaves submitting to their masters and the role of women in the Bible have been refuted by *numerous youtube videos, by people who have actually done some research.*
Jesse, youve misconstrued my words entirely. What I wrote was in SUPPORT of you. Im in SUPPORT of Proposition 8- not against it.
I wrote what I wrote to let you know that NinjaPoetry is completely Biblically illiterate and that there is little point in investing your valuable time responding to someone who has clearly done little research on the moral law, ceremonial law and dietary laws which are a prevailent topic in the Old Testament.
i think that you're brilliant. and that you should continue to make prop 8 videos...and when i make my No on 8 video i will totes tag it to yours. you are a genius. you make the issue come across in a very non-accusatory way. you're hilarious. and you make your point very well. i enjoy your vids. keep posting.
geez, calm down. i dont admit to be a Biblical genius, i already said im only 16.
besides, if you really knew so much about the Bible, then you would realize that prop 8 is morally right. so i commend YOU for trying to make yourself seem smart. nice try though =]
by the way, if you want to talk about it send me a message. i really am curious of your opinion. but only if you are willing to have a civil debate.
magnum20082008, clearly you are another pro homosexual advocate who refuses to read what people write. Nowhere have I written that homosexuals 'choose' to be gay, but I do cite the APA and recent studies which confirm that one's *environment* can and DOES impact one's sexuality unconsciously. The APA have backtracked and have acknowledged that some homosexual attractions are *transient* and that homosexuality is not *objectively immutable and innate*.
Why would someone choose to live the hard way? If you had the choice between living an amazing life or living in a shithole and have nothing your life, hmm which would you choose? It isn't somebody's choice to be gay, it just wouldn't make sense.
Keep the bible out of it. Marriage is licensed by THE STATE, not by the church. By the state upholding the right of ALL CITIZENS, equally, to marry, this Prop as Prop 8 in California, will NOT affect the right of any religion or any church not to agree or accept any such members in their congregations. Do what you want in your church, but VOTE NO ON 102 AND NO ON PROP 8 IN CALIFORNIA to uphold the State's right to grant marriage licences to ALL its citizens, equally.
Haha, i think its funny when people say leave the Bible out of it.
But really, you're kidding right? What do you think this country is based around? Think about it. We are in fact "One nation under GOD". So how can we leave out the entire basis of our moral standards?
I understand you are against prop 8, and i have no problem with your opinion. But no, we cant leave the Bible out of it.
Have you heard of separation of church and state??
I understand that the term "marriage" is closely tied into the bible, so maybe we should "leave the Bible out of it". Instead, the state should just issue civil unions to every couple that wishes to apply whether it be homosexual or heterosexual couples. Although this would be ideal, I empathize for individuals who can only get civil unions because simply crossing the state line nullifies it...
The entire idea of civil unions as substitute institutions for marriage is premised on the idea that same-sex couples can have a legal institution that is separate but equal to marriage. Last I checked separate but equal was unconstitutionalI just don't understand how people can justify this blatant discrimination...
It it isn't discrimination. Or at least not in the context you are using it as. For example, when blacks and whites were segregated, that was blatant discrimination. This on the other hand is a moral issue.
Is it discrimination to outlaw polygamy? No, because its against our morals. Do we have a right to stop murder, racism and rape? Yes. It all goes back to morals. Which ultimately leads to the bible.
And no, I'm not saying homosexuality is the same as polygamy, murder, racism or rape.
Not allowing someone to marry another person because of their gender seems like discrimination to me. When a female is denied the right to marry another female, she is being turned down based on her gender, aka gender discrimination.
Youre right: murder, racism and rape are all against my morals (morals I obtained without reading the bible)
Where do you think morals come from? Are we fit do decide what is morally right and wrong? Who then determines morals? Seriously, think about it. I know we sure can't. Nobody can for that matter.
Even if you dont believe in the Gospel of Christ, it is a fact that morals originated from the Bible. Like the 10 commandments for example. And it doesn't matter that you didn't personally obtain them from reading the Bible.
I mean really, our own constitution is based around it.
Why do you think we aren't capable of determining what's right and wrong? And why are you so sure that morals originated from the bible? What about societies that existed before the bible? Did they not have morals?
And sure, our constitution was base around the bible's teachings, but we have continued to add to it when necessary, when people's rights aren't protected. Our morals are constantly changing. Not too long ago, racism wasn't considered morally wrong. Now it is.
Thats a really good point. based on my faith i believe that morals came from God. But it can easily be argued that they didnt. So i guess it all depends on your point of view.

Sodomy cannot create children, It's non productive & mechanically incorrect. lol.

