quick question. im from Canada and as for purchasing guns here u have to be 18 or older. is it the same out in the UK or do u need any kind of permits and or license?
@acesniper47 It's slightly more complex in the UK. You have to be 18 to buy Airsoft guns, but you also need to be able to prove to retailers that you play regularly to buy realistic coloured Airsoft guns.
If you don't have the proof, you have to buy an Airsoft gun that is at least 50% brightly coloured.
It's not a license or a permit, you simply need to be able to say to your retailer "Yes, I play at this Airsoft site regularly, here is my proof" (usually site membership = proof)
@madbullairsoft You know, if you've got a business proposition/deal to make between two professionals, posting a public comment on Youtube is a pretty dumb way to go about things.
If i'm not mistaken, scout has already said he isn't interested. He doesn't do gun reviews, he does skirmish videos.
@TheSkarsbo No it's not... The Modello 38 has a normally mounted magazine, that sticks out of the bottom of the gun. The gun in this video is a Bergmann MP18.
@Theloltart193 Depends on the field, some places allow as low as 13. Some places are 18+ (though usually those are only specific events), and some go as high as a 16+ age limit.

Also, Cybergun sucks, who the heck licenses an AK? The only "licensing" an AK can have is a serial number on the side of the receiver (unless it's supposed to be one of those custom American-made variants like Krebs Custom)

@CStingerGhost1 Yeah I know, but the thing is that even brands who DO make "exact replicas" like Inokatsu, LCT and GHK (more specifically their recent AKM GBBR, which is actually LCT-based so it doesn't really count) of the AK don't have any licensing. The thing with the AK is that it's been pirated so much that the plants in Russia can't even enforce their patent anymore, that's why even they have to sell it for a cheap price. Same thing goes to airsoft, you pretty much can't be sued about it!
@GreveSparf - I don't just mean the AK. I mean that there are companies that license exact replica guns from their real makers. Like the Echo 1 Ohio Ordnance Works SAW. It is licensed from the Ohio Ordnance Works company. Echo 1's AK series, which is the Redstar series, is licensed from the company Redstar, which makes real AKs.
@CStingerGhost1 Well the Redstar licensing still feels unnecessary too, since they are civilian firearms, and airsoft generally replicates military combat. I still like Krebs Custom (KCI) licensing (from LCT) because those are actually different compared to standard AK-models. The Echo1 Redstar guns are just normal AKs with Redstar licensing. Had they been any different from a normal AK I would have thought the licensing was a nice touch, now it just makes a military gun into a civilian gun

@CStingerGhost1 Only Redstar makes? They're rebranded CYMA guns! The only gun in the Redstar bunch that doesn't seem to be pretty much identical to what CYMA has produced over the years is the CPM, but the only difference from a CYMA AKS-74U is the magazine (easily replaced) and black furniture (spray-paint). Not saying they're all bad, because I still house some respect for Echo1 due to their quality assurance, it's just that their licensing really doesn't fit my tastes.
@fingersticks74 - If you didn't already read what I said, Redstar makes REAL AK-47s and 74s! So how could they buy a cheap Chinese version of that if they are a real company contracted from Russia (Well, they used to be). And Echo 1's are NOT CYMA rebrands it WAS proven in a legal investigation, they make some of their own, and the rest are JG rebrands except their M-14 which I don't remember what it was. It wasn't a CYMA though. And you call "Cheap" 475 FPS and full metal? Thts my Echo 1 gun.

The restrictions they are trying to put on airsoft guns here in California are ridiculous. They want to force the airsoft guns to either be clear, or be some bright color like yellow, green, purple, red, etc. If you live in California, email your state representative to vote against the law: SB 798
@Inkognitohaloramics They already have introduced it, although it's barely the same bill. Rather than specifically saying "We want to do X, Y and Z to all replica firearms in California", De Leon has re-written it to allow every city/town in California to be able to decide what they want to do.
The new version of the bill has already passed at least one committee, and appears to be making fairly good progress beyond that.

Avtomat Kalashnikov roughly translates to Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle.
The number and letter suffixes after AK define what kind of AK it is.

The restrictions they are trying to put on airsoft guns here in California are ridiculous. They want to force the airsoft guns to either be clear, or be some bright color like yellow, green, purple, red, etc. If you live in California, email your state representative to vote against the law: SB 798

@Inkognitohaloramics They already have introduced it, although it's barely the same bill. Rather than specifically saying "We want to do X, Y and Z to all replica firearms in California", De Leon has re-written it to allow every city/town in California to be able to decide what they want to do.
The new version of the bill has already passed at least one committee, and appears to be making fairly good progress beyond that.
