Lou Albano was classic period! I don't know what wrestling would be without Gorilla Monsoon and lou Albano-Mcmahon juniors' puke" wrestling"(soap opera) of today has no one to compare!
As I remember, this match was the result of an incident on "All Star Wrestling" where Monsoon and I believe, Manuel Soto, were wrestling Albano's team of Freddie Blassie and Moon Dog Mayne. At the end of the match Albano interfered, striking Monsoon in the head with a blackjack and busting Monsoon open.
Typical Albano match (obvious Albano "blade job"), although younger fans will be surprised to see "The Captain" looking so "svelte" in comparison to the more common 1980s images of him. Albano would usually only wrestle after interfering in a match (usually causing a babyface to bleed), and Albano would be booked for a "grudge match", and this would be the result. Hey guy, do you by any chance have the rest of this card on tape, or is this one of those old "Coliseum" videos?
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show's Lou Albano going up against the Gorilla. I feel like I'm watching the match up between Mario and Donkey Kong.

Moonson was the 70s and 60s hero like HulkHogan on 80s

@Righter99 Actually Bruno was the hero. He and Monsoon had some wars in the 60s. Then Gorilla turned face in the 70s.

Listen to thoes pops Gorilla is getting just for chopping Captain Lou. You wouldn't here that on a WWE program today unless it was canned.

This was the first Madison Square Garden show to be televised, as least to my knowledge. It was broadcast on Home Box Office.

This match shows what a waste of time it was to turn the Captain babyface.