You're right. Americans never accept things that are unnatural.. like eyeglasses and polyester. Explain to me what "natural" is.
vanityrivera 2 years ago
@vanityrivera Well for one those things were created for a purpose and are used for that purpose. I mean most people use eyeglasses for their eyes. That's what they're made for. Man and woman becoming one is what's natural, because that's what they were created for. We would be in trouble if we were created to love, marry, and/or procreate with individuals from the same sex.
lisarp03 2 years ago
How IS it unnatural sir? Does it not happen in nature? Do not dogs, sheep, dolphins, pigs, horses, Canadian geese, roosters, chimpanzees (who are 98% equal to human), and yes even cute penguins have gay individual animals? Are not humans themselves homo sapiens and in nature themselves? Is it not a natural phenomenon? Do you have the rules of nature written down? If so I like many would like to see them. We will even call you our prophet.

Pro-gay marriage people need a more persuasive argument to support your views beyond name calling. If you want to redefine "gay" and "marriage" why not redefine "consent" and "adult." And it REALLY doesn't help when you take bible verses out of context in an attempt to support perversion.

Your comment "You now live a life of hate, consumed only by your need to assimilate the rest of the world into your way, forgetting the words of your savior" was very well said. You cannot turn gay.
Stop lying. Prop 8 is aobut RELIGION plain and simple.

davidls11 3 years ago
lets let the gay communities also know that 102 is also a stike against one who is a poligamist, or one who would like to marry his dog cause" i love fluffy", boundries must be set in all we do and the moral boundry is one man one woman.
blueblud281 3 years ago
Voting for 102 for that reason is like voting for a law imprisons jaywalkers and people that litter just because the law also imprisons rapists.
NinjaPoetry 3 years ago

Did these animals choose to be GAY?
mariodnyc 3 years ago
Or any animal for that matter.
timefortaco 3 years ago
Certainly not. The "it occurs in nature" is merely a counter argument to "it doesn't occur in nature" not an argument in and of itself.
Homosexuality occurs as a
glamourweaver 3 years ago
Humans also have the nature to kill other humans. They also kill animals, and some times just for vanity. What I was talking about was the FACT that homosexuality exist in nature. Not only in humans but in other species. Was this a "lifestyle choice" of animals? I don't think so. As for the Bonoboo, I bet he gets EQUAL treatment from all the other Bonoboos. Humans as one of the highest evolved ANIMALS on this planet, can also do such horrific things no other animal can do. All humans are EQUAL.
mariodnyc 3 years ago
Yeah, it does occur in nature. But my point was animals have absolutely nothing to do with us. From an evolution standpoint(which i dont support either), we are far more evolved than any other animal. So why should we compare ourselves? And from a non evolution standpoint, its flat out stupid to compare ourselves to animals. So the comparison is pointless.
And i dont know if they choose it. Im not an animal. I dont know those things. But i do know that humans do in fact choose to be gay.
timefortaco 3 years ago
Homosexuality exists in nature, THUS it is natural. That is a fact you can not dispute.
If sexual orientation is a choice, at what age did you "choose" to become heterosexual?
Could you change your "heterosexual lifestyle", if the roles were revised here.
Think about it.
mariodnyc 3 years ago
Ok mariodnyc:
I still love him and everything, but it doesnt mean I have to support his decision.
timefortaco 3 years ago
Well apparently it is natural among humans too, seeing as 10% of the population is gay. That was just you dodging the argument, dude.
Well if homosexuality is a choice, wouldn't heterosexuality be a choice as well? Because according to you, gays should just be able to choose to be straight.
Did your uncle really wake up one morning and decide to be gay so he could be attracted to his roommate or were there other forces at work there? sexual orientation can change, but cannot be controlled.
m8cct 3 years ago
And one more thing mariodnyc, i know all humans are equal. And in the same way all humans sin. So i dont claim to be any better than homosexuals. And i am aware that God loves them. But it doesnt make it right. And just because they feel like it doesnt mean they should be able to do it.
And dont tell me its their "constitutional right". Have you noticed that it was never legal until just recently? Why do you think it wasnt legal in the first place?
timefortaco 3 years ago
Your bible, which is where I belive you get your morals from says, that if a woman if found not to be a virgin on her wedding night, she must be bought to the front of her fathers house and stoned to death. If you steal you should cut off your hand. If you child is disobedient, the parent have the right to stone them too. Now how silly does that sound in 2008.
mariodnyc 3 years ago
Mariodnyc, you obviously havn't read the Bible. Those verses were all from this video. And yes the Bible says that. But not only was all of that taken out of context, some of it is figurative. Like cutting off your hand if it causes you to sin. Your hand cant cause sin. So you dont need to cut it off.
But the Bible is extremely clear when it says that homosexuality is a sin. And a sin doesnt become ok over time. Its still a sin. Before you make assumptions about the Bible, read it first.
timefortaco 3 years ago
So...women shouldn't be allowed to vote because it wasn't legal in the first place?
Also - people do not choose to be gay. You can't just decide to be gay. I dare you to try telling any homophobic person that - that they could just decide to be gay. I've known ever since I was little and I didn't know what 'gay' was.

