Onboard flashes are for the PHD (push here dummy) cameras not a professional grade camera. This is a great camera, full frame, light weight, and versitile.

@boyniao when you have a camera like this... you doesnt need a pop-up-flash... this is a high-tech camera... external flashs are the best....

only problem is that there's no popup flash for this camera. you have to get the external flash

I found it for 2.460 euros. It still is a big sum of money.

P.S.: The MP isn't the most important thing in a camera, there are other specifications that makes it good. I'm not a professional though.

Can't afford one but the a900 makes me glad I stuck with minolta gear when I switched from film to digital, the future for dslrs is going to be good, at least if sony keep making cameras without the live view, video or rotating lcd screen nonsense.

Amazing. Awesome camera. I only see good things for Sony in the future, in a few short years the line has already expanded immensely. Accessories are great, most likely won't need any third party stuff. Definitely prefer Sony or Nikon over Canon.

Real photographers use any system or combination to give them the photos they want. Even a plastic APS with a square plastic rim back in the day of no name brand can suffice too! I have a pro Nikon, Olympus, and Canon. I am missing this one.

unless you reduce sony images to 12 MP, a 100% comparative is useless.

LV is a really missing, IP is not good enough, the competition don't use tilting screens, so it's irrelevant.

Aside from gimmicks (video and LV) the a900 is plain awesome, 24 MP with ISO 6,400, 5 fps, PP 100% .74x for a gorgeous VF and IN-body-IS on a FF camera? That's amazing, even more when they're claiming it's better than that of the a700.

Sony has become the number 3 DSLR brand in just 2 years, within a couple of more years they will surpass Nikon.

The sensor isnt exactly what makes the camera, its more how the sensors is used and how the camera reproduces its data, so yeah Nikon is really so great, even though they dont make the sensors themselves.

But sensor tech is important for those of us that shoot in RAW, my new A700 with the V4 firmware equals the D300 in image quality for about 500 less. Yes the Nikon has more focus points but 11 points is plenty enough for me.

Canon needs to reassess its pricing. Unless this Sony does not have the build quality and and picture quality of the 1DS mrk3 then canon needs to drops its prices..... a lot.

this isnt really a competitor to the 1ds mkIII, its more so to the nikon d700, and the successor to the 5D... and you've obviously never thoroughly used a current nikon d-slr :)