And I know that a lot of the time they are dealing with this shit, they wish they were someone else. It is a LOT easier to be straight. So I'm sorry hun, but you are a bit naive to be blindly believing the Bible when it says that it is a choice. The Bible has a few loopholes. You need to grow up and realize that, as do a lot of people who follow the same book as you.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
Yes, thankfully, there are people out there like me who accept people for who they are.. but there are a lot of people that don't, and I have many friends who have been beaten up, bullied, stolen from, and tormented because they are openly gay.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
She was just afraid to admit it to herself and to those who loved her.. because she knew she would be opening herself up to hate coming from a lot of people who wouldn't accept her.
That is just one example of someone who knew they were gay but didn't want to be. OBVIOUSLY, she didn't choose to be gay. She just IS. No one would make that choice, because you either have to live a lie or face a life of hate.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
The argument cannot come from the Bible, because that would be a combination of church and state, which is against the First Amendment of the Constitution. You can believe what you want, but it should NOT be able to dictate what rights are given to others. We are all equals under the law. The government is supposed to treat and protect us equally. So I don't understand how Prop 8 even got on the ballot.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago 2
Well at this point, although I still believe homosexuality is wrong, I think maybe prop 8 isn't so good. I wouldn't want someone to try to make me do something that was against what I believe.
And on a final note, I do believe people choose to be gay, but thats only because it says so in the Bible (In Romans I think). But like I've said before, I'm not trying to convince anyone over the internet. Just my opinion.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
She had known she was gay and that she didn't have any real attraction to her husband for a long time.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
And I wish I could fully express to you the amazing love and mercy of God =]
Although this is honesly too big of an issue to argue over the internet. For both sides. And thanks for the discussion. I hope I didnt come across with the wrong idea. I really do love people, even gay people. And God definately loves gay people too. But what it comes down to is I just cant support something that I know in my heart is wrong. And there isnt really anything that can change that.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
There is no denying these arguments I have made, because I am literally quoting the law. I could go on and on about all the ways discrimination is wrong, and about the ridiculous theory that people choose to be gay. But that's useless.
I hope I've gotten my main point across, which is that Prop 8 shouldn't be allowed on the ballot, let alone passed, because it's against the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. now it's time for bed. thanks.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago 2
Wouldn't you say that a very substantial part of happiness comes from relationships? Not to sound cheesy, but without love, no one is truly happy.
Marriage, for heterosexuals and homosexuals alike, is the American way of pursuing that happiness that comes from love.. not to mention the rights that come with it; for example, the tax benefits, housing, social security and medicare, joint adoption, child support, and even death and burial arrangements for spouses.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
My point here is that you do not have the Constitutional Right to control the lives of people who are different from you.
It is not just that I am against Prop 8.
I believe that Proposition 8 should NOT be on the ballot, because it is against the U.S. Constitution.
Oh, and to bring up another reference that conflicts with Prop 8.. take a look at the Declaration of Independence! It clearly states that all citizens have the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
As citizens of the United States, we are all bound to this Constitution, no matter what sex, age, race, sexual orientation, OR religion.
I recognize that marriage may have started (quite some time ago) with the church, but I have some news for you; it's been recognized by the state for a while now. Things change, and although I respect your beliefs, I wish you would start to live with that change and realize that "The only thing constant is change," to quote the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
Ok, so I have read this whole debate.. and jesse, I respect you for being open to hearing the opinions of others. Unfortunately, there are QUITE a few people who are too stubborn to listen.
So hear me out;
After reading your debate, I noticed that there was one issue tossed in and then ignored... and that is Separation of Church and State. I know you're only 16... but maybe you have learned that this is the First Amendment to our country's Constitution.
mollybutterfly 3 years ago
Thats a great point molly. But I don't know enough about the Bible to find a valid arguement directly from it. I'm sure there is something though.
Although I do know forcing people to think a certain way never works. So I still don't know for sure if I am for or against prop 8.
And I agree, a lot of the people against homosexuality make me really angry. They not only make themselves look stupid, but they make us all look bad.

umm.. forcing people to think a certain way not only never works, it is against the law.

BCMoney919 3 years ago
There is a simple fix to all this fuss. Remove the word marriage entirely. Call it a Union of Trust. Our problem is although we have separation of church and state, religious influences are still abundant in our laws. The government does not gauge if we have sex on our honeymoons, it does not gauge if you actually LOVE the person. It is merely a form to designate combination of assets and trust of decisions of one another. And if it's marriage they want, they can have it in a church, all done..

Man, if you weren't straight, i'd ask you to marry me! Before there's a decision on prop8. No on prop8!!!!!

honestly you are amazing. You need to keep making videos for prop 8. I find it absolutly funny when such ignorant people compare homosexuality with child molestation. People are so sick
califynestudsketch 3 years ago
And i find it funny when people assume we are saying homosexuality and child molestation are the same thing. get your facts straight. the ONLY comparison that is being made is that they are both a sin. thats it. get over it.
we could just as easily compare it to stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. only that wouldnt proove the point very well. it doesnt mean we think gays molest little kids. seriously, look into it more before you start making accusations.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
You're speaking for yourself. A TON of people on your side of the issue really are comparing homosexuality to child molestation. It is disgusting.
NinjaPoetry 3 years ago
Well for the people who are, i agree, that is very disgusting.
But at least not all Christians are making the comparison literally. Although I definately know what you're talking about.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
homosexuality is not natural, neither is child molesting. There is your comparison. Praise GOD! AMEN

Try learning to use youtube correctly then. My email account alerted me to a response from you, which caused the confusion.
Your attempt to be patronising also failed greatly. I could give you some much needed tips, however.

You're welcome

LOVE THE WAY YOU THINK!!! ROCK ON!!!

The attack is against Ninjapoetry, not you.

Do you realize how dumb and irrational you look?
NinjaPoetry 3 years ago
i think that you're brilliant. and that you should continue to make prop 8 videos...and when i make my No on 8 video i will totes tag it to yours. you are a genius. you make the issue come across in a very non-accusatory way. you're hilarious. and you make your point very well. i enjoy your vids. keep posting.

oh, yeah. sorry.
i thought you meant me. im not really used to people agreeing on this subject.
So yeah, sorry again about that.

Please look up the meanings of the words I've highlighted before you respond to me.
ariaane 3 years ago
geez, calm down. i dont admit to be a Biblical genius, i already said im only 16.
besides, if you really knew so much about the Bible, then you would realize that prop 8 is morally right. so i commend YOU for trying to make yourself seem smart. nice try though =]
by the way, if you want to talk about it send me a message. i really am curious of your opinion. but only if you are willing to have a civil debate.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
magnum20082008, clearly you are another pro homosexual advocate who refuses to read what people write. Nowhere have I written that homosexuals 'choose' to be gay, but I do cite the APA and recent studies which confirm that one's *environment* can and DOES impact one's sexuality unconsciously. The APA have backtracked and have acknowledged that some homosexual attractions are *transient* and that homosexuality is not *objectively immutable and innate*.
ariaane 3 years ago
Nobody said that I was talking to you sweetheart, so please do not flatter yourself.
magnum20082008 3 years ago

But no, we cant leave the Bible out of it.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
Have you heard of separation of church and state??
I understand that the term "marriage" is closely tied into the bible, so maybe we should "leave the Bible out of it". Instead, the state should just issue civil unions to every couple that wishes to apply whether it be homosexual or heterosexual couples. Although this would be ideal, I empathize for individuals who can only get civil unions because simply crossing the state line nullifies it...
thecscallan 3 years ago
TANGENT:
The entire idea of civil unions as substitute institutions for marriage is premised on the idea that same-sex couples can have a legal institution that is separate but equal to marriage. Last I checked separate but equal was unconstitutionalI just don't understand how people can justify this blatant discrimination...
thecscallan 3 years ago
It it isn't discrimination. Or at least not in the context you are using it as. For example, when blacks and whites were segregated, that was blatant discrimination. This on the other hand is a moral issue.
Is it discrimination to outlaw polygamy? No, because its against our morals. Do we have a right to stop murder, racism and rape? Yes. It all goes back to morals. Which ultimately leads to the bible.
And no, I'm not saying homosexuality is the same as polygamy, murder, racism or rape.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
Not allowing someone to marry another person because of their gender seems like discrimination to me. When a female is denied the right to marry another female, she is being turned down based on her gender, aka gender discrimination.
Youre right: murder, racism and rape are all against my morals (morals I obtained without reading the bible)
thecscallan 3 years ago
Where do you think morals come from? Are we fit do decide what is morally right and wrong? Who then determines morals? Seriously, think about it. I know we sure can't. Nobody can for that matter.
Even if you dont believe in the Gospel of Christ, it is a fact that morals originated from the Bible. Like the 10 commandments for example. And it doesn't matter that you didn't personally obtain them from reading the Bible.
I mean really, our own constitution is based around it.
jessehawthorne 3 years ago
Why do you think we aren't capable of determining what's right and wrong? And why are you so sure that morals originated from the bible? What about societies that existed before the bible? Did they not have morals?
And sure, our constitution was base around the bible's teachings, but we have continued to add to it when necessary, when people's rights aren't protected. Our morals are constantly changing. Not too long ago, racism wasn't considered morally wrong. Now it is.
Things change.
thecscallan 3 years ago 2
Thats a really good point. based on my faith i believe that morals came from God. But it can easily be argued that they didnt. So i guess it all depends on your point of view.
